Killer Thinks She’s Dead - Until Police Take This Photo | The Case of Lacey Phillips Seal

“Could you untie me please?”
It’s the early hours of June 7th, 1995. Detective Bill Lindsey is carefully taking pictures of a crime scene with two dead bodies, 34 year old Mary Phillips, and her 11 year old daughter Lacey. After having photographed the young mother in her office, he turns to the little girl on the chair, head down and covered in blood, but something unexpected happens: when his camera flashes, she opens her eyes.

disgusting for him to use his wife’s sexual assault as an excuse to commit a crime to a mother and her daughter. just because someone hurt the one you love doesn’t mean you get to hurt others who are completely innocent. may mary phillips rest in peace and i wish lacey the best. Absolutely, using someone else's suffering as an excuse for committing heinous crimes is utterly reprehensible. It's tragic that innocent individuals had to bear the brunt of his misguided retaliation. My heart goes out to Mary Phillips, Lacey, and the other victims affected by these senseless acts of violence.

He only admitted to killing 2 other women after he was dead. DNA testing proved he killed Lorraine Bennett. Apparently the letter he sent to his sister was in 2006 and was to be opened a year after his death, which is how he confessed to the murders of Lorraine and Regina Harrison. From what I read he was never up for parole, just appealing the death sentence

@@serkotsins I did a bit of research and what I found makes sense. It says that he was sentenced in two different cases. One of which he was eligible for parole. So, he would be able to be paroled on one of the charges and all that means is that he stops serving time for that charge and the death sentence charge begins. In no way was he eligible for "parole release". I don't see the point in taking up time and money for a parole hearing on a dead man walking.

Checking for vital signs and ensuring the well-being of the individuals involved should always be the first priority in any emergency situation. I’m convinced that killers pick out people with the most light emanating from them. In a crowd of people, they can choose the one who “lights up a room”. It’s not a cliche.

I remember when this happened because I lived in Searcy, Arkansas at the time, which is not too far away from Bald Knob; we're in the same county(White). Everyone was noticeably scared to get around to doing their normal daily things. 🥺

How can a man on death row be up for parole? He should be gone and he can't ever come up for parole. America has the most screwed up justice system. A death sentence plus life and still gets a chance for parole.

To everybody shocked the photographer didn't feel for a pulse. The reason he didn't is because he could contaminate evidence and the killer could make the claim that police planted evidence or even accuse the officer of being the killer. Remember, he doesn't need to prove he didn't do it. The State must prove he DID do it. All his defense needs to do is sew doubt and he goes free.

In forensic, it is crucial to not interact with everything, so evidences or clues can't be further destroyed. But obviously, they should check after pictures. Not an expert, but I think that's why.
