Kentaro Kujirai and Barabbas Okuyama "A HUM SAN SUI, Mountains and Rivers from Alpha to Omega"【SUB】

Available in EN/FR/RU/TH Subtitles
A duo performance by KUJIRAI Kentaro and OKUYAMA Barabbas whose beginnings were Tenshikan and Dairakudakan, two of Japan’s most prestigious butoh companies.
The stage version debuted in 2018 and KUJIRAI earned the 50th Dance Critics Society of Japan’s Best New Artist Award with this work.
This film version, set in Honshu Island’s northeastern Tohoku region where the two were born and raised, and Tokyo where they are currently based, is performed with a new direction and composition. Like otherworldly beasts they dance to confront the sea and mountains of Tohoku, which heightens the feel of nature’s grandeur; and like rising bodies with trembling spirits, they dance as if their cries are being restrained by the winds of the city’s towering buildings.
Aimed to captivate the viewer from beginning to end, the bold camera work dynamically captures their every motion from every angle, making this a performance that shouldn’t be missed.

『阿吽山水 A HUM SAN SUI Film Ver.』
