It's not as powerful as I thought it would be, but it works very well. kzread.infoUgkxGjG43--gYqIoT4Xkur2PqCrtbKwTv2h There are three options to circulate air, and best of all a remote control for us lazy people. Installation was a breeze (no pun intended). It actually took longer to open the box then it did putting the side extenders on and sitting it in the window opening. It's a perfect alternative when you want airflow, but not the AC. Just might order another one for a different room. UPDATE: Bought another one like I said. They work great. Why not have two...
I have a much faster way to clean your filters. Fill your sink up with very very very hot water. I boil my kettle and use the hot water from there. To that add a quarter of a cup of Borax. Let it sit there for about 15-30 minutes. After soaking for the suggested time, put on a pair of thick rubber gloves and drain the sink. Rinse your filters under warm water, they should be sparkling clean. If you like or need, you can do a second application. I guarantee this will have your filters looking like they are brand new. Best part is there’s no elbow grease involved. Give it a try, you’ll be glad you did.
WOW!!! I'm going to try this. Thank you for owning you've never cleaned that for a decade. I thought I was the only one. I hate when a video says here's how to clean years kitchen grease. N their stuff was hardly dirtly. Thanks again for telling your truth!!👍👍
IT WORKS! I covered front and back, waited 30 minutes, ran HOT water over them and they were very clean. I did see a TINY BIT of residue deep inside, so I ran HOT water in the sink, added the Palmolive and let it soak about 15 minutes! Done! They looked brand new! Thanks for sharing this method!
Thank you I’ve tried cleaning it before and it’s hard to get clean > but I’m gonna try this ASAP . Great presentation
It worked! Thank you. Now I have a clean replacement filter whenever the new one gets dirty again. Simple dishwashing detergent really breaks down the grease.
I was glad to find these directions as we had never cleaned our 9 year-old range hood filters..I used a pan and dishwasher detergent and it took more than 1 application//rinsing, etc., but I now have clean filters. What a difference! Thank you Justin.
I used that Palmolive on my cast iron grate and it removed the caked on grease! You are my hero!!!

Are we talking about Palmolive dishwashing liquid for the dishwasher machine ? or Palmolive for washing the dishes in the sink ?
THANKZ FOR TAKING YOUR TIME SHOWING HOW TO CLEAN STOVE FILTERS. SO HARD TO FIND THE RIGHT SIZE STOVE FILTERS. THIS CAN SAVE YOU ALOT OF MONEY TOO.
Bro!!! Why did I not ever do this before??? I have cleaned those with all sorts of things for days on end and never got the results I got in 10 minutes with this method!! You are a god.
Wow... Thank you for the tip, I need to clean my exhaust filter now. Didn’t know how too, I almost bought a new one but couldn’t find the right size.
*Works amazingly **Fastly.Cool** . I love all the features and the double expansion. For once a fan is almost as tall as my window. Updated but not overly fancy.*
Straightforward presentation without gimmickry. Just what the doctor ordered. You are a great presenter with a nice chilled approach. 35 thumbs up to 1 thumb down is one of the best thumb tallies out there. Thanks for a great video Justin. Try another one sometime.

Thank You for sharing the information to clean the filters. My exhaust fan manufacturer is no longer in business and can't buy filters no where because of the odd size and I had to have them made and it was very expensive. So I definitely will be trying your helpful information.
Great information about this product. I'm glad to have found this video. One thought, the drains might accumulate the grease and for those that have septic systems, this amount of grease might that up too, so it might be best to do it outside on the lawn or somewhere similar.
Awesome video , wish I would have seen this week ago before I cleaned mine . Totally going to do this next time around !
I put mine in the dishwasher about once every 6 months. Works great, the machine does the work for me.
I done the same method outside in the garden used boot tray to soak it in dishwasher detergent. It worked perfectly well with out worry of clogging drains
We just cleaned the filters in our range hood following Justin McCurry's directions and the filters look brand new!

I did mine too. It actually worked. 😊👍
A great no nonsense video.... no annoying music or shouting
I just wanted to mention, if you take your filter, put it in your cookie sheet, then spray it with heavy duty oven cleaner, leave for 15 minutes, give it a scrub with the toothbrush, it will all come off without etching the filter. Also, you can do the same method and use Simple Green or Pine Sol, leave it in it over night and all the grease will be separated from the filter by morning. Also, just a tip, scrub the filter a bit before you rinse with water, this loosens up everything and more will come off. Simple Green all purpose cleaner and Pine Sol also work for stripping paint off plastics without ruining the plastic underneath. I use these cleaners to strip paint from plastic model kits that have been painted by a child and the result is a fresh, out of the box model kit. Cheers
I just bought a house and noticed drips on the stove top. The screen filters were (are) pretty bad. This is one of the better videos I found on KZread. You just saved me $25 for replacements. Thank you.

Ufff ..was thinking in using paint thinner ... I am encouraged to do mine now like you demo here. Thank you Justin.
I threw mines in the trash the odor would not leave! Now I know I can use this video to keep my new one clean. Awesome video!
Awesome. It works perfectly. Thank you Justin for sharing.
Thank you so much for sharing this! This work unbelievably well! This has been my go to way to clean my exhaust fan filters and it's so satisfying when all the burnt grease just comes off so easily. The same method works well for other things as well, like oven racks and such. I have been using your method for years, but today while being amazed how easily dirt comes off my oven racks, I remembered I should thank you. So thank you, thank you, thank you!
Very good, neat and nice educative presentation. I appreciate it.
The simplest method I found on my fed . Thanks .
Thank you for your video. You are concise and well spoken. This method worked out great on our exhaust fan filter. We had the powder dishwasher cleanser, so we made a paste out of it & that worked out well too. It only took two tries.
Fantastic presentation. I really like this method and cheap to do it. Can you also make one more presentation on gow to clean oven trays and oven. Many tanks and Gos bless.
That's amazing. Thank you for sharing.
I appreciate this video for sure. Dawn dishwashing detergent would have decreased the grease dissolved time in my opinion. T'he blue hue is the best too. Love the stuff.
I was an apartment repair man. Sometimes it is impossible to find a replacement range hood filter that fits if the range hood is very old. Custom ones can be made to fit but that's expensive. Just put the filter in a broiler pan outside and flood it with ammonia. A few hours later rinse it out and it will look almost new.

