@@dyinhope6840 Nothing except that he was not living there by choice but because of poverty, I'm new to his channel, but Sonny indicated he grew up in poverty multiple times, so I think that is the intended meaning of op's comment.

Its relative cause that fishball maker has been featured on hk and Mainland tv networks more than once, so in his view 4 million viewers doesn't really compare.

This was a really good series Sonny and Virginia was an awesome guide and co host. In fact, I started following her channel after seeing this series.

In the late '70s we lived in Kowloon and a lovely man we knew as 'the fish man' would regularly visit the apartments with a selection of fish. Once you'd chosen what you wanted, he would filet the fish on your doorstep, ready for dinner that day. Always remember that he had a big smile every time we would see him.

She is my favorite guide yet on this show. She absolutely has the most wonderful personality

Your videos are so great it's like an 1.5hour documentary but packed in 15+ minutes I really enjoy watching this show

I was in Hong Kong in 1975 and I was amazed by the foods. I went on from their to Japan, the Philippines, Thailand , South Korea, Vietnam and China. My military career was like a 4-star tour of food to me. I never turned down any food and I never had a bad food. experience. Even met and married my American wife in Japan. Our son was born in Washington D.C. but he was Made In Japan.

I really like this channel, even thought some of the food he eats when visiting tribes are weird and makes me nauseous but it’s really fun and watching this channel is like a better version of national geographic that includes food

I have watched all of the befrs videos and all of the videos from the second channel. So now I am going back through my favorites from befrs. I love this channel for many reasons. One being that I cant afford to travel to these places so watching someone else do it is my only choice and there is nobody else out there who does it better than Sonny.
