It is uncanny how you knit things that look perfect on the other. I think the red jumper looks amazingng on Jackie. The colour really suits you, it brightens up your face Just stunning. Just to reassure you that your fluffy babies are adorable. Very excitable. I personally do not mind them. I am so glad I came across your podcast. I love it.

I love how each of your knits is connected to a meaningful story. Knitting for me has been focused on the product I am creating as well as skill acquisition, rather than an emotion or idea that I am connecting to. Knitting for others has given me a great opportunity to think more deeply about my knits and that I love and appreciate about those I am knitting them for. This past year I knit a different cowl for each of my friends for their birthdays. I had so much fun picking a pattern and yarn that I felt highlighted the beauty and personality of each one of them! Sometimes it is so hard to see those things about myself when I am knitting. Your friendship and love of knitting and yarn has inspired much deeper thought about what I am knitting and why, so thank you! Also, in spring I gravitate towards teals, soft pinks, and springy greens.

I have watched this in three sittings. It´s just heartwarming how in tune with each other you are, how much love respect and support there is in your relationship. When you both in unison leaned in and said, but we will, of course we´ll show the objects! - woah, that was your relationship in its essence. You understand each other and it's expressed so naturally and beautifully in your podcast. I love watching and listening to you. Thank you for sharing so much. ( P.S. I'm finding that some things in knitting that people find easy are a struggle for me but things people find a challenge or tedious are fairly simple and straightforward when I try them. Kinda like my garden. I can grow things people find very difficult but I cannot for the life of me get simple summer squash to grow to a decent size. Go figure. It's like what you were talking about with sizing and bodies: we are all unique and we just have to figure ourselves out. That Suri you showed, Jackie, is fantastic. Hooray that it enticed you to go the next step to the BFL and spinning that gorgeous yarn. I LOVE the pressed flowers swatch!!! And I ordered some cashmere after seeing your bra/bralette because of your comments, Carmen. ha!)

I love how you are really detailed about your critique. I do a ton of test knits and that is something I do not like about it. I modify everything but you really should not do a lot of that when test knitting. Also I see a ton of gorgeous sweaters that were expertly executed but they do not look good on the person. I am very much like you in breaking each part down and how can I make it better. Bravo!!!

Aw thank you Mindy!! And yes, I totally know what you mean about making mods with testknits and I find it really depends on the designer. Many of them actually appreciate them and sometimes it leads to them changing the pattern in that way. But other times you’re absolutely right that we have to follow what’s written. And yes, it’s always interesting to see how a sweater can look amazing on one person and then fit completely differently on another! But I guess that is the reason for mods in the first place! So we can adapt a design to fit our particular and unique shapes!

I have to lay it to the side for a week or 2. Then when I try it on with the mindset that I hate it - I always change opinion and like it a lot. Funny how that works!! Just finished watching the entire episode and now i have one more comment. I would suggest the combination with Morker, Jackie it will look amazing on you. Carmen, your Fleur shawl is a dream and regarding spring colours, you set me thinking but my interest in the brighter colours definitely increases as spring approaches, i see myself in reds, goldens, peaches and bright greens. All the bright, jewel colours for me always! Much love your way, ladies. Keep rocking the podcast, always unedited and unfiltered. 👏👏

