Killing Time at a Bishop Creek Hydro Plant (Bishop, CA)
I got to Bishop the evening before a planned hike. The spot I hoped to fish around sunset was underwater so I figured I'd spend the evening here.

You make all the tough days look more enjoyable than any day at work. Plus, you bring the scenery into the living room of so many who would switch places.

Thanks. I think it would be fair to say many would like to switch places on the fishing and hiking part. The full time warehouse work on top of it to keep things going, not so much!

My grandfather used to plop his lawn chair down on that concrete platform and slay with weightless salmon eggs. Lots of good memories at that little spot.

Right on. Sounds like a great time. Back in the day I used to do some slaying myself with salmon eggs in rivers. I'd get tiny gold egg hooks that can be concealed completely by a single salmon egg. big trout will nail a single salmon egg. Glad I was able to help bring back those cherished memories for you.

Right on. It's hard to track me down during my 36 hour overnight power trips. Especially this one where I kind of made half of the trip up as I went along. I knew I was hiking and fishing to George Lake and then everything else on the trip changed! I have a clip called the "Anatomy of my Eastern Sierra Trips" on my variety playlists that pretty much sums up the insanity of the schedule I try to keep when I'm on the road.

I directly tie every lure I use because I like to have as much control over the action of the lure as possible. I demonstrate this in a few videos on my fishing tips playlist.

USE A SWIVEL FOR YOUR PANTHERS OR SPINNERS . THEN YOUR LINE WONT TWIST
@wildernesswithamani1027

I hate using swivels with lures. I can deal with a little twist. Pull some line off the top it's fine. I like to tie my lures directly to the line. I feel, especially in wild trout waters, it can make the difference between a large trout hitting or not. Hatchery fish it's probably not as important but I still like the sleeker presentation and finer control the way I like to drift spinners in current. Give me a big wild trout and I'll deal with some twist. Jigs, directly tying them to the line is essential for the way I need control of the action and like to fish them.
