From Rachel, I am glad someone else understands what I have to live with 😂
I discovered your channel a short time ago and now I’m watching from the beginning. Love your knits and your joy of knitting, and sewing
Rhinebeck is loads of fun and very overwhelming. You do need to go with a plan or list in mind but also don’t shut down the idea of seeing something that you fall in love with and taking it home or you will regret it. There aren’t usually sales or special deals but being able to see so many brands and colors in one place is awesome. Love your podcast. Please keep going.

Thank you so much! That is such good advice, I cannot even imagine how much beautiful yarn has to be at Rhinebeck! And seeing it all in one weekend!! Fun and overwhelming must be right 😂❤
I agree, going to a yarn festival and seeing so much yarn is very overwhelming. However, coming up with plans using specific patterns is also very overwhelming! Instead, I look on my Ravelry pages and note how many yards I used for projects at any given weight. Knowing how much yarn I used for a DK, fingering, worsted (etc.) project vs what the pattern calls for helps me buy the correct amount of yarn without committing to a specific pattern.

That is such a great idea! We often find that we have a little bit more leftover than the pattern calls for so keeping track of what you actually use is a great idea! We need to start now so maybe next year we will have enough info for if we do get to go to a yarn festival 🤗
The Margaux Top is absolutely gorgeous and I am adding it to my "to make" list. I also love hearing how confident you are about knitting and changing up the pattern of the Humlebi Socks. I am a newbie sock knitter and still figuring out how it all works, hearing your confidence in being able to change up certain parts makes me excited for my sock knitting future. :)

Thank you so much!! I feel like socks can be kind of polarizing for knitters, some people love to knit them and some people definitely don't! Once you find what you like though, they can be so relaxing 🤗
Thank you for the shout out! It was great to meet you and your family, Rachel. We are so happy you enjoyed your visit.
I'm so glad I found your podcast! It's so fun to see your projects. I'm really glad you mentioned coast to coast yarn; I found the perfect yarn there for my next project, after looking at over 20 online yarn sites. Thanks!

We are big Coast to Coast fans around here! ❤
For knowing how much yardage to buy - I keep a knitting journal (pen and paper style) and on one page, I write down a list of all the patterns that I really want to make. I put the pattern name, yarn weight, and how much I would need for my size. This makes it really easy to reference any time I go to a yarn store or festival!
You two are amazing, wonderful finished and wip’s - love both your personalities!! Great tips for me who is more beginner.
Y’all are so brave making so many wearables in white! I’m always scared I will stain them 🙃

Always so fun when I see you’ve put out a new podcast……I’ve really loved your socks the last several. Episodes. Your color choices are beautiful!
I am so happy for seeing this, today. Well done God bless you and keep you ❤
Love everything you are making. The colours really suit you. Thanks for another lovely episode
Wonderful new episode, both of you are bringing so much inspiration. Thank you!
Beautiful knits again. Thank you for a another lovely episode. I do hope you get to some festivals soon and can share your experience (and purchases 😁) with us 😊
I watched all your episodes and truly enjoyed your content! i feel motivated to finish my twist loop top, the summer is almost over but my summer knits are definitely not done yet!
Enjoyed the podcast. You both are so fun to listen to and very encouraging. Woolfolk is a fabulous yarn. I’m A big fan.

Would love to meet you at Rhinebeck some day. I live nearby so we go every year. I used to get overwhelmed and feel the need to buy all the things but I feel like this year I am really looking forward to just meeting other makers and enjoying the energy. And the cider donuts. 😉

We’ve never met a cider donut we didn’t love! 🍎🍩 That’s such a good outlook on Rhinebeck though! We love the idea of connecting with other markers who love fiber and building community. Hope you have the best time this year!!
I’m working on a striped sweater from some scrapyarn that my kid will wear next year. Love the cami no 5 in white. I really want to knit a light coloured ribbed tank this fall.
Thanks for keeping me company as I worked on my Jennie tee. We have two major yarn festivals a year where I am and I always have a few sweaters in mind but pretty well just research what kind of yardage I need for sweaters in each weight before I go.

Love the podcast! I have the levitate wrap planned for this fall, and I bought yarn knowing I'd be playing yarn chicken, so thank you for the information about yarn consumption.

Just found your podcast and really enjoy it. I also just found out about Unwind Fiber in Lee’s Summit thru Knitty Knatty video. Of course a quick trip from Springfield Mo was in order. And what a beautiful shop it is. And gorgeous yarns which has to come home with me 😊. Currently I have a Stained Glass Cowl and a Flax Pullover on my needles. Will be catching up on your podcasts and look forward to the next one

Lovely podcast! I crochet, but working on knitting! Working on a knit baby blanket.
Just came across your podcast and loving it. Also just subscribed. Listening to you from Melbourne Australia.
Rhinebeck always happens right around my birthday so hopefully I can go one year! I wish KS had some kind of wool festival. I’d definitely go. I’m currently test knitting a brioche/garter cowl in some coast to coast natural extrafine and undyed suri and dreaming of cooler weather.

