We lived on the Lahaina side before the fires and were in contract to buy a Front Street home, but we ended up buying on the south side. We have not been to Lahaina side since the fires. We don’t know if we ever will. So sad. Just as bad is that our Failed Fire & Police Chiefs are still collecting their salary for failing to do anything, no planning, no preparation, not a damn thing for the approaching high wind, fire warnings. We are now paying the price for the failures of our Public Safety Chiefs. Lahaina Strong.

Jesse, Please do not allow anyone to remove these videos. Our family went to Maui on November 28, of 2021 for my Son's and Daughter in Law's wedding held at Olawalu on December 8, 2021. Even though it turned out to be a stormy night with some damage and significant flooding in Kihei, and some storm damage and minor flooding in Lahaina Town, that day was the most beautiful. That week we stayed at Lahaina Shores, and while we were there, it was filled with trips all around the Lahaina Town, from Kapalua, to Kaanapali and Red Hill with great food stops including Cheeseburger, Merriman's, and several places including Kimo's and the harbor with a trip on the Trilogy V with Capt. Turtle. So Lahaina and Maui are close to our hearts and for our Son. They went to Maui once since the fire, and said it was not the same, staying in Wailea. We miss the old Lahaina Town and want to see it come back, so your videos really help keep it alive. Don't give up. Mr. and Mrs. W, Houston TX.

I live on the East Coast, and my family has been coming to Hawaii at least once a year for the last two decades (17 or so of those years have been Maui). First my parents, then, after my father passed away, my mom, my brother and myself. While we have friends who live/lived in Lahaina and Wailuku, we don't want to be asking them for updates. They have enough going on without that. Your videos are how we can stay apprised of the progress being made without having to ask questions that may be injuring to people we care about who are trying to heal. I think you do a good job of remaining factual and impartial, while conveying the information you possess in a clear and well-laid-out format. Please continue!

I really appreciate your videos. I live in San Diego County, California, and we have experienced conflagrations similar to the Maui one. Every time I watch one of your videos, my heart aches for those who lost their lives, lost their homes, lost their businesses, and lost their jobs. I find your videos very informative and sincerely hope you continue to update us on the recovery. We are frequent visitors to Maui, but have stayed away to give residents time to recover.

We traveled to Maui to spend our tourist dollars in the community instead of in Mexico because of being able to see the progress from your videos. We enjoyed the whole island and respected our beloved Lahaina at the same time. We ate at Mala Tavern after learning from you that they re-opened. Every little bit helps the community to improve day by day. I was first hesitant to watch the videos because I was skeptical that they were done by a real estate guy, but they are informative, current, and helpful in planning Maui trips to infuse $$ into the local businesses without interfering with the cleanup. We went to Maui for our 1986 honeymoon and have tried annually to either celebrate our anniversaries or my husband's or my birthdays there, so Maui and especially Lahaina mean so much to me and my husband. We love Maui and wish her well.

My heart really goes out to the residents, I live in Northern California & all of our communities were deeply affected by the serious wildfires a few years back. I am curious, I have heard that many have received no help yet from their insurance companies. And also about the very long delays in the permit process to start rebuilding their homes. Here we have seen areas of single family homes being replaced with apartments, condos, etc. Also it is extemely difficult to find home owner's insurance for fires. One of my friend's insurance policy was increased by $10,000.00 this year. I do hope that you continue filming the areas as things improve, it's so important to see some progress & I really don't understand why your videos would be removed. AS we get closer to the beginning of this year's fire season we are becoming more anxious.

Please do keep updating us on the Mainland. My family ties with Lahaina and Maui go back to my Great Grandfather and Great Grandmother who emigrated from Portugal. He owned dry good stores in Wailuku, and Lahaina, and served on the Grand Jury in the late 1890's and early 1900's. So having the updates and seeing the progress helps immensely, as we no longer get any news about the recovery where I live. Even my family on Oahu can only give partial updates, seeing the progress does make a difference. It was very emotional to actually see the Banyan tree as you flew the drone over it, damaged but showing resilience.

As Canadian tourists, we've visited Lahaina on three separate occasions over the years. A magical place. Thank you, Jesse for your ongoing videos and for expressing the concerns we all share for the ultimate completion of the Lahaina restoration projects. Our favourite memory is in regards to Lahaina's Pioneer Inn. While visiting the Big Island in 1974, we encountered Steve Goodman and family in Hilo's Lili'uokalani Park and Gardens. Arlo Guthry's hit recording of 'City of New Orleans' was written by Steve. Steve told us a story about his stay with wife Nancy at Lahaina's Pioneer Inn where they were currently staying. He was so broke and the rent was due he was afraid to leave their suite when out-of-the-blue he received in the mail a rather large royalty check from Asylum Records. Their financial concerns were over! Each time we've visited Lahaina - and sitting in their lanai eating Mahi-mahi and eggs for breakfast - we reflect upon Steve's story. We look forward to the day when these wonderful holidays can be replicated. God Bless America. Bill

Thank you so much for your videos. I am Canadian. My family has been vacationing on Maui since the 1960's. Four generations of us now. Some of my earliest memories are from Lahaina, and it is absolutely one of my favourite places on Earth. I was last on Maui Christmas of 2022 and left with heavy heart as I may never be able to afford to visit again. I was heartbroken at the fire and reached out to island residents I know to check on their safety. I cannot help in any tangible way, but I care deeply for this community, it's people, culture and traditions and I look forward to the rebuilding of this charming, historic town, and the return of its people.

Jesse- Yes, please continue your updates, they are a valuable tool in aiding the recovery. I have friends that relocated here to the mainland after losing everything in that fire. Although watching any video about it is too disturbing for them, hearing about the progress through your videos is helping them in their personal, emotional recovery. It's true that the early ones were (and always will be) heartbreaking to watch, but as progress and rebuilding continues, it can only be heartwarming to see Lahaina rising from it's ashes. A different Lahaina yes, but one that will be as strong, determined, and united as before, thanks to the beauty and spirit of it's residents. No fire can ever extinguish that. Thank you for what you do.

Totally appreciate your coverage and continuity with Lahaina towns remediation and progress. Am 🇨🇦 and we have fires in Alberta and BC every spring- fall . The personal and financial heartbreak of Lahaina residents resonates with those of us who have lived through the destruction of these fires personally. Certain places live in fear each spring now. No solutions to our problem is evident yet. Government doesn't seem to learn from past experiences or take enough premeditated actions to prevent at least some of the Epic destruction. Also, many Canadians who hold Maui, specifically Lahaina town closest to our hearts, want to see Lahaina town and it's original community healed. ❤
