The pump on my dispenser broke today and I couldn’t get the lock nut off from under the sink. So, I KZreadd to get ideas but came across your video. Guess where I’m going tomorrow? I can’t wait! Im going to use your idea and I won’t have to deal with dish soap running all over the back of the sink again. Thank you!

I like how you drilled a hole to attach the hose. May I suggest opening the top of the soap bottle to allow air to enter and prevent negative pressure. Thanks for the video and taking the time to show us a better way. I've always thought of doing this and now I will.

I put my soap in an old propane tank. Then I pressurize it at 15psi. I don’t have to pump. I just open a valve. My daughter, Cricket, played a trick on the family once by raising the pressure to 55psi. Soap flew through the kitchen and it hit the far wall 27 feet away in the living room. I was glad no one got hurt.

Thank you so much for the check valve hack! We had purchased a soap dispenser with the long hose but were so frustrated with it. This works. Soap had kept going back down to the container. The pump was working fine except the pump's internal valve went bad. This essentially replaces that valve. Now it works great. I moved the check valve closer to the pump.

So I had to do this several times. The out side of the check valve was a little smaller in diameter then the in side. The silicone didnt hold. Don't give up! This gal ended up putting a little bit of thread seal tape around the "out" side of the valvet so it would be a snug fit & used hot melt glue to seal it together 🤷‍♀️ I also put the check valve much closer to the soap container rather than in the middle. A heckuva lot less pumping . Thanks :) works great

if your pump is working correctly, the issue of it going down will not happen.. the reason it goes down is because the ball (check valve) inside the mechanism that blocks suction from going down is dirty and needs to be cleaned.. that little ball inside allows for air to go up, but not down.... all you have to do is once every few months just clean it with vinegar and hot water.... problem solved... that's what I do and works very nice.

Macster, I think you are correct! Ours worked perfectly for years with no check valve…just stuck the tubing on and put it inside the top of the soap dispenser and it has been fine. However, over time the dishsoap collects in the pump assembly and it just needs to be cleaned. It works perfectly now without the check valve!

Great concept. Why halfway? Why not in the bottom of the bottle? Put a 2 inch tubing on the bottom with an angle cut so that it can't suck itself to the bottom of the bottle, but another benefit will be that when you change bottles, less goo escapes during the swap.

What I did was filled up the original bottle and poured it into a measuring cup for some reason I think it was 8 ounces. So when I did fill it up, I poured in 7 ounces and used a funnel, and it worked pretty well. Having said that the big bottles much easier.

Moen was new, the plastic tube was only pushed over the first rib that is supposed to seal and create suction. I used a tiny pick to pry it over the last 2 ribs and voila it works. Chinese factory oversight of an msrp $180 item is so good lol. QC sucks at Moen. I checked the sucking part/ pump and it was working independent of the pump handle/nozzle portion. Went from there. Good luck.

I did everything like the video but my pumper had no lift to it. It would work with a 6" tube but even then it took quite a number of pumps to get it started, like maybe 70. I must have bought the wrong silicon too because the stuff I bought made everything slippery and loose. I had to thoroughly clean the valve and cut the tubing back to virgin plastic before I could start over. Never got any suction.

There is a sealant that really works called "Thru-the Roof" that's made for sealing around roof penetrations such as vents and skylights. The stuff is really sticky and although it skins over it never hardens. Found in the roofing departments and not with the caulks often. I successfully completed this hack, but my pump seems to lack the ability to create a suction or loses its prime inside the pump. The tube stays full of Dawn and it worked initially, but a day later it won't start again. How do I go about fixing the pump?