Carmen you make me want to knit all the things! I love your soft barely pink shawl so much and I never wanted to make a Stria cardigan until I saw yours. That gray is so perfect and those little color pops are just amazing. Jackie I love your lunae shawl combo I was going to knit it eventually in a high contrast combo but you have made me rethink that so we'll have to see what happens but it definitely got me thinking. You always have a way of making me think about my knits differently than before in the best possible way. What I love most about you two is the way you are always telling each other how awesome you look and how your knits are so amazing. It's so great to see women lifting each other up like that and I always go away after watching your podcast feeling so happy and hugged 😊 in answer to your questions my spring palette does change but not because of spring I go through color moods in my knitting although my palette of colors stay the same. I love gray, purple, green, yellow, and blue the most so they tend to heavily feature in my knits. I have found this year my yarn choice has changed though. Usually I am all about the non super wash wools but lately it's been linen all over the place with a tiny bit of cotton thrown in. For spring knits I would say joji locatelli's like a cloud cardigan is my best spring knit right now. I am disabled and deal with a lot of physical pain so my wardrobe has had to change to things that feel good to wear while I'm feeling terrible and that cardigan feels so luxurious and it's perfectly not too hot or too cold. I knit it in the recommended yarn which is no longer available but it's basically a lace weight and a mohair. It's a tooth pick knit for sure but it was so fun it went so fast! I knit mine in a color called velvet which is a perfect dark purple plum color. Thanks for the wonderful podcast. Love to you both!

I love your handspun swatch with the darker Nutiden, Jackie; it shows off the handspun incredibly well. (I am making a Pressed flowers with a darker MC [teal] and a multi bright CC [Zauberball Starke 6 in Malerwinkel, a pastelish rainbow with bright pops], so my personal bias may be present in this opinion.) YES, do that for the sweater and the other for the shawl! What a plan. Thank you for being such a mindful, present part of my knitting and my life. I love your vibe, and I like the kitchen setting. First time watching you two. Love the Sheepcamp sweater you made. It’s on my list to make. Now I need to look at my Nutiden stash and my handspun stash. Especially loved the conversation about how you imagine you will look in the sweater you are making . That is so true. I will rethink about how I think I will look in something I am making. I would rip out the red cable sweater. You won’t wear it otherwise. The grey sweater so beautiful. Off to watch the rest of the podcast. Glad to have found you.

What another fabulous episode! I thoroughly enjoyed the chat across your kitchen table, watching your puppies patter across nearby. That gorgeous opening sweater, your sheepcamp is stunning and looks so beautiful on you. But oooh, I’m so sorry Jackie as I too audibly gasped when Carmen tried it on. And my hubby would be deep deep trouble if he had made any hints about turkeys… And your Lunae shawl, is stunning! I love it! Much as I love neutrals, I find it so hard to pair for low contrast knits somehow, and you’ve done it so perfectly. I also vote Mörker 😉 it really does make your lovely hand spun shine. And Carmen, how liberating to have made something that fits you so snugly and perfectly to be supportive! I hope this inspires more joy with the bot-inspired red cable sweater. And how is your spring 10 degrees?! That’s like our winter (and a bad winter day lol!). Mid autumn and it’s very springy today at 25. I don’t think my spring palette changes - greys and blues, or beige/rust/browns forever… but I think last spring did have me reaching more out of my colour comfort zone into greens and dare I say, pinks (!). And spring also means - shawl knits! I am in the middle of a grey “Sunup on 82nd” sweater for our winter, so thank you for accompanying me in the last stretch of plain stockinette on the body - onto the ribbing! Thank you for the inspo to push outside my colour comfort, and for adding even more projects to the knit-queue.

As someone said already, you makes us want to be there and chat and reply instantly 😅. This is the first time that I haven't seen your podcast in one time (life..) so I forgot about some of the things I wanted to say👀. By the way, loved the sheep camp (it's on my list) and it's perfect on both of you. I prefer the pressed flower version in morker (the hand spun yarn shines 😍). Since I started knitting like crazy 😅 I have a hard time transitioning to summer, cause it's quite hot where I live, and I love wool, so... My colors stays almost the same during the year, but they get lighter and brighter going towards summer ( I am a blue person, and love teal, turquoise, some greens and grey), and since knitting with good yarns like nutiden I can find my self knitting totally new to me colors. I've made a #nofrillsweater in ljus 2021, and wear it every day 😅. Thank you for the chat, have fun with your spinning wheels (trying lo learn here 😊)

