Dear Maangchi I have a Korean husband so I've always appreciate your recipes for Korean dishes. I've been follow few of them and they turned out so well , just like what I imagined. However, for your "flower shaped steamed bun".....I have another fantastic video recipe that I recommend . kzread.info/dash/bejne/q6Vlw8yue5Xck9o.html It's really good and I just want to share with you.

Maangchi what do you make when you are home sick? The flu has been going around and I was wondering what you eat and drink? Do you have any favorite recipes?
I love that Maangchi wore "Princess Leia"-like hair buns for this video.

In Germany we have a similar dish called „Dampfnudeln“ which means steamed noodels. They are made in a pan, not only to cook them directly in little water for the steam but to get them a saltcrust on the bottom. It is nice to read in the comments that there are similar dishes in different countries and cultures. So we are not at all that different as humans ;-)

I love your energy, very calm and soothing hahaha if I'm home alone and feeling anxious I come watch and learn new things and slowly the anxiety melts away. You have a very healing aura and it's definitely a bright light in the world. Thanks Maangchi!
Forgot to mention, there is a variance of this bun back at where I came from, instead of the vegetable oil, we use a mixture of Scallions and "Onion oil" which is made with oil heated with Scallions and onions in it; Also, instead of sugar, we sprinkle a little salt before rolling it up. In Chinese, it is called 葱油花卷, which translates to onion oil rolls. Please give it a try and I hope you will like it.

“You can use the wine bottle” best advice ever! Lol

A wine bottle is the only rolling pin my Grandmother ever had. She had the same one my whole life, but I have no idea where it came from since she never drank any alcohol. She told me once she found it by the rail road tracks next to her yard, but she said the the same thing about her children.
Maangchi voice is so soothing. This is like the 10th time I fell asleep or nap during her videos. I love you Maangchi, my Korean mama 😂♥️♥️♥️

'Thank you, my friend! You have been following me over 4 years!
This looks amazing. Thank you Maangchi for breaking down the technique for us.
I am happy to seeing you in youtube I learn a lot from your food you cook and your story about the food.
To be honest I am Chinese, and on your channel there have been so many things that I see and go “oh my mom or grandma made this! It’s Chinese food and korean food, that’s really cool!” And when I make them, my parents always tell me to send them the recipe because it tastes so good! I really like the food you make, you are an amazing cook but the favorite thing for me to make is the korean donuts. I ate them a lot when I was in China too! I hope to one day visit Korea.
If you're having yeast trouble, use a thermometer! The water should be between 105-110℉. If it's too hot, the yeast will die and sink to the bottom instead of floating on top and foaming.

I always put 1 cup of cold water + 1/2 cup of hot water and it rises and maybe skip the salt one because salt kills the yeast but it might add flavor...
