With IDaK's credit card: It could be something where they ran an authorization when it was meant to be charged as debit, When that happens things seem to glitch out and it can take like two weeks to go back in your account. You can call the bank/card and make sure it's still pending and/or ask them to fix it. (I used to work at a hotel, this always happened when someone told us to run a debit "as credit" then got mad at us when it got messed up even when we warned them it might)

I would be careful with the "if you do something and feel bad afterwards, you should start making behavioral changes" idea. In most cases, that's probably good advice, but it can backfire. How you respond to things is a trained response, and usually not intentional. For instance if you've been raised in a hyper-religious household that denigrated your human nature, you might feel ashamed after doing anything related to sex. That's not because there's anything wrong with what you're doing, it's just an ingrained emotional response from being trained to have negative associations with one of the most fundamental components of being human. Trying to eliminate it from your life will fail, and will cause you damage. Your emotional response to things is just that, a response, it can not be a guide. It does not show you where to go, it is purely a reflection of where you've been and the imprint of your prior experiences.

I've gone on a couple of 11 day backpacking trips and the no devices cleanse is 100% worth it. It's kind of hard to explain, but you pick your phone up after and it almost feels like you've never used it before. Your brain almost forgets what the thing is. I used to be obsessed with scrolling through instagram or having to keep snapchat streaks with a million different people, but after those trips I've found that I just don't have the desire to do those things as much. When I'm bored my brain decides it wants to work on one of a couple hobby projects I have going on and I feel so much more refreshed. I still scroll at times, but not having that be the #1 thing I end up doing has been great. I know I'm commenting this under a year old episode but if Will sees this, I would Definitely recommend doing something like you talked about starting at 40:22. Everything you said about how happy that could make someone is true.

Jesus, William's story reminded me of my own similar, but much, much worse story. When I was around 16 my dad wanted to use my PC for something and stumbled on my nsfw folder so he and my mom locked themselves IN MY ROOM and proceeded to watch all the videos I had. This took them at least 20 minutes while I was locked outside, crying and considering whether I should go to the kitchen and h*rt myself with a kn*fe - obviously I didn't do it but many thoughts like that went through my head as I thought my life was over and didn't know what they would do to me. So once they saw it all what did they do? They 'invited' me inside and proceeded to show me the videos they found, commenting on them and fet*sh shaming me (I had some water sports wideos). I remember my dad teasing and laughing at me about a video of a woman pi*sing herself. I was never this embarrassed in my entire life before or after. I was traumatized and in that moment I just wanted to d*e. In the end I don't think I was punished much aside from that psychological trauma. Now 12 years later I'm pretty sure a lot of my self-confidence and self-worth issues come from that very moment. Still never even kissed a girl and honestly at this point I'm not even looking for one anymore. To top it all off now I'm a furry 3d artist, looking to make living making 3D nsfw animations and I still have water sports fet*sh. So yeah, thanks mom and dad for making me into who I am today. Moral of the story: don't traumatize your teenagers. If you find their nsfw stash don't fu*king tell them (as long as it's relatively normal, legal nsfw and not some extreme or illegal stuff, and even then probably consult a psychologist first or better yet just let a psychologist handle it). And despite it all I now have normal relations with my parents, I don't blame them much for what happened, they were just pretty clueless about this whole parenting thing (sadly most parents are). Also I'm slowly working to get over my issues. This is probably 10th time I'm trying to send this comment, censoring it more and more cause it gets auto removed. My previous comment is still up but doesn't show up for anyone but myself. I h*te this system.

@@19smkl91 Yeah, the worst part is that you can't do anything about it. It's all in the past, the damage is done. Like even if you tell them that they did something wrong and that's why you are fucked up in some way it'll only serve to strain your relations with them. I guess we just have to accept things as they are and forgive them for their mistakes, it's not like they deliberately tried to hurt us.

Online transactions can be of two types. But I understand this was from physical a card scanner thingy so this most likely does not apply. There are immediate transactions and there are transaction authorizations. If a transaction is authorized the amount will be missing but usually without an explicit entry in the movement history. The entry will only appear after the transaction is completed, and it can be of less than the authorized money. This can give a perception of the money being lost in limbo, because actually bank apps are terrible at showing you this. Also there is usually no way to unauthorize transactions and they can only be charged back after they are completed. This could be what happened. Any authorized money that is never finalized into an actual transaction will return silently in the account after a period of time depending on the bank, ranging from two weeks to a month. If the money was instead sent with an instant transaction, then it's anyone's guess why it's not there yet.

can confirm about the internet and going out thing. The fear of failure and wanting to vanquish any possibility for messing up are absolutely deadly, at least personally. Coming to terms with the idea that I 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 fail and things 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 be my fault and I 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 have to deal with loss as a result of my choices is hard, and especially when I've spent my life constantly suppressing my wants and impulses cause that's what I thought everyone did and that's just how you be "a mature person" when really it creates emotional immaturity

@NileRed: When you mentioned at times don't want to go on Reddit or web other rabbit holes and you would rather stare at the wall; I find those small books of soduku or crosswords you get in the news agents for a couple of quid perfect for those situations. Occupying enough that you aren't bored, offline enough that you don't just hit the new tab button by instinct and return to the brain rot, and dull enough that you can think clearly when inspiration hits there is nothing holding you back for moving on, doing something that feels more productive to return to the puzzles another day.

I can supply food, clean water, and maintain a connection to GPS so that y’all would have a good idea of where you are at all times. I know it’s unlikely but it’s very therapeutic and I’m very confident in my ability to deliver a unique wilderness experience.

There's a place in LA called "Wurstkuche" that makes a rabbit and rattlesnake sausage hotdog. There's one Downtown near the arts district, also probably other areas~ It's worth a go! (They also serve other sausages)

The thing about organizing trips with a ton of people is everyone has a different schedule and if you need to make a deposit for a rental place you'll need to collect and figure out transportation.. a lot of places need to be booked months in advance

I've played RuneScape since 2004, quit in highschool then when OSRS came out I've been hooked since. So fun honestly, group content like raids is amazing imo.

Also a Montreal KZreadr and been thinking about putting together an event. From my side at least, you don't really want to cold email channels that have 100x your viewership to "hang out" because they obviously get solicited a bunch. I've generally left things the other way around. Also, hands making chemical reactions is just automatically less "Hey there's a guy to hang out with" than the dude riding around on a bike with roomba wheels. Now that's a human! Anyway, him me up Nigel if you read this.

I just started watching this cuz I watched NileRed videos with my little brother when I was going through some stuff and then kinda felt like a friend was missing when I ran out. But now I watch all of your channels. So congrats on the successful collab lol. I had watched Simone for years so finding out there were more of the tech/chem/maker/failed Mythbusters genre youtubers out there has been really nostalgic and great. Also, I got useful resources for my laser from Wills old videos so that's another perk. Keep doing the things that make yall happy!

I've been told that Kangaroos are hard to farm, you need huge fences to keep them in an area and they dont herd well. So they have to be hunted, which is why its expensive meat.

Two guests I'd like to see you have on are Demo Ranch and ZNA. But I always enjoy whoever is on. If Osman makes a crazy builder compound I would totally volunteer my welding/fiberglassing/plastic and rubber casting talents.
