    Let me give an explanation about even versus odd firing order. I feel most youtubers don't know the principle behind it and they always talk about this topic very lightly. Both the 5.0 and the 5.2 share the same bank angle of 90 degrees between bank 1 and 2. To calculate the perfect angle between the two banks of cylinders to achieve an even firing order you divide 720 degrees (the degrees needed to complete one cycle in a 4 stroke engine) by the number of cylinders, in this case 10. So 720 / 10 = 72 degrees. An angle of 72 degrees between the two banks of cylinders would be perfect to obtain an even firing order without the use of a crankshaft with split crankpins that adds cost, complexity and a potential lower fatigue limit on the junction between every couple of crankpins (where you end up with less "meat" compared to a crank with shared crankpins like the one on the 5.2 V10 or the BMW S85 5.0 V10). The difference between 72 and 90 degrees is 18 degrees. Lamborghini decided to use a crankshaft with split crankpins on the 5.0 with an offset equal to 18 degrees (90-72=18) between every couple of opposed pistons. This gave it one ignition every 72 degrees of rotation of the crankshaft and a smoother power delivery. For the 5.2 they adopted a crankshaft with shared crankpins between every couple of opposed pistons. This gave the engine an uneven firing timing of 90-54-90-54-ecc degrees (assuming the pins are disposed on a 144 degrees pattern looking at the crankshaft from a draft of its section) hence its different sound and typical "burble' at low Rpms. I really don't know what he means when he says "in this 5.0 there are two inline fives firing at the same time". Same thing for "the 5.2 that sounds like 2 straight fives instead of one 10 cylinders engine". I strongly believe these statements make people so confused. I feel the 5.0 V10 sounds way closer to a Straight 5 given the fact on this one (the I5) every ignition occurs every 144 degrees of crank rotation which is exactly double the rotation required by the even firing V10 for every ignition to happen (the frequency turns out to be an even multiple). I'm a mechanical engineer

    ​@@DARKILLA9811 Back then there were two different V10s used by Audi. The 5.2 naturally aspirated (found on the S6 C6) and the 5.0 twin turbo (mounted on the RS6 C6). I remember an Audi engineer talking about the different configurations of the crankshaft and he said they preferred to adopt an even firing V10 with split crankpins for its smoothness for the S6 given the fact it was more of a cruiser, built with comfort as top priority. For the RS6 on the other hand, being an RS product, they decided to use an odd firing V10 to give it more of a racing feel and roughness. When it comes to benefits, I'd say simpler crankshaft design and strength for the odd firing V10. For the even firing one a smoother power delivery but more complexity for the crankshaft design and more weakness due to the cross section between every pair of crankpins. They could've used a flying arm to compensate for this "weakness" but they didn't (probably because 18 degrees of offset is negligible). I have no idea about why Lamborghini and Audi decided to switch entirely from even to odd. No matter what solution you choose, you'll always need to figure out how to make the V10 run properly since it's not a perfectly balanced configuration like an I6, V12 or Boxer 6 btw. Examples are the adoption of a balance shaft (that's gonna rotate at the same speed of the engine) to cancel out the first order vibrations or properly designed flywheel and crankshaft pulley.

    The Murcielago sv and the gallardo are my favourites. I don’t think any new Ferrari or lambo design could ever change my mind about the design and feel of these two.

    I love manual transmission 😍. You might lose light to light races to modern autos. Too me its worth it for the driving experience. Plus ive had my manual transmission explode and i still made it home with no oil in the trans, using the 2 gears that still worked. Plus the ability to pop start the car, plus you can always depress clutch incase of stuck WOT. But really its more enjoyment for me

    @@64BikeDirt Yep, true as it is 'automatic', in a manual car you can figure something out and make it work. That's why I love manual cars ! You get that feel of increasing the speed after manually shifting the gears ! And also manual cars are great for places where there is a lot of traffic jam. Also you may have to drive someone else's car which may be manual, what if you don't know how to drive one ? It would look bad right to the one giving you to drive the car right ? So, yeah I'd prefer manual cars over automatic cars because they are reliable and fun ! Plus they're cheaper than automatic cars !

    I was able to get home by shifting gears just in the rev time after the clutch actuator broke. If it was an automatic transmission I would have to call a tow truck.

    I know somebody who installed a X-straight pipe exhaust on his pre LP Superleggera Gallardo and it sounds super super loud and super super awesome and it even does flames and pops and bangs on downshifts and I always asked myself how on earth does it does that and not the LP models. And now I know, pre LP models are 5 liter even firing engines... Thats how. Thank you for your great explanation. 👍

    Love my 06 gated. Such great cars and timeless design. Engaging to drive way more than even my prior porsche gt4. As you mention the gated shifter and rawness of Lambo is just so unique and different even than R8s.
