I used this method when I first saw it in another video of yours and it worked PERFECTLY. I hadn’t cleaned my oven in yearssss due to mental health. This last year I’ve been getting things cleaned out and organized and I was dreading the oven so much. Your method made it easy and not so overwhelming. You are a ray of light to so many of us. Thank you for being you and helping so many!!

I hadn't cleaned my oven properly since I've lived where I do (four years) until a few months ago, because it's a wall oven and against a wall and it was impossible to reach in to clean. I learned fairly recently that oven doors can COME OFF and be put back on fairly easily -- so yeah, now my oven looks great, LOL.

I have a VERY old apartment oven and used this method after seeing Aurikatarina do it in an early video. Why on earth doesn’t anyone ever talk about oven cleaner!!!! It works SO WELL! My pull out racks had SO much old baked on grease from previous renters, so I put each one in a trash bag and sprayed them on the inside of the bag with oven cleaner. I did this after dinner on a Friday and literally wiped and rinsed everything Saturday morning! I will literally never go back to scrubbing, baking soda OR hand cramps from scrubbing again!! My world and oven have been forever changed! ❤️

I’ve been struggling with chronic illness pain muscle atrophy and severe chronic fatigue for years and it’s left me unable to to do even the slightest tasks without being extremely exhausted. But, your videos motivate me to get off the couch and get moving and not sit all day! Depression that goes with chronic illness also makes it hard too and I sometimes I end up sitting 24/7. Anyway, I’ve been doing a little cleaning and re-organizing tasks each day to deep clean my home and it got my daily steps up and helps me feel like I’m moving more. I know it’s not much for a normal person but for me it’s a help to not feel so bad about myself. So thanks Auri! 💗💗💗

Thank you so much for sharing your techniques! I, like you, LOVE TO CLEAN! I once had my own cleaning business but had to leave it because I became disabled with rheumatoid arthritis. I am still able to clean my home, but always looking for ways to make it easier on my joints. When I watch your videos I find them so satisfying. Makes me want to clean and make everything fresh. One day I will need help to clean my home. Until then I will do my best. Thank you, again. I appreciate you so much for helping others.

I'd love a tub and shower video with various types of stains! Maybe even changing the caulk? I had to find a new apartment in an emergency bc I lost my home in a flood 4 weeks before I was due to have my baby and 2 weeks before she actually came! Her daddy was able to get the keys to this apartment the same day she was born ❤ bc we were frantically viewing places I didn't notice all the odd shower stains and baby is starting to outgrow the plastic tub I've been using in the living room. A tutorial for all kinds of shower stains would be amazing! I want to feel comfortable giving baby a bath in there. Just from a surface clean it actually seems like the previous tenants used to smoke in there, it's in desperate need of a deep clean.

Just try your best cleaning around the element. You can use a cloth dipped in water and wrung out to clean the element. If you are still concerned about chemicals I’d suggest a dry run (no food) after oven cleaning- should burn off most chemical residue.

By the way, you can unattach the oven door as well (in most cases with modern ovens) and also the inner glass layer, too =) This makes cleaning more convenient and also you are able to clean the frame and all the spots you can't reach with the door on its place ;)

@Louia There should be latches on the hinges of your oven door. Open the oven partway, flip the latched toward you, and open it all the way. You'll hear a pop as the door hinges unlock. Then you put the door in the half-open position again, grip the sides, and pull. It should come right out. Then reverse the process when putting it back on (there are YT vids that will show the process visually). You can take the door apart with a screwdriver and remove the interior glass to clean it, though I've never felt the need to do that.

Another pro tip: put a mixture of vinegar and water in a pan and turn on the oven, make the mixture come to a boil inside the oven for like 15 minutes and then leave the door shut for atleast an hour. I honestly haven’t tried this method with my oven yet, but works beautifully with my microwave I always let get out of control bc I have small boys that don’t cover their food if they use it.

I DONT have the ecolab spray but I do have easy off and some cling film. I have been spraying it since I got it June 4, 2022... and it is still as black inside as ever.. tomorrow I will empty the can and use cling wrap. My friend told me to get a putty knife and I see you used a scraper so we won’t worry about scratching. CANT wait to give an update. Thanks for this toot!

A tip for the racks and also the cover for the lamps is to put them in the sink, cover them with hot or boiling water and then add some dishwasher powder or a tablet, then just let it sit for at least an hour, even when ours were really dirty the dirt went away. For better access remove the oven door, in most models its actually really easy. Also when buying an owen never get one with catalytic cleaning (not the same as pyrolitic) it doesn't work at all! Just a tiny bit will fall of as advertised but the sides will get dirty, smell bad and be harder to clean because you can't use a scraper or even a scrubber on the rough sides, I tried following the directions from the manufacturer for a long while but it still was clearly dirty and after a few years smelled awfull, then I started to use oven cleaner just like Auri then I spray it of with water but there are a few really stubborn spots left every time.

I love watching your vids, so relaxing and calming. But I have a question, what is the oven cleaner you use, please? Because the only ones I can find here in Australia, are aerosol cans, and they can be rather nasty, via smell/fumes. 😷A spray bottle version would be so much easier, and hopefully less fumes. Hence why alot of people don't like cleaning ovens. Thank you!

I don’t care if it’s aerosol or not, but every brand I’ve found is covered in warning labels: may cause severe burns, use only in a well-ventilated area or with a respirator, and my favorite, “Monoethanolamine […] can cause confusion, nosebleeds, and cancer in humans.” Woo, party!
