Kiddimoto on BBC Dragons' Den 2011

Ойын-сауық

Kiddimoto Managing Director Simon Booth emerged from the BBC's Dragons' Den in September 2011 with the backing of two dragons. The balance bike entrepreneur secured the £75k investment he was looking for in a joint offer from from new dragon Hilary Devey and long-timer Duncan Bannatyne.
Enlisting the help of his 3 year old daughter Ruby, who demonstrated one of Kiddimoto's pedal free wooden bikes in the Den, a joint deal for 15% equity each was struck. "You could say I felt like 100 smiles per hour afterwards" said Simon.

Because they're all talking points, socially acceptable ways of saying what you really want to say in a negotiation. You can't just say "No", you've got to say "No, because". You can't just say "Give me more", you've got to say "Give me more, because". Everything after "because" is smoke and mirrors.

I had the same thought that it is good idea that the 2 - 6 years old boy and girl can train their body balance trough this Pedal-less bike. The selling strategy is good also because Mr. Simmon collaborate with John Lewis Department Store that had became the british famous dept. store. I deplore that 3 dragons reject to invest the 75k gbp but he's done a good job for convincing the rest.

Are those debts long term or short term. Debt is not a bad thing. It all matters on return and efficiency. With stable growth such as theirs I feel they can successfully trade on equity with long term debt. Moreover, if their cash flows are good debt seems a much better option than probably raising more equity investment.

Seriously how does a bike without pedals teach a kid to balance a bike with pedals?

Because it teaches them the feel, sweet spot and limits of the weight shift/giroscopic differential. This muscle memory is key and is something that, in my experience, stabilizers just don't foster half so well. I work with 3 year old kids and these bikes are superb for teaching bike confidence, handling and balance. And the kids love them.

it is so frustrating to see entrepreneurs not being able to answer basic questions about the financials. First of all, if you are working on something all day for the past couple of years, you should really know it inside out, all aspects. Second, if you watched even one of these shows, you know they are going to pose those questions. So silly to come unprepared.

Of course they are, but it’s very confusing in a situation like this. My grandson had curly hair right down his back, and my son did before him. I was just confused till they said it was a little girl, I didn’t say anything about jeans and jumpers......what I wear all the time and my granddaughter but we don’t tend to wear ties, that’s what I said confused me, you don’t often see a wee girl wearing a tie. It was just an observation on my part, and to be honest I think it’s not me that’s pathetic, I read what people write, you jumped to conclusion that I meant everything she is wearing. One. I said about the tie, and two. she wasn’t wearing a jumper but a shirt and tie!!!
