It's not as powerful as I thought it would be, but it works very well. kzread.infoUgkxGjG43--gYqIoT4Xkur2PqCrtbKwTv2h There are three options to circulate air, and best of all a remote control for us lazy people. Installation was a breeze (no pun intended). It actually took longer to open the box then it did putting the side extenders on and sitting it in the window opening. It's a perfect alternative when you want airflow, but not the AC. Just might order another one for a different room. UPDATE: Bought another one like I said. They work great. Why not have two...

I have a much faster way to clean your filters. Fill your sink up with very very very hot water. I boil my kettle and use the hot water from there. To that add a quarter of a cup of Borax. Let it sit there for about 15-30 minutes. After soaking for the suggested time, put on a pair of thick rubber gloves and drain the sink. Rinse your filters under warm water, they should be sparkling clean. If you like or need, you can do a second application. I guarantee this will have your filters looking like they are brand new. Best part is there’s no elbow grease involved. Give it a try, you’ll be glad you did.

IT WORKS! I covered front and back, waited 30 minutes, ran HOT water over them and they were very clean. I did see a TINY BIT of residue deep inside, so I ran HOT water in the sink, added the Palmolive and let it soak about 15 minutes! Done! They looked brand new! Thanks for sharing this method!

Great information about this product. I'm glad to have found this video. One thought, the drains might accumulate the grease and for those that have septic systems, this amount of grease might that up too, so it might be best to do it outside on the lawn or somewhere similar.

I just wanted to mention, if you take your filter, put it in your cookie sheet, then spray it with heavy duty oven cleaner, leave for 15 minutes, give it a scrub with the toothbrush, it will all come off without etching the filter. Also, you can do the same method and use Simple Green or Pine Sol, leave it in it over night and all the grease will be separated from the filter by morning. Also, just a tip, scrub the filter a bit before you rinse with water, this loosens up everything and more will come off. Simple Green all purpose cleaner and Pine Sol also work for stripping paint off plastics without ruining the plastic underneath. I use these cleaners to strip paint from plastic model kits that have been painted by a child and the result is a fresh, out of the box model kit. Cheers

This has been my go to way to clean my exhaust fan filters and it's so satisfying when all the burnt grease just comes off so easily. I was an apartment repair man. Sometimes it is impossible to find a replacement range hood filter that fits if the range hood is very old. Custom ones can be made to fit but that's expensive. Just put the filter in a broiler pan outside and flood it with ammonia. A few hours later rinse it out and it will look almost new.

Just tried it. Works fantastically well. I saturated just one side and let it soak for a couple hours while I ran some errands. You could see the difference even before rinsing. I laid it in the sink and blasted it good with hot water from the sink sprayer. It got almost every single bit. Looks about 99% new. And no suds or soap mess to deal with at all. Thank you very much.

Now, those of you folks that have a G.E. SpaceSaver Under-the-Counter Microwave oven - above that filter is a plastic grille. From the outside, the grille sits just above the door. It has two clips that press-fit into slots. There are only 2 screws holding it. Screw those out and the grille should pop right out with little coaxing. Cleaning this grille in situ is a bear. You must to remove it and set it in a basin where you can scrub it. Justin's method also works for that. I added a another step - CAREFUL - I use boiling water for each rinse after I worked the grilles over 3x with a stiff-bristle plastic hand brush and dish soap, like he did. I never had success before, but this came out nice. I considered setting them out overnight in an ammonia bag, but I didn't know how ammonia would affect the plastic grille, so I opted for this method because dish soap is safe.

I have great success with ZEP commercial, all purpose cleaner & degreaser. I use it on many other places that has grease on it. This can be purchased at most any place that sells cleaners like Home Depot. I just spray it on, leave it for a few minutes and I rinse it off with hot water using the kitchen sprayer. I seldom have to use it a second time.
