SPOILER ALERT: This is one of my favourite episodes. I've watched a LOT of GameNight! episodes and this one really shows the personalities of the players more than usual. The dynamic between Dave and Aaron is always so fun to watch - you both love to be the alpha. :D Nikki was particularly fun in this episode and I liked the way Lincoln quietly rolled his way to victory...! Fun!!
I have - and love - King Of Tokyo and have to say that this looks like its just as awesome fun 😄 Ty ty for the playthrough - I will be ordering this one for my collection 😊 Also - I love the artwork in both games 😇 Super fun and funny episode 🤣
I can't stop watching these game nights.
I played this for the first time at Kubla Con this weekend in San Fransisco. It was down to a gentleman and myself. I had taken out every other player and had three health left, then he rolled three claws. It was awesome!
Fantastic job explaining the game, Aaron! Twenty minutes, and I know this game! Thanks!
The best tutorial / explanation of a game I have ever seen.
This is more advanced than king of Tokyo but it really depends on who your crowd is. It's easier to pull out Kong of Tokyo and play with non-gamers and teens but yeah this version is amazing! I might get it because it's hard to get the power ups expansion for King of Tokyo.
Thank you so much Aaron.. good job for explaining the game.
I loved this video and game! Been playing King Of Tokyo a long time now, but getting this today. After seeing this video and learning the new stuff, I must say this is far more superior than King Of Tokyo. Great play! And of course; you guys got a new subscriber. ^^

Sooooo, both are superior; just this one is MORE superior. I like it. :P haha
Very helpful indeed! Thanks so much guys and gals! :)
Great game mechanics description.
I'm really surprised how fun this game seems. Another winner from the franchise for me.
28:55 THAT JOKER LAUGH THOUGH!
I hope they come out with Power's for these Characters; seeing the Captain with a 'Titanic' swing would be awesome!
Great Video! Thumbs up!
Love... Your... Christopher Walken.. Impression...

Good explanation of rules. GG
So game night has gone full circle. It all started with King of Tokyo and now you're in New York.

Really? KoT was their first episode?
Dave is such a great guy! and also reminds me kinda of Danny DeVito
Oh my God just pass the dice tray around to each player when it's their turn! You guys drive me crazy reaching across the board to get to it. Oh, great video. I'm leaving work in one hour to go FINALLY pick up my copy (plus another 45 minutes sitting in traffic).

Apparently you missed the point that they had a birds eye stationary camera to show dice rolls and passing it around would require the camera to need to be changed every time it was someone else's turn. Obviously if they weren't filming it, they would have just passed it around.

Hey, missing the point is the thing I'm bestest at! Thanks for "point"-ing that out. I guess since I do video production for a living I might have thought of that myself.
When we play either game we always play with all the monsters because there's nothing that makes em any different. When we play Tokyo we don't use any of the cards from power up so there's no problems. Both games are awesome.
Seems like a great upgrade, but any number of you could have won this earlier with some cutthroat strategy. still thanks for the info.
1:02:25 Nikki didn't take her two victory points and two energy for moving up a level in Manhattan, not that it would've mattered since Lincoln took the game the next turn. She was three victory points away from winning.
Lincoln could have won when he rolled the 3 hearts as he changes 2 to claws to kill Nikki and uses the 2 destruction to get 2 victory points and 1 point from the star and 1 point from being force to move to manhattan
I would love to see someone sleeve up this deck and take out all the "eat a military unit/building" & number cards from KoT and sleeve them and shuffle it together... Also because King VS Kong
You guys going for KoNY: Power Up, when it comes out?
Aaron, as good as your Christopher Walken is, I can't help but think you should be doing Stuart impressions. Total doppelganger for MAD TV Stuart. "Noooooooooo, I WANNA do it!!!
Are there no evolution cards in this version(for rolling 3 hearts)? Are they just saving that for the first expansion?
Love king of tokyo, will get this soon, would like each monster to have some kind of inbuilt abilities.

I like that all the monsters are mechanically identical; there's no fighting or decision time wasted over pick who gets what.

Looks like a fun group of hippies
My friends hardly buy cards. We are so focus on attacking each other lol
Hoping you can help clarify something. I had 1 health and my friend had 5 health. I rolled 5 attacks and one ouch. Needless to say there was a military unit in my borough. At that point who wins?? I didn't end my turn with any health, so it would be my friend?

Use the dice in any order you want. Use the 5 attacks first and you win, right?
can u do Takenoko😢😢
Holly crap Aaron's shirt NCR for life!!!!
Shoutout to MTG yallll
Sherman & DeSoto?
Hi there, I'm still not clear about rules regarding Manhattan. Since it is a borough, why only one monster get into it? One more question, will you make a video on 6 people playing KoNY? =)

+Aizat Hisham There's space for another monster in Manhattan if the game is 5-6 players, but there's only 1 spot for 2-4 players.
What dice tray are you using?

great video. However, I reacted when Aaron couldn't remember what other games Richard Garfield had done. It should be obligatory, when working with games, to know that he created Magic the Gathering. I mean, it's the worlds most popular card game.

He was clearly sarcastic indeed...
SPOILER: Come on, Dave, stop being a jerk unfairly to Aaron! Lincoln didn't win because of Aaron's lack of stars, he won because you were happy to attack at some times, but unfairly refused to attack Lincoln when it was clearly the best play.

Trust me, it's not.
dave played so badly. he kept going for energy but had no plan for how to use it, and then he committed suicide because he was so married to the king of queens concept. i wouldn't mind so much except he kept criticising aaron's play, which was much better than his. imo he came across as a bit of a bully.
