Lol i know right like every local "engineer" only tell people to replace things that dont really need to be replaced and its very pricey

my laptop got wet and the screen wouldn't turn on. thank goodness i saw this! i just took out the ram then cleaned a few spaces here and it worked! I just avoided getting hit by my mother with her tsinelas! TYSM

Mr NR Tech: I have a laptop that seems to be doing something similar to this one. The laptop was seemingly working fine at first ( A friend had just bought it used) but later it would only do what your HP in this video does , show the power and battery light with no post or fans. The main thing i noticed that was odd, was that whether the battery was installed or not, the power light would always come on the instant I plugged the power connector into the laptop () after it stopped posting). Just like your laptop does in the video. Most laptops wouldn't have the power light come on automatically, you'd need to press the power button. Does this mean I likely need a keyboard or do you know of any other reason why this might happen . Ive repaired computers for quite a few years, and even though I do learn knew things everyday ( I never said I was great at it ;)) this was definitively a new one for me. Is the power light coming on the second it gets power also a sign of a keyboard issue ? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer! Either way it seems that you know some important things I don't, so I subscribed and gave the thumbs up :).

This was very helpful. Putting the memory back in the same slot did not work for me but putting it in the empty slot next to it did. Thanks for the helpful idea!

Your slot is okay.you have to wiggle the ram in,until it seats in its correct position.i also had a slot that I thought was damaged.

How to fix it?

My Asus TUF 505dt started showing blackscreen, after installing new RAM stick, opened it and re-seated the sticks. Now its working properly 🥺. Thank You so much ❤️. Got my self embarrassed and worried 😅

My Toshiba Satellite P55W-B5224 laptop was powering on, fan running, but no picture or display on screen. After watching many videos, several weeks ago I had cleaned the RAM sticks with eyeglass cleaning alcohol sheets. Had cleaned the keyboard ribbon cable, had cleaned the fans which had some dust build up. Also replaced the thermal paste/grease of the heatsink to improve cooling of the CPU and Graphic processors. Battery was charging well. Still no display. I thought I messed up the BIOS, because I could not see the display as the screen was faint and could not enter the date, and pressed wrong keys as the touch screen was also faint with double images. After coming across your video, I thought I should try again disconnecting the Keyboard and RAM sticks. This time I used an eraser (good quality bought from Dollar Tree store about 10 erasers in $1) to clean the shiny contact points of the RAM sticks as well as the Keyboard ribbon cable. But be careful, do not over do it which may remove the gold coating from the contact points. Before removing the RAM sticks, I disconnected the battery and the battery charging power cable, and touched to metal surface to discharge static electricity from my fingers. Reconnected the cleaned RAM sticks and the Keyboard ribbon cable and the battery. I made sure to reseat the RAM sticks and the keyboard ribbon cable fully inserted to have good contact. Then turned on the power button of the laptop. The screen popped up the "TOSHIBA Leading Innovations..." display on the screen, and then displayed the BIOS screen. For several weeks I could not get the BIOS screen. It solved my problem for the time being. I did not have to replace or reseat the CMOS battery, because I could not find it in this model of Toshiba Satellite. I connected the laptop to an external monitor and entered the Date and time in the BIOS screen on the External monitor. The display is fantastic in the external monitor indicating that the GPU processor is doing fine. Replacing the thermal paste, which I did several weeks ago will help in cooling the GPU processor. The eraser actually removed a layer of black buildup from the contact points of the RAM sticks even though the contact points were looking shiny before rubbing with the eraser. Perhaps I could have rubbed with an alcohol swab. Some of the letters of my keyboard do not work, and the touch screen does not work properly. So I used the external keyboard and external monitor.

Press power button for 5 sec. then pc will turn off then press for 1 sec. nd when manufacturer screen appears press power button again for 5 sec. repeat this process at least 2-3 times then ur windows will automatically go into "auto repair mode" then go into advance options and uninstall windows and features updates and then try to reinstall windows and this will do trust me.👍🙏

The ramd change and clean saved my laptop huhuhu thank you. 🤩 Works in samsung laptop. You saved my life, I cried yesterday so much. I thought my laptop is dead. Thank youuuuu so much. What I did is that I cleaned my ram using a small brush to remove the dirts. I put it back gently to the place where it was, and then when i turned on my laptop it works as fine as what it was. ☺️ I was so happy. Thankful to this video.

If you can't be bothered by cleaning the ram, try to wait for few minutes after turning on the power (i guess the longer the better). Then turn off by holding power button, and last turn it on again. Hope it help for temporary fix.

Thanks for the suggestion, 1st method works for me. I would suggest everyone to remove your laptop ram, clean with rubber and put it back again properly. Hope it works🤍

yes you can, i think.... if you have an Black Blue VGA 15 Pin Male to Male like the blue one for monitors you can connect one end to your laptop and the other to your tv then you will be able to see everything on the TV

The same thing happened to me but I didn't do any of the methods in this video. Turned out that all I had to was to hold the power button for 10 seconds and guess what. It worked like magic. Thought about sharing it is you might be facing the same problem.

Tnxx Mine working after disconnect keboard cabel and turn on leptop after that i turnoff and plugged keyboard cabel now my Display, Keyboard and mouse paid all working fine ☺️

My laptop problem is that I connect the LCD screen to my laptop while it's on and when I connect I see a little spark and it's automatically shut off and when I turn it on it goes black screen

Mine was so simple, I literally just held the power button for a few seconds, the computer switched off then I just switched it back on again. Now it's working perfectly. Try that everyone

Thanks for this! I thought I had hopelessly busted up my Acer Aspire 5755 after opening it up and cleaning the inside of it. Black screen on power up. Found your video and true enough. It was the keyboard connection that caused it.

When the screen wouldn't turn on, was the keyboard still lit up? That's what is happening to me.

@@bobbarker8405 didn't notice that the keyboard was actually even lit. I think i always had the backlight off. Sorry. As far as i remember all led's light up except for the screen.

I was doing my regular maintenance to my laptop, and it won't turn on. Turns out i put the ram in the wrong slots. Thank you for this video tho

Mine was the same so I just plug it on a 32 inches flat screen tv that I was not using so now I have a huge screen, problem fixed.
