You know you guys brought back memories from when I a toddler in Korea 44 years ago. I remember the eels, the dried sea rays, the snails. It's been so long I have forgotten about Korea, mostly because I got adopted to an American family and been Americanized. I am almost 50, this trip you took to Korea brought back so many memories like it was only yesterday. I haven't forgotten about hearing the screaming pigs being butchered in the streets when someone bought one as well. But those eels what really jogged my memory. I almost went back to Korea when I was in the US Army but at the last minute the Army changed my assignment to Afghanistan.

Aww, that all looked good. Never had Abalone yet but plan on it sometime soon- it's expensive in America. The Hag fish was way strange and the dog shark didn't look very good. All the shrimp looked awesome- and shrimp is my fav- but I've never had it raw before. thanks for another entertaining video.

I believe it's still alive - they cut only a part of the brain off. (Octopus also has brains divided to it's body. Each tentacle can live like and individual, if the command from the dominating brain is not too strong.) Due to its special metabolism it survives the "operation", ALIVE. Even the skin peeling, becaus pain doesn't kill it - it lacks the ability to go into catatonia/shock, obviously. But it remains te ability to resist beibg killed by destroying its tissues. It needs a certain structure to move, smaller pieces might still be alive, but burnig it alive will denaturate/kill it in cell-level for sure. I could not even imagine eating that, even if it had a normal ability to die.

Wondering which whale you preferred, SK or Faroe Islands? Not many people can say they had whale (or bile, or goat poop) on multiple continents. More reasons to love BEFRS/MBEFRS.