Except that the smell of the ammonia makes you nauseous ! Working with pure ammonia is very difficult due to the nauseous smell.

I do the same and have been doing for 10 years. No problems( metal filter of course).
Thank you very much hope your valuable information we have tried all different types of detergent and none of them work I will give this brand of detergent a try.
Just tried it. Works fantastically well. I saturated just one side and let it soak for a couple hours while I ran some errands. You could see the difference even before rinsing. I laid it in the sink and blasted it good with hot water from the sink sprayer. It got almost every single bit. Looks about 99% new. And no suds or soap mess to deal with at all. Thank you very much.
Lye and warm water worked like a charm for me. No scrubbing required. And it only needed a 2-minute soak... even for a filter that hadn’t been cleaned in 12 years.
Spray both sides with 409 or any heavy duty de-greaser let it sit for half hour. Drop in a pot of boiling water the grease will slide off.
I finally got around to trying your cleaning hack today and I can say I am 💯 happy. Mine looks brand new. It was so easy for me , I didn’t scrub, wet applied set and rinsed. Thanks
I definitely needed to watch this. Thank you so much. 🌹
BRILLIANT tip. Thank you very much
I bet your exhaust fan is happier and quite a bit more quiet!!!! I like filling up the home depot orange buckets with hot water ammonia dawn dish detergent. Then let the filters sit in the solution for a couple of hours. I'm in no hurry. Nice job.
This was the easiest and quickest of all...thank you
Wow cool! Crazy story. I have dishwashing soap, but no dish washer (except me). I kept this DW soap in garage for years. Thought of getting rid of the DW soap (again 2 days ago), but didn't. Glad I came across this video because I need to clean stuff like this. Goes to show, Everything happens for a reason, signs, timing, etc, no coincidences. Plus am frugal...Thanks for sharing Info!

Ha ha - sorry I've validated your hoarding habit, but glad you got use out of it! :)
I’m impressed, great job. Plus it was easy.
Wow...thanks...that was a brilliant method. Easy and safe.
Now, those of you folks that have a G.E. SpaceSaver Under-the-Counter Microwave oven - above that filter is a plastic grille. From the outside, the grille sits just above the door. It has two clips that press-fit into slots. There are only 2 screws holding it. Screw those out and the grille should pop right out with little coaxing. Cleaning this grille in situ is a bear. You must to remove it and set it in a basin where you can scrub it. Justin's method also works for that. I added a another step - CAREFUL - I use boiling water for each rinse after I worked the grilles over 3x with a stiff-bristle plastic hand brush and dish soap, like he did. I never had success before, but this came out nice. I considered setting them out overnight in an ammonia bag, but I didn't know how ammonia would affect the plastic grille, so I opted for this method because dish soap is safe.
Put the filter in the dishwasher and run it at the strongest cycle. Comes out super clean.
Great instructions! Worked wonders on my filter...thanks much.

Doesn’t grease clog up the drain after while?
This really worked! Thank you!
Love it. Thank you so much for the tips!!!
BRILLIANT thanks for showing.
I just put the filter in the lower rack of the dishwasher and start it with the Pots & Pans cycle with regular dishwasher tablet. Works great and easy !
You sir.... are a Genius.
Those filters are exactly the same as some in some military equipment and we just put them in a dishwasher on a hot cycle and they cleaned up perfectly every time.
wow - can't wait until I give it a try. The greases are so thick we can't even see other side. Thanks mate
Your tip worked great! Thank you
Jyotsna BaBa, I did my Kitchengas fan and that work. Thank you very much.
Laundry detergent works well especially if you add in some stain remover powder and leave to soak. I usually leave it overnight and the next day everything rinses off. No muscles necessary. Works on pans and oven dishes etc too.
I have great success with ZEP commercial, all purpose cleaner & degreaser. I use it on many other places that has grease on it. This can be purchased at most any place that sells cleaners like Home Depot. I just spray it on, leave it for a few minutes and I rinse it off with hot water using the kitchen sprayer. I seldom have to use it a second time.
I was so frustrated, as you said, I tried oven cleaner, liquid soap, boiling water, nothing worked, you nailed it, thank God I saw your video, and of course thank you.
You video is one of the best to watch and it's worth it better thn other clons
Oh , Thanks for this video , Now I know what detergent to used. A big thanks

You could have just soaked in a pot of water and dishwasher soup be let it simmer over a low heat for 25 minutes and skip the scrubbing.
Thanks a lot mister McCurry!
I have 2filters in my range hood that I want to clean so thank you for the tip of using the Palmolive dish soap cause I've been buying expensive cleaner so this is definitely worth trying.

I have my own cleaning business And I clean these things all the time they’re very easy to clean. All you need is very hot water and 2 tablespoons of Oxsee clean you soak it for about a minute or 2 agitated a little bit in the sink and it comes out just as clean as the video. Clean smart not hard.

OMG!!!!! And that’s a praise and blessing to you! It worked just like you said! I had soooo much grease buildup on them-stuck down in oxy solution and it immediately dissolved! NO scrubbing at all- just rinse and wiped a little residue on rim-they look like brand new and took less than 2 minutes! SO glad I looked at the comments!
