    For those who say “you can’t tell through a cellphone” he’s definitely right about the sound quality with headphones on. You can hear the difference with sub on and off. Awesome video! Super straightforward instructions and tips that make a true distinction between his set up and that of others. Great for a teen who doesn’t want to be the annoying kid on the block whose neighbors end up hating or for Mom and Dad who just want a little kick for when there’s no littles in the car.

    Hey there, I’ve installed a pt250 in my truck, I didn’t connect to an rca cable I went straight to speaker wires. Whenever I turn on the truck it powers on but it won’t play when the bass comes. I switched the power to an 8 gauge wire. I also didn’t connect the power wire bc the speaker wires would pick up the signal and turn it on, any suggestions?

  • @MarkMiewords7
    @MarkMiewords74 ай бұрын

    Hey so I connected everything. But for some reason now my door speakers sound less loud. Almost like the sub is taking away power from the door speakers? Which shouldn’t happen bc the sub has its own amp. Any suggestions? Also, I connected the remote wire to the cigarette lighter fuse so that works. I also tapped into both rear speakers with the other 4 wires. Is that correct? My setting are 12V and Lo input level. Still the door speakers are not loud. I used to not be able to max out my volume on the head unit. Now after sub install, I have to max it out in order for it to be somewhat loud.

    Because this is a single 10 inch sub, you will not get that low booming bass at high volumes. Here is what I did to get punchy bass with very little distortion: 1. Turn your gain on the sub all the way down and your bass knob all the way down as well. 2. Turn you head unit volume as high as it can go without distorting. 3. Turn your subwoofer frequency all the way to the right. (Up in frequency). 4. Turn your subwoofer gain up until it starts to distort then back off until it’s clear. 5. From there you can adjust your bass knob for addition bass. NOTE: If there is distortion, you will need to adjust your equalizer in your head unit. Back of the 20/30 HZ frequency. So…now you can play you music at a reasonable level and adjust the bass using your bass knob… Back off on the bass knob if it starts to bog. You will need to do this a few times until you dial it in…. Remember with this subwoofer, your bass will come from the mid frequencies…let me know how it goes and thanks for checking out the channel! If you follow the order of the 10 pin connector from Left to Right (Top Row Pin 1 would be top left and below pin 1 would be Pin 6). With that said, your Positive leads are Pin 5 and 10 (these to leads need to be joined together and connected to the positive lead to your battery. Pin 4 is your remote wire and Pin 9 is suppose to be empty. Pin 3 and 8 are your negative leads that also need to be connected together and grounded to bare metal. I hope this helps! I got mine installed yesterday with someone that knows what to do but it sounds bad. I got the controller installed and everything and it starts sounding nice, but as soon as i play with the remote it stops sounding as good. I don't know if it's not getting enough power or if it's not properly equalized. But the bass sounds either super strong or doesn't sound at all. I have no idea what to do and it sucks cause I've heard good things about those bass.

  • @hawaiianbrokechanic

    @hawaiianbrokechanic

    Жыл бұрын

    There are a couple of reason why your experiencing those issues. First-the most common is that your head unit has a built in amp that pumps out wattage above 20 watts or above per channel. The built in amp on the subwoofer cannot process too much watts going in, therefore causing the speaker cutting out or resulting in too much bass. The fix is to use you RCA outputs from you head unit into the subwoofer box giving a low level signal into the amp. If you don’t have RCA Jacks in the back of your head unit then you will need a line level converter to lessen the signal. You then would tap in existing speaker outputs wires from your head unit. Second-improper wiring. Many cases it’s poor ground or wiring line level converter wrong. You will need to adjust your EQ TO LOWER BASS TO ZERO (on the head unit), set your bass knob for subwoofer to the lowest setting. Play your music then raise the volume before music distorts, back off the head unit volume, then adjust your bass knob for more low end. The level knob on the subwoofer box should be set to 9 o’clock you can adjust up to 12 o’clock (don’t max it out). The frequency knob should be sitting at 12 o’clock to start, the higher the frequency the better. These speakers will not give you the ball busting lows. You will get more of a punchy mid bass tone. What I’ve suggested is a good place to start. Keep me posted!

