Now everyone’s schedules are shaped for the convenience of his prison sentence. It’s a shame his mistakes are making everyone else miserable and makes them serve his time too! The situation both the mother and father put these caregivers in his terrible and the situation for the kids is just plain tragic. This mess will affect their lives forever, probably generationally.

IMO she’s a dummy too. As someone with a sibling (preface: who I love dearly & did not* commit murder), I have never nor will I advocate or enable his stupidity eg. committing crime(s). For context: one of his (my siblings) significant other, at the time, sought my advice as to whether she should allow her children (sidebar - kids that were thankfully** conceived external to the correctional system) to visit their father. I told her “heck no” and that I [personally] would not. She did so anyway out of her own volition; fast forward to present day, she cries and scream bloody mary that a STOOOPID decision she made is now the reason for the children’s relative naughtiness and attributes the reason as such. If you ask me, it’s because she’s a dummy and dummies do as a dummy does. Hence my POV regarding your comment. If someone wants to be a dummy fine but why advocate the lunacy and impose that upon innocent** children. Disgusting. Gets to a point people need to set aside their “feelings” and use common sense. I LOVE my brother but I will never step inside a prison/jail to be patted down etc. for anyone, yet she allowed this for kids?! What an imposition and a dingbat. Kids don’t miss what they don’t have. The real question is who is the boffun that allowed herself get pregnant by a murderer? 🙄

@@marqueonmauldin9095 well I can. I appreciate your stance and equally that my stance will not always be align with that of others. However, as someone who also exists within the same ‘relational capacity’ as the plaintiff - given the example used - she is. Not that I do not empathise with the emotional aspect but again, in these situations, you have to be predictive in your assessment, esp. given the sensitivity. Yes, her sibling is her family member however, by extension so are the kids. The perpetrator (her brother) has already (evidently) made a plethora of bad choices - including choosing to have those children in a dynamic which is unreasonable. Wouldn’t a more loving approach be to take those resources and efforts and utilise them in shielding/helping those children to flourish further* in their environment whilst advocating their father’s name/presence in a less harmful way? I agree it is complicated with children - children who didn’t ask to be here but were divinely made, not only are they organically burdened by the circumstances by which they exist but it’s selfish and “dumb” imo (and regards if it opposes yours) to puppet children around the justice system for your own esteem and expect the consequences to be anything less than adverse. I emphasise with the sisters heart because truly, the stance I take isn’t lighthearted by any means but as far as her brain - she is an overwhelmed dummy [to me] - and it shows.

They have to stop this practice of kids having night visits. Also if daytime visits are traumatic for young children than these visits need to stop as well. If you weren’t a fit parent whilst on the outside then why should children be weighed down with the burden of having a deadbeat dad in prison and be made to enter these depressive institutions to visit him, why should children have to pay that price. Also I find it absolutely outrageous that prisoners are allowed the privilege to spend private time with girlfriends or partners for hours on end where he can get her pregnant over and over again.

A child toucher called me over to him, the detail I got was he was in a SMALL CLOSET KNEELED DOWN CALLING ME. I started to go to him and my aunt noticed and grabbed me up. It's just to dangerous and you never know. I'm glad nothing happened to me and I'm glad I don't remember it other than being told about it.

For those who are interested in the 'exceptional sentence' the plaintiff refers to, printed here verbatim from the court records of State vs Matt Wright, August 25, 1997... In Conclusion "32. The standard range sentence for this crime is 281 to 374 months, but the trial court imposed an exceptional sentence of 494 months." The reason the court imposed this exceptional sentence, again verbatim from the court records, "The trial court imposed an exceptional sentence based upon aggravating factors of multiple injuries indicating deliberate cruelty, victim vulnerability, and motive to frustrate prosecution on other charges." The cause of death was described in these same court records as follows, "Here, the autopsy supported the finding of multiple injuries. The autopsy revealed that (1) the cause of death was the blow to the head with a concrete block, causing severe brain injury, (2) Letnes was strangled manually and with another device, (3) Letnes was stabbed in the neck to the depth of her breathing tube, and (4) Letnes had defensive wounds, including scratches and abrasions across her hands, fingers, right arm, right shoulder, bruises on her right arm, shoulder and knee, and lacerations around her lips, indicating that she engaged in a struggle before her death." At the Court of Appeals, this exceptional sentence for Matthew Wright was "Affirmed". Rest In Peace Audra Letnes, you were only 15 years old when your life was so cruelly stolen from you.

For anyone curious his name is Matthew Wright and this is the case they're talking about "The victim's body was found in Innis Arden Park, a few blocks from her home, the morning of May 12. She had been strangled and stabbed, but an autopsy determined she died from head injuries apparently inflicted with a chunk of concrete. The young girl was said to be obsessed with Wright, even though Wright once held a loaded gun to her head, had hogtied her and had made her steal for him, according to prosecutors. Letnes' diary indicated she often called and wrote Wright, but Wright denied any serious relationship, referring to her as "an associate." Even after Letnes obtained a no-contact order against Wright, she continued to call him, Wright testified. Prosecutors maintain Wright killed the girl because she was using a pending rape investigation involving Wright to manipulate him into seeing her more. Miyake said he would ask for as much prison time as possible "for this brutal, senseless murder." The standard range is 25 to 30 years, he said. No date has been set for sentencing. Wright is awaiting sentencing on a rape conviction in a separate case. He also has juvenile convictions for burglary and robbery." Can't believe people are willing to procreate with wastes of oxygen like this.

Our law system is total messed up, if one you are letting inmates get married, and have kids in prison. Then turn around and let the inmate have over night visits with kids in prison. I mean it really doesn't seem like much of punishments anymore, especially for someone who killed a 16 year old. This is why if someone kills my kid, they better run to the police for protection. Because I will make sure they don't ever kill anyone else or have the opportunity to just sit behind bars.

But the goal of our penitentiary system should be correction and rehabilitation. If someone is a 'lost cause' which I believe no one 100% is, then they should be either imprisoned for life for being too dangerous to be reintegrated into society or given the death penalty, which I also don't support. But he seems to love his children enough to pay $5000 to have someone bring them to visit every week and the corrections system trusts him enough to allow him overnight visits with his children. Based on that I assume that he has done the work and has been on the path of self reflection, accountability and taking responsibility for his actions. But that's just my opinion.
