Kicker pt250 install in a 2007 Kia Spectra5

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is how I installed a kicker pt250 sub/amp for in my 2007 Kia Spectra5.
If you use the method that I did and have a stock stereo you will probably need a soldering iron, a 10mm and 12mm socket wrench with an extension, a drill, a pair of pliers and a couple screwdrivers.

What I found out about the kicker pt250 is that if you unplug the bass knob and just use it directly with the gain at about 3/4, crossover about 80-75 hz, and bass boost at 3/4, you just have to tune your bass setting on your stereo to adjust the response level. It hits harder than having the bass knob connected to it. Both lo and hi settings also. If your using Bluetooth, you mainly adjust the volume from your phone. I recommend using an aux cord connected to your phone for better sound quality.

Good video but I wish that u would have played it. I have done my own custom installs for myself for over 30 something years and I Love to hear everyone's system and installs.

Did this come with a rca harness to run rcas to the stereo or can you only use the one shown in your video where you connect the white and gray wires to the door speakers?

I did not have to adjust any settings on the stock head unit. The settings on the sub are Hi input level if you are using speaker level input, or Lo if you have an aftermarket head unit that can use RCA cables. I have my crossover frequency at 80 Hz which seems like a good spot for me. Using the remote bass dial included you shouldn’t have to adjust the bass level in the stock head unit.

I have one hooked up to a 2000 Toyota Camry LE stock stereo unit. I’m only using the stock unit for now, as I’m planning to get a new head unit. The stock stereo is a factory cd/cassette fm/am stereo unit. I’ve done multiple settings on the amp and just can’t get the best bass response from the sub. Got the bass knob as well. I connect my phone to a Bluetooth device that plugs into the cig lighter and have been using Apple music, but can only hear and feel the bass when the head unit volume and Bluetooth device volume is at max. Then I just adjust the volume with my phone. Any recommendations on amp settings for better quality? Amp gain is turned up to max, setting is on HI for speaker level inputs, crossover is at 80Hz, and bass boost is at 3db