Same, we’d be the first ones to sign up for a festival in the area! That cowl sounds gorgeous! It’ll be perfect for when the heat breaks and we finally get some fall weather!
I'm knitting a petiteknit sweater right now that wants increases on both the wrong and right sides. She tells you to do the purl side increases fairly loosely so maybe that would stop the puckering effect you are experiencing. I just discovered your podcast and can't wait for more episodes! Loving the neutral palette 🤎🤍

hey you two! I've loved the gro hat from fiber tales since seeing it in our local yarn shop, so happy to see you make it! asking your sibling to finish an unloved wip as a gift has to be one of the best ideas ever haha, unfortunately my little brother does not knit! :D and I might have to copy erin and you guys with the potato and leek sock set, it just looks perfect and shows off the colors amazingly :) planning for flock was so much fun and I would definitely recommend plan a wishlist with patterns and yardages before attending a wooly festival or at least think about what you might like to shop for, which in and of itself is a fun activity in my books, win win ❤

I wish I had someone who can finish my double knitting for me 😅 loved all the warm neutrals you showed in this episode - I’m in awe at how many cardigans the two of you knit, I’m only on my second one right now and feel like I always need a good long break after finishing one (and all the purling).

Lol find yourself a really nice knitting friend 😂 I feel like that could be a good knit-exchange, like I don't enjoy picking up stitches but I don't mind doing tubular bind on/off, so that could be a knitting trade idea to finish those abandoned wips 😂 and thank you so much!! I think we are in our cardigan era, I have never knit this many in a year before but there are so many good patterns out there! ❤

Rachel, I love that your Christmas present was for Jessica to do the part of the knitting you don't enjoy. That is very sweet. I like your comment that you are on a summer knitting journey. I have a few summer knits that I don't wear that much and I am trying to work out what qualities in need in a summer top for me to reach for it to wear. Colour, weight, style, what other item(s) of clothing I plan to wear them with. I would like to be more thoughtful and intentional about what I am making and hopefully that will see me making things I wear more and fit my wardrobe. The tops you are wearing look gorgeous on you both.
@thosetwinswhoknit

Jessica was so nice to finish it for me 🥰 I agree, summer knitting can be tricky! I am also trying to be more intentional in my summer knits. I have found that I like tops that have a higher neckline, which was a learning process for sure! Your version of the Audrey top was beautiful!! I am getting excited about moving into fall knitting here soon and will be so excited to see what you knit up!❤
Loving your podcast! Just because the internet is a scary place it may be a good idea to not share so much information about where you live. I hope this isn’t taken the wrong way just want everyone to stay safe!

Thank you! I’m not 100% sure since they had been sitting in a drawer for a long time, but most of our buttons come from Joanns or Michaels, so nothing too fancy. We’d love to find some more unique button suppliers soon!
I love hearing about the stores you shop at. I have been to Unwind a few times when I’ve visited friends in KC and also Angelika’s in Independence. Have you been there? Are there not yarn festivals in your area?
@thosetwinswhoknit

We have not been to Angelika’s yet, but we’re hoping to participate in the KC yarn crawl this year, so hopefully we will make it then! We’re not familiar with any yarn festivals in the area, but maybe overtime that will change. We can hope at least!
Hey ladies! I've now binged all of your videos (looking forward to more!), and I was wondering where you guys like to buy your linen pants. I've seen a few brands floating around IG, but wanted to know where you like to shop!

So far we’ve had good luck at Nordstrom, Madewell, and Abercrombie for linen pants, but we’d love to get to the point where we could make them ourselves one day!

Does anyone know of a yarn store in or close to Tyler, Tx.? We only have a Joann’s , Michaels, and Hobby Lobby. There is nothing wrong with their yarn and I do use them, but I would love to go to a yarn store. It is 105 here so knits are not real popular, but I am currently making shawls etc. Love your videos.

Why do you call this a podcast when it’s just a video or do you have a podcast that I can listen to on my iPhone?
@thosetwinswhoknit
11 ай бұрын
To the best of our knowledge, the knitting community just decided this was the terminology for this type of video. We’re not sure who started the trend, but we wondered the same thing when we started watching knitting podcasts!

I just referred to them as videos because if I can’t find a podcast to listen to on my iPhone then that’s a podcast anyway, I just wondered. Enjoy you too always wanted twins myself. Until I had two little foster kids that were basically the same age, and that definitely changed my mind about wanting to have twins, but U2 are lovely.
