this video is for Nerds only

Музыка

This concept is not easy to grasp because it lacks visuals and requires you to keep track of multiple things in your mind. We utilize voice stacking to send different stacks to other stacks and cross-modulate between voices. We can also use this to extract values from different voices and send them to other voices. It's useful but not something for everyday use. I'm also not sure if you can do this with any synth out there, as most synths have all voices kind of separated.

With due respect, your entire channel is for nerds only (certainly the reason I’m here).

Thanks to your previous video I dig into more complicated voice stacking over the weekend, but I think this video really changed how I think about it!

Hi, here is a video idea: make review of Nimbus. That's an effect that is included in the Surge XT synth. You can use its effects separately if you load up the Surge Xt Effects plugin that's shipped together with the sytnth. Nimbus is based on the legendary Mutable Instruments Clouds eurorack module. It's a realtime granular effect. You seem to like delays and granular, that's why I decided to recommend you to cover this effect. Personally, I like to use the FX Layer with several Nimbus instances with different settings on each and also different pre- and post processing on each layer.

Thank you very much for this video, I tried to extract the modulating sum from polyphony in feedback patches in grid, but it was impossible “the classic” way, because modulation is shared in all voices and quickly becomes recursive and gives not expected results, but the way you show it is totally possible to make sounds like by upcoming Chromaplane or something like Colin Stetson make with his voice through saxophone, very cool!🎉

Be careful not to confuse yourself. Voice stacking is not polyphony. Both can be independent from each other. If you enable voice stacking in a polyphonic grid, you get your stacks of voices per incoming polyphonic voice. So if voice stacking is set to 3 and you play 3 notes, the devices outputs 9 voices.

@@ohcibi thank you for your concern, I was hoping it was clear from my exact comment that I’m totally aware of differences between these two concepts and I was writing exactly about it, maybe I did a poor job explaining myself and/or you didn’t understand what I wrote.

Could you do something similar with effects grid to send the input through the effect N times? These things are fairly straightforward in VCV Rack if you hijack the polyphony system. (So you can't do it and have polyphony.)
