Yes he does. If he put all of his money in a normal bank account (which he wouldn't) he could pay for AEW's annual operating costs with the interest. I'm sure that his money is invested so he has a lot more cushion than that. Tony has the resources to play this game for the rest of his life.

Cornette has had years in the business. He knows the business. He also knows what works and doesn't work. When he goes off on trampoline wrestling its because it effects other wrestlers. He saw wrestlers getting huge contracts that belong on the nowhere league. Why? He knows wrestling. The CM Punk fumble was the biggest fumble in years, not since the defections from WCW to WWF in the MNW era. To lose your top wrestler for people who don't draw. You think Vince Mcmahon let anyone step into Austin, Jarrett compained about Austin not wanting to work with him and Cornette backed Austin. Why? Because Austin was the top draw. It want a reign of terror, Which Jarret had in TNA. Did you see Austin and the Rock doing crazy moves in the ring. Look at old school wrestling with Andre the Giant.

I really wish people like Conrad Thompson would stop trying to push the whole "AEW are going to get a 9 figure TV rights deal". They're not. AEW is a considerably smaller company today on all levels from when they signed their last TV contract. So why would AEW get a bigger contract when their audience is so much smaller? Tony Khan is clearly telling people to spread this obviously fake idea.

I've heard rumors that WBD may want AEW on TruTV because they want to build it as a sports network. If that's true, it may have a cost in viewership short term until the audience is used to it. Also the PPVs and the library of both AEW and ROH might go to MAX, which would be great for them. Those deals might make Tony Khan break even and that's enough for him. If at any point WBD wasn't happy with AEW he'd look for some other network, whichever it might be. AEW will be around for as long as he wants, even if the numbers get worse, to the point that Dynamite could be havng the numbers Collision is having now and Collision and Rampage could have the kind of numbers Impact is making now and he wouldn't care. He could have those numbers and he'd still talk about surpassing WWE even if WWE grew. He believes in himself and his product and he loves what he's doing. He's never gonna give it up.

But the fact that you guys think that success and failure doesn't matter, is just stupid. If they don't start turning a profit, if their viewership continues to drop, if attendance continues to drop. Eventually, it will go away. It needs to be successful. To continue.

One thing people like to forget about AEW's October 2019 television debut like with Punk's "surprise" debut. Is how hard Anti-WWE fans, bandwagon NJPW fans, Indy fans, FGC, talent, and content creators shilled AEW as this new Car smell phenomenon. While waving the WWE alternative flag around in WWE's own tweets & video comments section too. You could easily tell Tony was pumping a ton of money behind the curtain to get AEW's debut noticed. I even found out he was talking to WWE talent in 2018(Dean) while under contract. This is why Jericho went on to scout talent for Tony in his NJPW run using the Vince WrestleMania Owens match comments as an excuse. I'm also someone who's played Genshin Impact since its September 2020 launch. miHoYo who at the time was just a Miku, RWBY, and anime inspired small time Gacha company working on Honkai Impact 3rd. Splashed their hands in creating something they had little to no experience with. A cel shaded open world RPG Gacha. Something never done and still looks impressive on a fucken phone. Constantly meet with entitled toxic Nintendo Breath of the Wild fanboys shitting on it acting like it was gonna flop a month in. 1 thing people forget also is how miHoYo 1st took this concept to Microsoft, and they flat out turned them down because of the same shit BoTW fans regurgitated. Sony took a chance on them when everyone kind of kicked them down, and this is also why miHoYo has never looked back on Nintendo's Switch release. While giving Sony the Sword & Wings of Descension(Travelor's original weapon & wings), Aloy insert, a pretty reasonable bundle every patch for PS plus members, and the shitty PS5 skin roulette bundle. I've kept an eye on both AEW & Genshin Impact's development, marketing, draw power, and overall impact on the world these past 4 years. Out of the 2 products 1 went on to: Create recognizable stars every 2 months with solid writing/video production. Become a household brand. Make record breaking revenue in the Billions! range every year. Leave physical monuments across the globe. Popularize Gachas to the point big gaming companies like Capcom & Square-Enix bandwagoned the craze. Got way too many sponsorships/w tons of phone collabs for their top drawing stars. Have casuals wearing their merch to flex or shit public skits popularizing KZread Shorts. Re-shape the cosplay/Art,/MMD/meme/AI community. Give Chinese scale(figure) manufacturers like APEX & Myethos the Undertaker caliber rub to where they're now Gacha go tos. Essentially made nobody content creators making pull videos into entitled somebodies milking toxicity. Made the Video Game Awards clown Geoff Keighley change his attitude in how they view HoYo games. Got an Anime in the works by 1 of the most prestigious studios out there Ufotable who are known for the insane Fate animation. Got tons of physical unofficial fan made content to the point convention booths admit their only items selling is their IP. Flooding ebay/Amazon/Buyee/AliExpress listings with an insane amount of entries of people selling their special collab, official/unofficial merch, and bootlegs. Constantly trending top 10 monthly to weekly about anything such as patch announcements, character birthdays, fanarts/cosplays, drama, ships, meta takes, pulls, and even leaks that aren't always true. Bank employers having to be briefed over the monthly influx of spending halts to credit cards, cus they're just pumping too much at once. Feeding great soo many FansOnly, Twitter, PornHub, Twitch, KZread, and Vtuber thots who sap the influx of beta cucks intoxicated by this insane Waifu craze currently spear fronted by them 3 years strong. Having to compete with its own IPs because they've gained this much momentum within the initial run. Creating 2 more IPs with sufficient funds and buzz to expand the juggernaut brand. Concerts that legit feel more passion driven than a Pro. Wrestling show going All In. I could still go on, but I legit bored myself now. Even if you hate or eye roll them over their insane success. There's no way you haven't heard or seen Genshin's content in some way or shape at places you frequent. While improving over the course of its lifespan. Sure! Fuck time gates, artifact system, pull 50/50 RNG, and lack of post endgame content. But you can't say the big events/expansions/units/promotional videos aren't fun or ambitious. Plus if you actually do more than dailies, events, and Abyss! You can get enough Primos to pull a 5 star unit every patch. Off chests, open world quests, redemption codes, and Stardust exchange. With great longevity value 4 star units! Trust me I know this, cus I've actually done it! You don't need to catch them all like it's Pokemon. Learn to save up FFS for units you genuinely want! While I was rambling about Genshin's accomplishments I've witnessed over the years(even taken part of). I legit forgot I was talking about AEW here! Well what can I say about it other than they've legit kind of just been there! Even losing their hardcore audience bit by bit to WWE or other popular FOMO hobbies. Like FGC, physical Game Collecting, TCG collecting, Vtubers, FansOnly thots/illustrators, Anime, and Gachas. Wrestling is just a dying breed outside of WWE. You'd be surprised how many Wrestling Fans today are Genshin fans/bandwagoners. All I've seen these past few months when I glance back on Pro Wrestlingtube content. It's floods of shameless click baits! All these content creators REALLY just milking Vince allegations like it's One Piece theories. Flexing their hollow morals purely for profit. It just turns people away honestly, and casuals only care about the current Rock heel run protecting Roman's reign.

