All I have to say is that that was the most beautiful of all the speakers at the funeral. He really touched on the fact that she always struggled with her confidence even though she was the greatest singer of her generation. It was so beautiful and it was like he stood up for her. He thought he blew it when he didn't hug her mom, when you deal with death sometimes you don't know what to do. Your brain just isn't working. it's very common.

lets not "score" speakers at her funeral. it's inappropriate and low class. kevin was eloquent, yes. he may have had more emotional distance than other speakers, for all you know. everything doesn't need a rating. our sister has died. an amazing singer. her beloved friend did her proud, as did so many others. they all spoke with love about a loved one who's gone on forever.I urge you to delete that portion of your comment out of respect for the family and friends who did their best on a devastating occasion.

they seemed to have great chemistry grew up in the same area were the same age and went to the same church - does anyone know why they didn't get together? maybe it was the stereotype of differences in colour and ethnic back ground in those days it would have been a lot harder than it is today people are far more accepting of these types of unions these days fortunately the racial divide is dimishing and people are not only mixing more but actually enjoying it too - just look at the Rio Olympics people really enjoyed each others company of all races:)

Costner gracefully and tactfully acknowledged the elephant in the room by telling young girls to take care of their bodies and the gifts of their own lives. However he forgave her humanity and called out the divinity of her incredible talent. An absolutely incredible speech. RIP Whitney.

I think the feelings between Kevin and Whitney are deeper than love. It's like affection, respect for each other and deep feelings between two best friends. While for Kevin....Whitney is a talented favorite "student" Unfortunately .... whitney too deep on drugs, she don't know that so many people love her very much.

July 12, 2020 - In every interview Kevin has given since Whitney's death someone asks him about Whitney. The way he answers, indicate that he is still in love with her. Kevin was interviewed for his Yellowstone TV show in 2018 and has renewed for a season 4 (2021) Michael Strahan asked Kevin about Whitney and his answers were loving and very protective of her.

I must admit too...I was watching the funeral on the web...and when it hit that big "BOOM" in I Will Always Love You and those guys threw that casket on their shoulders...I lost it.

Totally would ship them! I wish they had gotten together.

They have strong feelings for each other, but they have to keep boundaries because he was married at that time. Kevin loves her (he admitted after her death) and she loved him too. I think her family knew the bond between them, that's why they call him to do eulogy.

Thank you Kevin for being kind and compassionate when speaking about Whitney. I absolutely hate all hosts and journalists. They’re not interested in the person. Or anything positive. They’re always looking to stir the pot to get someone to say something salacious or negative.

I think when Kevin says "the song I Will Always Love you brought everything back together", I think he was remembering the total picture of Whitney, their love, and the energy around"The Bodyguard", that sent them flying into the loving arms of the World,Smack Bam!!- certainly in my part of the world! My friends and I all went out and bought Kevin Costner posters for the first time,and the KC frenzy was unstoppable! Whitney caused that. He's reflecting how they were so good together. Magical!

"The world saw us having a very special relationship,"- Yes, the world yearned to celebrate those nuptials, perhaps surpassing the excitement for the "young Royals." Now sadly, there's just "an absolute goodbye," and a feeling of emptiness, nothingness, vanquished hope. (Maybe things might've been different if they realised how strongly the world loved them as a dynamic duo, and also as two beautiful, good people together.)

His eulogy was very emotional, bittersweet. And to think, the critics panned The Bodyguard and claimed Kevin and Whitney didn’t have any chemistry. Whenever Whitney was onscreen, Kevin’s face lit up. I think Whitney had that effect on people through her beauty and talent. May she Rest In Peace

I know what you mean. I did not know either, but her death sadden me so much. I am one of those who let celebrity death get affected me, but for some reason when I heard she died my heart just stop for a moment. I will never forget where I was or what I was doing when I heard about her death. I know we all going to die, but the way she died just makes angry and sad.

So saddening, continue to Rest In Peace Whitney...

A perfect example how an unremarkable romantic movie can turn into a magnificent story with right actors.

Kevin Michael Costner was totally in love with Whitney Elizabeth Houston this is TRUE FACT .... He would never distance himself from her in any form or fashion because he told the world on February 17, 2012 that Whitney was his One True Love. Had Whitney not married her Ex-husband Im sure Kevin would have Married Her for his wife. Never doubt the power of Love this Man really Love this Woman

And you forgot that he was married too to his first wife at that time...it was the wrong time!

It's all totally devastating and draining spiritually. For the past year, I've been trying to choose a group of words, a thought, a philosophy, that I can repeat to myself, to help get past this horror,... and it's hard. She was a real woman, soft, warm, and vulnerable, needing a protector, a lover, a friend all rolled into one man. She was just great. I feel her pain. I celebrate her always.

I really admire Kevin Costner he and the late Whitney Houston wow what a beautiful couple they made in the movie. I use to watch this movie over and over again. He is just a very special and beautiful soul. And I do wish as a fan that some how some where. He or someone could of saved Whitney from leaving us at such a young age of 48 years. I believe that there was so much more great songs and much more of her she would so love to give her fans. If she was with us today. But yes Kevin and Whitney are both beautiful souls and I saw something very special between them in the movie. Great memories are all we are left with. She is resting in peace for sure. Miss her I play her songs and proud that I got to know her through her great music. 💔🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