    What kind of head unit do you have? Does your head unit have a built in amplifier? (Is it powered?). If your head unit has a built in amp to power speakers, the kicker amp will clip and cut off the signal hence no bass. Here are a couple of troubleshooting hints: 1. Go back to the video at 5:00 and review that you’ve got the switch’s set properly. 2. Turn all inputs on the kicker subwoofer to the minimum setting (input & bass). Turn frequency all the way to the right. 3. Turn down the bass frequency on your head unit all the way down (30/60 HZ frequency down). 4. Turn volume on head unit up between 10 and 15…. Slowly turn up input knob on kicker amp up until you get sound. You should get sound coming out of your kicker sub… Other things to check-is the LED light on the kicker amp blue when it’s turned on? If it’s Red, then it’s clipping…you will need to back off the bass and volume on your head unit…. Start with this first and let me know how it went…

If the amp in the box turns on the amp, then it’s the blue remote connection. I would start there…. If that’s the issue, you will need to tap into the an ignition powered accessory like the lighter receptacle. If it’s not the issue, check your positive wire connection and ground. Bad ground is usually the culprit…l hope this helps!

    @@332ARA the wire harness that comes with the subwoofer comes with 14 gauge wires. 12 gauge is a tad bit larger. So I tried to master the diameter of the wires throughout the install. With that said, if you are installing a stand alone amplifier, the size of the primary wire will depend on how much watts you will be pushing. Thats usually the case when you try to record it...it usually never comes out... You can make out the difference if you use good headphones earbuds. I guess you'll have to take my word for it that it does sound pretty good for a small sub box. Full transparency, if you're looking for loud and low thumping competition type bass, you're not going to get it out of this speaker. But if you are looking to add noticeable bottom end in your current stereo system, then this is a good solution. In the cab, you can definitely hear and feel the difference without advertising to would be thieves...lol

    @@unknownplayer6398 It all depends if your jeep has a hard/soft top. If your jeep just has a bimini top then NO, you will not feet it. You will hear the sound but not feel it. If you have a hard/soft then yes...the sound will resonate much better and you will feel it. I would suggest setting the crossover more towards 100hz for punchy bass. Like I said in my video, don't expect super loud booming bass. It will add a fuller sound with noticeable bottom to your current system. I hope this helps!

    @@unknownplayer6398 what matters is RMS. You will need to match the amplifier output to those speakers. Example: 10" speaker has a rating of 50 to 250 watts RMS (Rockford R2d2-10: Click this link to view specs: www.crutchfield.com/S-NXEaQao6hnE/p_575R2D210/Rockford-Fosgate-R2D2-10.html?XVINQ=DST&XVVER=2M7&awcr=386393273913&awdv=c&awkw=&awmt=&awnw=g&awug=9030017&gclid=CjwKCAjwp7eUBhBeEiwAZbHwkXiQ9bCQFRsSfpaVlyIh2Ppug11Ey9xY79i_2TpwjVNj8_FCF0-6ZhoCz6UQAvD_BwE. RMS is defined as: Root mean square or simply RMS watts refers to . RMS values are usually lower than peak watts ratings, but they represent what a unit is truly capable of handling. You will need an amplifier that has an output of 250 watts or greater to get the most out of the speaker. More watts RMS is much better then less. So if you are going to run two speakers, then you need to make sure your amp has double the watts in RMS. The 800 watts rating is more than likely a max watts that speaker can handle (unless it states 800 watts RMS). I hope this helps!

    @@dylanbushre2681 so you want to connect two PT250’s to just one wire source? It all depends on how many watts you Bose systems sends out. If your head unit has an internal amp that puts outs out 20 watts per channel, you will experience major clipping, distortion and bogging, that’s why you would use a PAC to reduce the signal. Technically you can go direct, but you will either loose signal so the subwoofer amp won’t turn on or you’ll get clipping….

    The Bass knob does connect to the jack located on the amplifier panel. If you are splicing into your wires, you don’t need to connect blue remote wire. This set up is the High Level Input (taping in to existing wires). The amplifier will sense a signal coming from your head unit and turn on the amplifier. NOTE: Make sure you set the “Auto Turn On” switch to “DC” and “Input Level” to “HI”…. I hope this helps! That’s for checking out the video and don’t forget to Like & Subscribe 🤙🏼

    Set switches to DC and HI input…(meaning you are not using your blue remote wire). The head unit output speaker wires are connected to the input wires to the amp. NOTE: the output wires from your head unit cannot be connect to any other speaker. I’m other words, if you have rear speakers and you tap into them, you need to disconnect the rear speakers so the amp can sense a signal… feel free to ask any other questions!

    Another note: if your head unit has a built in amp (head unit puts out 20 watts or more) the sub will clip and go into protect mode. You will need to back off on the bass EQ on your head unit. The way to fix this is to purchase a line leveler to reduce the signal…

The sub speaker inputs need to be connected to its own channel (example-left speaker coming from head units needs to attach to sub amp left speaker input and right to right). I hope I didn’t confuse you🤣
