Korg Trident
Музыка
Multitrack recording of the Korg Trident from 1980. There is no midi and limited CV control, so this is pure hard labour jamming those keys. And it is a real joy to play this majestic synth. It’s mostly praised for its haunting strings and pads, but in my opinion it is also extremely suitable for solos, to which the very expressive joystick makes a huge contribution. The built-in flanger is a real bonus. All sounds in this video are from the Korg Trident, except for drums (Roland R8, Boss DR-110 and LoopLoft). There is a trigger input for the Brass section and CV input for the filter, which both are used in the second half.

Thanks Ron! You are lucky to have 2. Trident’s are special. I agree on it being one of the best poly synths out there.
Very nice melodies and leads. I totally enjoyed this!

I have a MK1 and pair it with Korg MS-04 / Korg KR55 --... heavenly. Pleasure to listen and watch your video. You are very talented Sir.

Thanks! Nice setup you have with the Trident, MS04 and KR55. Actually I recently acquired a KR55, after I did this video. I recorded a couple of sessions with it, using the trigger out to sync other stuff. The recordings can be found at www.rimela.nl

@@Bigsbeee Though I don't use the Trident all the time, I suspect I really would regret selling it. If you can, I would hold on to it.

There are synth demo sites, and your prolific productions are top tier. You must have a head full of ideas.

Thank you! These synths just give you inspiration, especially the synths from this era. Because you have to work to make them sound, you get the ideas while you're at it.
Great demo. Had mine since 83 but never sounded as good as this. Will have to spend more time with the old girl and try some funk

Another excellent video on your channel. Your music is quite addictive, to me :) I'm so glad I have a Trident mk1, it's such an inspiring and wonderfull instrument. I got a Polysix, and I thought oh, that's a nice and warm sound. Then I heard the Trident. Woah, that's another level! Thanks for sharing all your awesome music!

Thank you very much! The Trident is special to me. I had to drive 700km there and 700km back to pick it up. So I took my son on a road trip, it was the best weekend ever.

@@74goldenjet Fantastic! If it wasn’t the MS10, the CS15 would be my desert island monosynth

@@rimela interesting, why the Ms-10? I have it, I think it sounds great, but it is a very basic synth. Its oscilator sounds"fatter" than the Ms-20. The pwm is beautiful and the filter/resonance is something special. The architecture of Cs15 intrigues me. Looking fwd to dive into that unexplored territory. :)

@@74goldenjet It's the pure tone of the MS10 that I love. I also have the MS20, which is also fantastic. But I just use the MS10 more often. In the rehearsal room of my band I have an MS10 and CS15 as standard. Sometimes I use a different synth instead of the CS15 but I always need the MS10. In the studio I slightly prefer the MS series over the CS, not so much for sound but rather for connectivity in a modular setup. Anyway, on a desert island I would also be very happy with only a CS15 😃
Impressive work again! Great synth, of course, but the music composition is the best part of the video. What machine drum did you use here ?
@rimela

Thanks Edgard! I used the Roland R8 mk2 (my favorite drum machine) in the first part, @4:20 acoustic drum samples from The Loop Loft and @6:00 the Boss DR-110.
Sounds Sega Genesis! :P Love the songs! It's always cool to hear what our synths can do . :) Thanx! Did you midi kit it?

Hi Rob, thanks for your nice comment! I did not midi kit it. Would be great to have midi on it, but I can live without it.
