Fab video once again Soph. Every winter I tell myself why on earth do I have a horse.. it's like torture coping with the weather, mucking out and dark days! But I'm still going strong after 10 years of having my ginger ninja. Oh just a little tip to expand on hot clothing... Use a microfibre cloth and almost too hot for your hands water, it literally picks up scurf and grime like nothing else. I did my pony last night as her clipped coat is starting to come through and that means plenty of grimey scurf!

I’m lucky. I have a grey that doesn’t stain, even I’m red Alabama mud. Give him a good brush and he’s clean! Now, the bay mare gets dirt down in her hair. And the ponies... we don’t talk about the ponies. As soon as the blankets come off they are CAKED. And their hair is too thick to brush normally. We usually have to use a hair brush type for a curry and a dog sticker to get down to skin.

Questions for the Q&A video: Do you feel a cob is a good horse for beginner adults? Why? Also, when did you get started in horses and what were you riding prior to Remmi? I have so many questions, I could go on forever. Side note: I loved this video. Especially Mara groaning as she rolled LOL. I haven't owned a horse in 25+ years, so it's nice to see the new (and old) products, and to be reminded of all the essentials of good care. I'm moving to Montana (from Los Angeles) and plan to get back into horses once my home is built.

How often do you wash your feathers and how often do you re apply oil ? Also - do you find the straw makes their legs itchy or does the oiling help with this ? I have the messiest gypsy cob ever and I’m finding his feathers are soaking up the poo … I’m considering trying a big straw bed to try and help the feathers but know he’s filthy to muck out 🙈 Loved this video too ! I’m now shopping online for some products! Thank you !

Hi Sophie, my new horse keeps getting bitten by flies (it's summer here) on the flank and I've tried everything to deter them but no product has really worked so far. Do you think the neem oil would work as a deterrent for that? I've tried to google it and it just says "it aids in the management of midge and mite related issues" but I'm not sure if that means it helps sooth the bite area or acts as a bite preventative? Sorry for the super long and slightly unrelated question to your video, but as you've used the neem before I thought you might have an answer? Thanks, Jess.

So I’ve never used it myself as a fly repellent but the retailer that I buy my Neem Oil from says it is fab at repelling flies. Certainly worth a shot at keeping those pesky flies away! X

So I bought a neem oil that isn't mixed with any carrier oil, does anyone know if I can use it on my horse directly? Like, without diluting it in a carrier oil or coconut oil? Thank you for the video Sophie! (Sorry, English is not my mother language 😝)