So many good things in this episode! Time seems to fly whenever I watch your podcast. The Sheep Camp sweater is high on my list, and I love how you incorporated your handspun, Jackie. Carmen, I think the red sweater is worth exploring further. I agree that the sleeves are too big but I think the body of the sweater looks great on you! For the Pressed Flower Shawl, I am partial to the darker main color. I just love the way the handspun pops against the purple! For transitional pieces, I'm still exploring what tees and tanks I like but I did finish the Nightshift Shawl a couple months ago and it has become my go-to shawl for this in-between time. It fits similarly like a cowl on me but with more room around my neck (something that I love). And it's mosaic! And you can use handspun! For colors, I definitely tap into my inner pollinator. I love bright pinks, purples, oranges, and yellows....I just want to capture sunshine and flowers into my knits. I also lean into my sock knitting as the seasons change. But I'm also drawn to lighter and more muted colors of pinks and greens. This year I've also been attracted to lavender! And lastly, I see neutrals as whites, blacks, grays, and browns....so anything that is undyed wool? Although I do think some blues, like navy, are neutrals, too. But anything else seems too colorful to be a neutral!

Hello ladies, Your combined energy is so fun, I managed to watch the entire episode in one sitting! The colors for Jackie's Lunae Shawl are so elegant. Really like the low contrast in the mosaic work, and it still shows the pattern from afar. I bought this pattern after you showed it as a WIP. Your projects show so much thought and planning... the Sheep Camp sweater, the previous shown improvised Twigs, pressed flowers cardigan etc. You know when you hit a home run with a project, which makes it all that much harder (I''m finding) to keep up the high quality. Making garments with soul is the goal though. I'm currently working on a pressed flowers cardigan using Tukuwool fingering wt. I tried many swatches in Nutiden and just couldn't land on a color combo that I was happy with... may still try though. Jackie's swatch in the light pink can be imagined as a big hug, would be a softer look than the darker background color. The bralette idea is really interesting, and is a lovely way to use those precious cashmere skeins. That's another pattern to check into! BTW the Sheep Camp sweater really picks up Carmen's hair color. So Jackie, possibly add some of her hair color to yours and keep the sweater - haha

Girls, I love your podcast. Every time I think I'm sitting with you in my house or yours, until I'm disappointed to realise it's just an illusion, but it's still great. A German designer, Torsten Duit, has published a book inspired by Netflix movies. It's called Knitflix and it's full of great designs. At one of his workshops I asked him to sign the book and he wrote: You decide what is beautiful. That's what he told us during the workshop and he means it very seriously and honestly. Maybe you should make that your motto too. Kind regards from the north of Germany.

Jackie, re: the Spring palette question - it's almost Summer now, but I've been using so many colors that none have been dominant. Every color has its place (to me), but I've used a lot of greens, creams, corals and yellows in the past few months/. Not my favorite colors, but I have been finishing WIPs, trying not to start anything new. I've knit a bunch of vanilla socks lately. The Elliott 2x2 beanie. A Half & Half Triangles Shawl are also recent FOs. I really want to get to sweaters, but the WIPs must be finished

can't help with summer knit ideas, as here in Iceland, what we call summer is still pretty cool most of the time by most people's standards -- i wear my woolly sweaters year-round, hooray! and I'm a minimal/muted-color person, perhaps like Jackie before her recent color renaissance? i'm currently wildly in love with the Solvända colorway from the last nutiden collection, that slightly-yellowy-slightly-multicolored grey fabulousness -- but also incredibly looking forward to the bright grassy-green coming in the new set, because i love green & am craving it after a long pastel winter. that said, currently knitting a test-knit shawl for Teti Lutsak (my second, actually -- first was Solvända + Morker, hurrah!) in Mogen, that peachy-pink, plus a gold-colored mohair, so this is pretty darned colorful for me -- except i doubt i'll keep it, i think it's a gift for a friend. so, a little spring-y, but mostly still muted and subdued colors for me -- which might be related to having been somewhat largely-endowed bust-wise on an otherwise relatively small frame all my life, and never wanting to call attention to that aspect of my shape, and so have tended to gravitate toward blacks and greys for my top half, and let all the riotous color happen in skirts and that kind of thing. in my mid-50s and still haven't grown past that... too much color, especially bright, and especially big patterns, on the top half of my body and i just feel like i look like a couch (even though i doubt that i really do to anyone but me).

