@@konakona895 Jockeys have shockers in their hands to shock the horses with. They race the horses at 2 years old (still a foal) They use harsh bits and are very heavy handed, horses have very thin skin so this hurts. They use hard whips and hit them hard, like I said, they have thin skin. They kill over 60 percent of them. The way they kill them is hang them and sometimes shoot them in the back of the head. They inject them with illegal drugs. If they aren’t killed they are sent to glue factories or kill pens. They are forced to run even if they break a bone. If you still think they aren’t being abused, do your research and have another read of this. Would you like to be treated like this?

Charlotte gave that horse a fabulous ride. He had bolted at the start and would have hated just slowly wandering round surrounded by other horses. Her judgement of pace and the feel from the horse was perfect. She never went hell for leather, just allowed the horse to stretch and gallop.

Each ran the distance faster than Secretariat's Derby, yet it was totally unremarked at the time. Just watched it again. Catholic Boy won in a head bob, so Analyze It, the second, was also quite impressive. kzread.info/dash/bejne/p3Wgpbebn93PZ9A.html Here's Athena in the Belmont Oaks Invitational. kzread.info/dash/bejne/g5-ErtiQktvRlNo.html

Saw a video on Secretariat once, investigating his stride. The circle is the most effective use of power to create movement. Unfortunately, horses have 4 legs. But S.'s strides were timed almost perfectly regularly spaced, coming the closest to the efficiency of a circle possible for 4 legs. I love trivia.

Exactly, it's not a set up or anything. In 99% of such races the long time leader is always expected to run out of Gas and be swallowed up close to home, so the rest of the field usually hangs back, and in most cases like this it is too late when the chasing pack realize that the long time leader is not slowing up. The horse was made fit for the race and the connections told the jockey to take him well to the front and keep a steady pace and try hold on. It's usually called '' Caught them napping''

Awesome race, awesome horse to have stayed strong and hold the lead as long as Steward did, beautiful stride. Noticed though it was starting to tire towards the end. Awesome ride by the jockey as well, but without them being as one, the outcome may have happened differently ….. This race reminds me of the great Secretariat winning the Triple Crown in the 1970s, of which I had the chance to see him in all his glory. Another great horse was Man O’War, lovingly know as “Big Red”, great stallion setting those early history racing records as well. Love a good race without incidences of abuse and cruelty, but more importantly, love a good rider who understands his/her horse more and will do what is right to guarantee its safety on the track while racing. ❤️👍🙏🏼

This ride reminds me of a horse called Night City. It was ran on the all weather between 1m 2f to 1m 4f, must be 20 years ago now. It used the same tactics each time by doing his sprint at the start going off like a scalded cat and putting a couple of furlongs between him and the rest then just coast home hoping the group wouldn't catch him. I've not seen a horse since try the same method. You always got a run for your money and I landed lots of nice bets on him. This is the closest I've seen to a Night City ride since then.
