hadnt used my laptop in a year or less the other day i wanted to turn it on to see my pictures but i lost my charger so got a new charger and now my computer blue light works but screen is black and also when i try to turn the power button off it stays lit

brother, if you have a computer monitor then connect it to your laptop via vga cable and see if it works or not ! if it works on monitor then you need to check your laptop's display connector pin and clean it. if it not works then you need to change your display.