Oh Laura thank you for your comment! It really helps us get to know you better! Teti makes such beautiful patterns so I don’t blame you for knitting it twice! And that mogen plus a gold mohair is a dream combo so I hope you do decide to keep it! But if you don’t, there will be someone very lucky who will receive it! Also that is interesting about the colour decisions you’ve made and it’s quite in line with how we’ve been thinking about how what we think looks good on us might be influenced by our thoughts about our bodies more than how it looks in any kind of objective way. If there is any actual objective reality to begin with! Also hope that you got the gorgeous green in the recent update!!!

Oh Jackie! Your spinning is gorgeous! I love that you are putting it into a Pressed Flowers "something". I totally sympathize with your colour choices conundrum. What if you were to use your handspun as the main colour, and the nutiden as the flowers? That way you can really see a better representation of the beautiful hand spun. If you were to knit as your peach swatch with handspun flowers, each flower will have multiple colours as the rows grow, as opposed to your swatch, where each flower has its own colour. Just a thought. 😊 Regarding my favourite top for this time of year, it has to be one of my Ranunculus (Ranunculi? what's plural Ranunculus?), 3/4 sleeve with ribbed cuffs, knit in Quince and Co Kestral. It's "heavy" because it's a worsted linen, right? But it also breaths beautifully, because of the linen! I'd have to say that's my all time favourite shoulder season sweater. Happy knitting, and spinning, and I can't wait to see you next time!!! 💗

Marg!! I think that’s a fantastic idea for Jackie to reverse the handspun/nutiden to mc/cc! And you’re right that then the flowers would all be the same colour. She could even change the colour of the flowers each row as well!

Jackie i cast on at least 10 items at a time and trade off between them all. Picking up what i feel like knitting then move on to next. I have so many close to 3/4 finished 😂 i always think, how quick could i finish just one item at a time. I may never know. I’m knitting the ciorcal sweater (3 of 10) in the mörker(sp) nutiden and it is such a massive knit. Love this color too and the 2x2rib 😅 ha can’t wait to finish it. You both inspire me with the FO’s. All my FO’s have been gifts. Wonder why i can complete those and not knits for myself 🤔 not so deep thoughts 💭 by me 😊 ❤

I love your podcasts, your aesthetics, and your knitting interpretations. I just started watching your podcasts, so I am going back in time. You have a beautiful friendship together. You helped me already decide I need A-line shape sweaters to feel flattered by my garment. My take on the red sweater is that it has a Victorian effect with mutton sleeves and fitted waist. This is not a comfortable look for Carmen just as the red color is not a comfortable color for Jackie. I think it can be saved though - by narrowing the sleeves and widening the waist. But maybe the mutton fit across the shoulders is too pronounced with the non-draping yarn. Carmen has probably already made another sweater from the yarn. Remember Norah Gaughan's incredibly beautiful sweater in Pom Pom - the Nightingale, it took a special person to be comfortable in it. I love the yarn Jackie spun and either color choice for the pressed flower shawl will work. I like the peachy color and I think I even have that Nutiden color and I do plan on knitting more pressed flower patterns.

Ava!!! I 💯agree with all of what you said! I do not feel comfortable in that shape plus I think the fabric created by the fibre doesn’t really work with it either. Haha I have not knit anything else with it though. We will see if/when that ever happens!

I also have the Soe on my queue, and initially contemplated using Drops Air, which seems to match the drape and loft of the yarn used in the pattern pretty well. Alternatively, I could use Nutiden from stash, which would give more structure?

You two are such a mindful podcasters! I have a question about the Bright Sweater. I'm going to purchase my first Nutiden and would like to know how much you used for that lovely sweater. Should I purchase a single 500g plaate or a 500 and 300g plate? I have no idea after having listened to your knitting trip with this yarn.
