    Your work is outstanding. I’m starting to believe you’ll make just about any synth sound otherworldly.

    That IS just how it works with talented musicians. You could give Jeff Beck the most worthless electric guitar in the world and I can guarantee you that he would make it sound like a highly desirable instrument.

    This was a carefully crafted demo of the Prophet-600. There is magic when the pulse is modulated slowly during those arps. I don't own a Prophet-600 but I've always felt it sounded like it had a huge sweet-spot. This video reaffirms my hunch.

    Thank you Patrick! Totally agree with you on the huge sweet-spot. Every time I pull out the P600, it's a matter of a few seconds of tweaking and the magic is there.

    Prior to the Gligli upgrades this would've been my definition of an underrated synth, which was reflected in the low prices they were selling for in comparison to some much less capable machines, in my opinion. Yet another synth I came very close to buying only to pull out at the last moment. In this case, as unlikely as it might seem, I felt that it occupied very similar sonic territory to my JX10! Regardless, I do now somewhat wish that I'd bought it.

    Could you clock the sequencer to a drum machine?

  • @rimela

    @rimela

    Жыл бұрын

    Yes, both the original P-600 as well as the GliGli update have the possibility to sync the clock to external source. The way to set this up differs however. With GliGli be sure to use a recent OS version (in earlier versions the Arpeggiator and Sequencer functions were disabled).

    @@rimela oh right, I had a p600 early 80's with a DX 7,and tr808,, could never manage to clock the sequencer or arpeggio

  • @rimela

    @rimela

    Жыл бұрын

    @@andyfin990 Oh I understand, btw really nice setup back then, but you would have needed another device. The 808 has DIN sync. Roland had ‘Sync Box’ devices like the SBX-80 that were the center for syncing different instruments DIN Sync / MIDI Clock / Trigger Pulse. I think using one instrument (probably rim shot, using all 16 notes or whatever interval) output on the 808 might have been used to sync to the Trigger input of the P-600, but I’m not shure.

    @@rimela cheers for that, I also had a pro one and that sequencer clocked great to the 808, later on had a tr707 and ensoniq 16+ sampler,, great times, sorely missed...👍🙏
