Kyprios got the better of Trawlerman in an epic Gold Cup battle at Royal Ascot to regain the crown he won in 2022.
Ryan Moore and William Buick battled it out all the way to the line but it was Kyprios who proved too good in the end to give Aidan O'Brien a 9th Gold Cup victory.

People writing off this superstar all week! This was the absolute bet of the week, with the 2 prep runs and firm ground kyprios was never gonna be beaten, one of the best long distance flat horses of all time, hes a monster.

My point exactly🤣 this race was not that much harder than the 2 preps he had in Ireland where Ballydoyle left a lot of meat on the bone...

Bet of the week was Rodin @13/8 or Rosillion @5/2 the 4.50 trifecta was a great money spinner 450 times the money.
Wow, as fast as he was going at the end and pulling away, Ryan pulled him up very quickly.
Kyprios stays forever evidenced by his victory in the Prix du Cadran on desperate ground. Trawlerman is a two mile specialist who was doing easy fractions until the jockey on Caius Chorister put a spanner in the works. There was only one winner after that.
I thought Trawlerman was a different class in the last few races and I think he's proven that with this run. Kyprios just a special horse but betting W/O Kyprios @4/1 was a steal.

@@robertdelacy3434 Why not? Willie Mullins is to National Hunt what AP O'Brien is to Flat Racing. WM has won everything he needs to at NH - his success rate is very attractive to Breeders & Owners with deep pockets.

Seriously? Piggott, Detorri, Kinane, Carson, Eddery, Shoemaker, Arcaro, Cauthen, Saint-Martin - just some of the names I can think of (my opinion). You might also be surprised at the amount of criticism Moore has come in for when his tactics fail.

Training performance of the year by Aidan O'Brien to get Kyprios back to win the GC. Poor old Vauban ever since clueless Lewis jumped on the band wagon he's just went backwards

I agree with you on Aidan but I actually thought Vauban ran a personal best today. If they ride him like that in Melbourne he might run into a place.

@@Zarkava8 really, I would have thought running 4th in a gold cup was an improvement on winning a handicap but I suppose the horse he beat that day helped his rating and he did fade away a good bit today in the last furlong so I guess I was wrong.

I thought that that was excellent coverage of the Gold Cup 2024, which appeared to have been cut from ITV’s broadcast yesterday. However, you managed to completely ruin what should have been an exciting, very close racing experience by quoting the name of the winner in the title of the video😡😡😡
Ballydoyle could've sent either Tower of London, Continous, Queenstown or even Point Lonsdale and each one would've won here💀 but they respectfully sent the best in the world even then the mugs tried to be smart once again😂

The staying division is quite dire now, nothing more than old ex handicappers, the division has been pretty weak for quite a few years now, actually the last really decent stayer was Yeats many moons ago.

@@nc3music920 Actually I will agree that Stradivarious was good, but I still don't believe he was better than Yeats, but I'm definitely not sure about Kyprios, he's tough granted but he lacks that class element, and he's just beating horse who should have been retired a few seasons ago.

@@Thomas-vg8ovI think after coming back and doing what he did today Kyprios has proven himself a proper champion stayer that can be mentioned in the same breadth and Stradivarius and Yeats. Not many horses regain Gold Cups.
