Que tal te salio este . Yo compre ya 2 super cub 12 combo y los 2 se romperon se bajava y subia el volumen a las 3 semanas me cambiaron por garantia

I just got one of these, it's basically a Marshall style classic rock amp with lower watt settings. I love that and it's what I wanted, but if you're getting this for cleans, they're ok, but you're getting the wrong amp. A lot of people don't like Marshall amps, despite their reputation. I kind of love watching somebody find that out first hand. I love Vox amps but you've got to max them out for them to sound good so that's why I went for this. Good video though.

Yes, I agree. It's intended to look 'boutique' but although it's good, it isn't quite up to that in my mind.

Look forward to the Bad Cat review. There's superb!

I think it's a taste thing. I personally enjoy the sound of the Cub Super series (at least so far), I've a Cub Super 10 practice amp. I do agree, however, that they're not perfect in terms of sound but I think that one can get a variety of sounds by using the EQ and tweaking a bit with pedals/boosters, etc. I think it's easier to get a good clean sound of these than a distorted one. I think your tone with this amp wasn't all that bad.

@@GuitarStuffChannel I think Laney just has an overall rounder kind of tone. It might not be one's thing if you're into really 'American' kinds of sounds. I actually like this kind of sound, don't really enjoy harsh/piercing highs, so for me, it sounds good.

The circuit of Laney Cub shows it is a completely pure tube amp. It can be pushed by any overdrive/dist pedal to improve tube clipping nicely. Other amps like Blackstar etc. have chip-based overdrive/dist even amp sim circuits in the preamp stage to make them sound thicker/fuller. The result is a better amp sound but if you push them with pedals, you will get not nice metallic robotic distortion tones..

Your playing sounds quite good though this amp, actually. I think the clean sound is actually quite good, probably not 'boutique amp' tone (or the most 'elite' tone you can find), but it's certainly round and pleasing to the ear.

Does the on board booster increase the gain or the volume (or both)?

I don't have the amp any more, but it acts like a normal boost in front of the amp. So increase gain and volume up to a point, but then after it's really loud then just gain.

Tone feel and musicality are in the hands, the amp will only enhance this....no offence intended.

None taken. There's a lot to be said for tone being in the fingers. In fact I said it myself in the video when I said that Lari Basilio can make any gear sound good.

Depending on your music style maybe this is really not for you. This will be a more British rock sound when boosted, and flat clean sounds. For me sounds good. I would like to hear you playing with a guitar like a Les Paul. I am just returning a Bad Cat 15r today. Not enough distortion in my opinion. Maybe I got the wrong Bad Cat…maybe the Hot Cat would be the one for me…but I am planning to try this Laney or a Fender Bassbreaker.

Interesting point. Yes, this amp isn't for me. I just posted a Bad Cat review, I got a lot of distortion out of it with a Les Paul.

I like sound in videos. I listen the ht1 vídeo andar ac10 and like more the laney. I Don't know

why didn't you just get a fender, unless your short of cash?

The problem is not the amp....it's that crappy cab...I use it with a 1x12 fat baby Celestion V30

sound real low

sounds hollow and cheap :O
