    I believe you can choose a new Adventurer every new round. The same Adventurer doesn't have to be used for the whole game. The player who just went into the Dungeon chooses the next Adventurer ... or if I am wrong, please let me know!

    Signs of a good game; - want to play again immediately after finishing it - causes rousing discussion afterwards about decisions made, funny moments, etc - short - easily explained - though short and easily explained, still has a lot of strategy - interactive - smiles all around I will say that removing players from a game is a bad choice (right up there with games where you lose turns) but because the game is so short, it allows for a bathroom break at least and then you’re back in! 😜

    You know how sometimes you encounter a game design that just speaks to you and makes you really jealous that you didn't think of it first? This is one of those games for me. Just so clever and simple.

    This game looks like something that could be directly imported into a house rules pathfinder game with the different characters and their items/abilities. Though that would be a test for another day. Awesome video as always, keep up the good work!

    I've never played this game before but after watching this video I believe it'll be more fun if each player plays a different character. Every-time a player decides to take a monster out of the dungeon it also discards one equipment from each of the other players.

    What’s an example as to why you’d want to not put a monster in the dungeon and how to decide what item to take out? I don’t understand how you know when to do that.

    31:02 If you are supposed to turn over all cards at the same time (he said this earlier), this rule doesn't make any sense! If you're supposed to turn over all cards at the same time, there shouldn't be any concept of dying after a specific card, because the monsters should really come all at once...

  • @DevilboyScooby

    Reading the effects, I don't think using Polymorph allows omnipotence to work- you're defeating a monster, not removing it from the dungeon- just like you defeat the others. So Lincoln shouldn't have won that round. I could be wrong, though, I don't have the rulebook to argue.

    The warrior is suuper easy. The torch and grail cover 1-4, 6. The spear takes out 9. Vorpal sword 7. Then take the 10damage from the two 5's

    I checked the rules: The rules specifically state under the section titled "Dungeon Phase": ...ONE BY ONE, reveal the cards from the Dungeon pile. So you are correct.

    Its a simple game to play but man it is so difficult to explain to new players!

  • @TheIxelan
    @TheIxelan8 жыл бұрын

    Flipping the cards one at a time defeats the point of certain cards/abilities, imo. The way polymorph works in the rules, for example, you flip over all the cards and then choose what to polymorph. If you make the decision immediately, you can end up killing yourself (polymorphing into a pair, for example, when you would have otherwise won).

  • @swhellweg

    @swhellweg

    I guess that's one of the reasons why it's called a "Push you luck" game. The rules specifically state under the section titled "Dungeon Phase": ...ONE BY ONE, reveal the cards from the Dungeon pile. I see your point though.

  • @TheIxelan

    @TheIxelan

    7 жыл бұрын

    I'm not sure you're grasping my point. Do the rules state that as you flip them over, you lose even before seeing the final cards? And whether Polymorph works as designed has no bearing on the fact that this is a "push your luck" game.

  • @swhellweg

    @swhellweg

    7 жыл бұрын

    I'm just quoting the rules as printed. The rule simply states: flip them one by one, not "flip them all" as you suggest. The Polymorph card says Defeat one Monster you draw, replacing it with the NEXT Monster from the deck (once per Dungeon), so I assume it means next monster flipped... regardless of what it is or how it screws you. That's how we've played it anyway. But yes, you got me on my "push your luck" statement. Once you've reached this point of the game you're past the push your luck stage.

  • @swhellweg

    @swhellweg

    7 жыл бұрын

    I just read the rules again and I think I've stumbled onto something. The rules refer to the the monster cards in two ways: The "monster deck" (all the monster cards) and "dungeon pile" (the cards put into play in the dungeon) Since Polymorph card says "Defeat one Monster you draw, replacing it with the NEXT Monster from the DECK" so there is actually a bit of push your luck. Since you don't know what the top card of the DECK is, you have to decide if it's worth risking possibly turning a Golem into a Dragon.

    I believe the issue was: There are Goblins 1 Skeletons 2 Orcs 3. She kept saying Troll and 2.. 10:46. They assume she means Orc 3 as Trolls.. but then points at Goblin 1.
