The reason why they're not getting 50% of revenue like the men is because the WNBA loses money every year when you factor operating costs vs profit. Getting paid up to $230K/yr and the average salary is $103,000 for not making any profit and they only play 40 games compare to the men sounds like a fair deal to me 🤷🏾‍♂.

Playing a sport / acting is not the same as a hourly JOB. Playing a sport is based on how much money your sport version brings IN. Men's sports bring in MUCH more money than women's sports so hence the men get paid more for that sport. It's like actors. Jolie gets much more money than many male actors because SHE brings more money in. Other male actors that can't bring in as much money as Angelina Jolie would be silly to demand they receive the same amount of money person picture made that she does.

I went to a small high school, our girls basketball team was often state champions because they recruited well and had an excellent coach, our boys team was horrible, we had a total of 7 players and our tallest was 6'1. We got destroyed my freshman, sophomore, and junior years. We were just ...horrible. And we would scrimmage the girls team once or twice a week, and we beat the shit out of them by 40-50 points every time..and they were STATE CHAMPIONS...and we went 2-90 over three years in the boys league. In my senior year, it all changed, we had put together a crew of bad asses and we had learned how to play the game, we were tired of losing and we punched back at the boys league hard. We didn't win the championship but we beat teams that were considered some of the best in state and won tournaments no one would have given us a prayer to win. We ended the season 22-7 and got an invite to play in the boys Class C state tourney. We went out first round but still, we had stopped the losing streak and went out with respect. You know what else stopped that year? Scrimmaging the girls team...too many girls with broken jaws, broken arms, and concussions, and they went from losing by 50 to losing by 100. This is why the WNBA will never be a speck on the ass of the NBA in terms of entertainment and intensity. The best a women's team could ever field, could never beat the worst a men's team can field, and God help the girls if they ever played the men's best.....it would send them to the hospital every time.

In my opinion, they're looking for sympathy instead of a solution, I might go as far to say that they're hinting at NBA players should pitch in some of their salary in order for them (WNBA players) to make more money. 🙄😮‍💨😤

The first thing I would ask Kelsey is has she read the women's player association agreement with the WNBA, if she had or at least got a summary of it she would know that percentage increase is tied to a specific increase in revenue. Also, alot of the agreements that the WNBA has is tied to the NBA and not by their own market worth along with the NBA giving the WNBA 10 million every year directly. People need to remember that the life time channel drop the WNBA for poor rating. If I was in charge the first thing I would do is make all the teams play in College gyms because playing in NBA arenas is not a good look because of the lack of fans (even with them giving away tickets sell out are few and far between - a packed 1000 seat arena is better than having only 1000 fans in 15000 seat arena). The second thing I would do is look at all the cities that the teams are in and would consider moving teams to more women's basketball friendlier markets where there is a built in audience for woman's basketball. I would even consider folding the city team based concept and basing all the games out of one or two hubs cities (one on the east coast and the other on the west coast - I would actual pick Vegas and Florida). Lastly the fact that they are asking for more pay when WNBA has never made a profit is crazy.

They carried their NBA teams to championships. Few if anyone actually knows who she is. The rest of it is just obvious. You can't share profits that don't exist. They could share debts. Let's see if she'd care to cover some of the WNBA's annual losses. She comes across as pathetic in this interview. Chuck has the class to hold back on her, not because he respects her, but because he knows she couldn't take it if he disrespected her in the same way.

Doubt anyone knows who the current champion is.. I watched this video and still have no idea who she plays for.. nobody cares about the WNBA, just get rid of it already.

I feel the ladies should have a league and I appreciate their effort, but please don't disrespect the greats that played in the NBA. .many great players in all leagues have not won a championship, but still one of the greatest to play

When i was younger they had WNBA games on all the time. They tried to push it so hard. The stands were always empty. These girls make more than i do to play game. I can’t believe how entitled they are.

I would love to see WNBA players to do reaction videos to videos like this one.

I have never met a person....not a single one....that has ever purchased a ticket to a WNBA game. Won a pair of tickets as a door prize once. But I gave them away.

It's not just about percentages. The NBA actually pays the mortgage on WNBA venues.

I would like to know why the NBA keeps the WNBA going. Does it make business sence to take huge losses every year?

The consumer doesn't want the WNBA. The only reason it's still around is the teams don't want the back lash of ending it.