You mean the same Eric Bishoff who ran WCW into the ground by beating the NWO angle to death. He had WWE on the ropes and he let them off the hook to quote Dennis Green. By favoring certain wrestlers - other talent ran to the WWE and made them more successful. Unless Eric personally saw the books he is just guessing. He also knows unlike him Tony Khan can keep AEW going until he is bored of it - Eric's jealous and it is jealousy because no matter what he says about AEW - Tony can ignore it and still keep his company running. Jim Cornette is the old school guy who loves wrestling and gets pissed because Tony is not running his company like the old school model that wrestling used to be. Again no matter what he says about it - Tony's company will still keep going - I don't mind Eric's & Jim's critiques but they should know that it won't matter in the end because Tony is that wealthy and he is living his dream. He will only stop when he gets bored of it. So they can call him a mark all they want - he is a rich mark that is living his dream.

When AEW or TNA, or any other promotion, gets an influx of viewers, they are not casual viewers - they are wrestling fans watching the alternate wrestling show. Specifically WWE fans. Casual audience is what sparks true growth, and casuals don't watch for the wrestling. They tune in for a character and stay for the story. WWE has always been character-focused, so they've had steady growth as a company consistently (even if show ratings and attendance would go up and down). AEW is more wrestling focused, so they won't attract casuals. The best they can do right now is convince WWE fans to also start watching AEW. Since AEW's business is tied to wrestling fan migration, it will only see growth in proportion to what WWE does to grow the overall audience. The only way for them to break out of that model is to create their own weekly attractions. Only wrestling fans will follow Adam Copeland to a different show. AEW has to create something that is completely unique and exclusive to their brands. People didn't flock to the TV because Austin was a great worker or because of Hogan & Savage's star power. They came because Austin was creating weekly chaos, drinking beer and cussing and because the nWo was seemingly working off-script and Sting was in the rafters. It was cool and new, regardless of work rate or star ratings.

If AEWs ratings keep going down they'll be off of TV which is bad for the business itself. Tony NEEDS to hire a booking committee. The people who work for him need to listen to the agents too. When you hear that they have people like Lance Storn, Jerry Lynn and Dean Malenko backstage, you wonder why most of the matches are dogshit. Either the wrestlers don't know and don't want to learn how to work a more realistic style, instead it's a bastardized version of Lucha, Strong Style Puro, or a hybrid of both styles. Very few can work that style and make it look good, like an actual struggle. Some people phone it in like Mox and Kingston, some have no business being there like Riho and Pockets
