Left behind at the start but in front at the line! Hayley Turner masterclass!

Спорт

An outrageously good ride! Hayley Turner shows skill, strength and patience aplenty to win in very unlikely fashion aboard Clap Your Hands at Wolverhampton!

This is one hell of a win. Not only did he miss the start by 10 lengths but was forced to go about 8 wide on the final turn covering more ground than the rest. Super effort.

That was a slow pace and the pace allowed the horse and rider to collect themselves and then mount a charge. Clap Your Hands might have started last but he certainly didn't stay there. Love it when they come out of the pack like that.

It was a good ride, but to be fair it is a hold up horse that thrives from coming off a slow pace. The race was run at a crawl and turned into a 6 furlong sprint, and Protected Guest very rarely sees a race out, so it was ideal for Clap Your Hands.

  • @davidw.robertson448

Not bad, not bad at all - the slow pace helped - and well done to Clap Your Hands. And if you want to see another 'interesting' race I suggest you watch the 1971 Miracle Mile from Perth, Western Australia. Mount Eden loses at least 50 metres at the beginning, catches the others and swamps them in the run home. The rest of the field were all good but Mount Eden's run was stunning. If memory serves me correctly the winner also set a race record.
