The top of the foot consists of many bones, ligaments, tendons, nerves, and muscles. The function of the foot is produced by all of these components and each component is relatively small and complex. For the majority of people, the foot is used more than any other body part. Feet consistently bear the entirety of a person's weight in almost all sports. Needless to say, feet take a beating and are often injured.
Tendons on the top of the foot are responsible for pointing the toes towards the sky (dorsiflexion), and therefore most of the time tendonitis on top of the foot is due to inflammation caused by this action being repeated many times under stress. Activities like running (especially on an un-even grade), hill training, sport that causes frequent change of direction, or even running in poorly fit shoes, can all cause tendonitis of these tendons.
Other causes of pain on the top of the foot include cysts, bones jamming due to fallen arches, stress fractures from trauma, bone spurs due to arthritic conditions, or even pinched nerves. Typical treatment of these conditions includes R.I.C.E. (rest, ice, compression, and elevation) after activity, orthotics, being correctly fit for shoes, or various inserts. Many times strength training of the calves can help to relieve stress.

Thank you guys. I bruised the top of my foot. I am on my feet at work all day. I keep forgetting about this stuff. It works after sitting I am able to stand up and walk with very little issue. I applied the tape about 45 minutes ago
Both techniques should work. The newest video which can be found on our website is the latest version. We are always trying to find ways to make the applications as easy to apply while remaining as effective as possible. The latest version is the most up to date.

I have the same question. But I'm scared of how sticky it is to remove it. Yhe skin therr3 is very thin. Ouch!
You have two videos for pain on top of the foot with conflicting techniques. Could you please clarify which one is the correct one and why? In this video the vertical strip is not stretched and goes under a single lateral strip. In the other video the vertical strip is stretched and goes over two lateral strips. Thanks Jesus
So why was one piece no stretch and the other full stretch?

so that you still have mobility. keeping the foot entirely still will weaken the muscles and make recovery longer

So this video is obsolete? It’s 13 years old….you have another that’s 11 and another that’s 4 months. All have different methods. Maybe remove the older videos to minimize confusion?
