That’s what bothers me the most. Like, you’re already crossing a line by sending a bunch of children into the middle of the desert, at least take the opportunity to make it an interesting show and see what kind of society they actually create. With this show, not only are they stranding children in the desert, there’s not even an actual kid nation to somewhat justify it.

Yeah, the town's economy would have suffered from a crippling liquidity crisis. They had no precious metals to mint or use to back a currency and no real way of injecting money into the system or of creating more money, so how would have an economy worked anyway? At best they would have had imaginary Kidbucks given to them by the producers but a huge issue there would be static amount of money where the amount of money in the system would never change. This all would've necessitated feudal like economy where only way to trade would be to barter one good for another or to exchange hours of labor for goods or different labor. e.g "I'll work 5 hours in your farm you give me x amount of that good".

We ain't trading with aliens, so do you think that if governments stopped printing money the world economy would literally collapse? Money is like blood; it's not meant to come in from outside or leave inside, it's just meant to flow around and make shit work, only replenishing whatever is lost or destroyed; having not enough is going to be worse than having too much, but either will fuck you over; and politicians have an unending hunger to suck more and more of it from their people like livestock. (notable difference is that they suck money through inflation and taxes unlike blood which they suck from the jugular.)

Jimmy was one of the smartest kids there. He knew that the whole thing wasn't good for him, and that he was way too young for that. The council were the worst of all of them.

Once a spider bite me. One day I hit the wound with a shelf or something, then it started to bleed a lot and pus started to come out. Then my mom literally rub and wash my bleeding wound with force (you see people washing their cars with their hands and cloth pieces. Then there's this spot that you need to wash so you apply more strength but it's not going off so you use more strength and it's all a never ending cycle until you barely managed to wash a tiny percentage of that spot but your tired and then give up) Imagine that but with my 11 year old arm. Then we go to the hospital and they do the exact same thing. After that, they told me to be careful with it and to not get it wet. There was also like a pool party the next day before summer. Also I live in a state that's literally a desert.

Ah yes, the key to a good nation is dividing people into districts and factions. In my head I tried to figure out a more safe and ethical way to do this kind of kid game show but then I realized my idea was just “film a summer camp” 💀😭

I kind of wish that he watched the rest of the show and did more of this because this is the funniest video I’ve seen in a long time
watching jimmy cry and no one saying something actually made me depressed.
I feel like the social experiment angle breaks down immediately when an adult sets a rigid structure to adhere to like 2 days in. Now it's pretty much just a child labour reality show.

Not far off tbh. I use to work for a behavioral rehab place that threw kids into the wilderness to live for 3 months. They would have 2 huge dudes, usually former pro athletes, bouncers, etc. Go to their house at 3am and snatch them out of bed. 24 hours later they would be dropped off in the middle of no where via a 2 hour off road drive to our camp. It was a fun ass job but honestly surprised no kids died. Some got seriously hurt tho.

I was watching this during midnight when my parents think I’m asleep and legit could not stop laughing i was trying so hard to hold my laughter in. Thanks john tron for this amazing video that almost got me grounded but it was worth it.

Sister and I talked about it being one of his best, every bit is amusing and memorable, jokes landed majority of the time, and the fact Jon got an interview with Jimmy is so funny. It just ties itself up in a neat bow. JonTrons scripting has always been golden standard, but this video brought out more, be it from him and/or his film crew.
I watched the whole show with some friends in a Discord call and it was such a good experience. I've also watched this video like 5 times now
