How I clean my white horses | This Esme
Үй жануарлары мен аңдар
This was one of my most requested videos so I hope you enjoyed it! Also I do call the horses white (I know I should call them greys) but in Mickeys passport it actually says white and Casper does not really have any black hair so I call them both White as it is just easier ahah :D x

Omg this literally helped me so much even though I have a bay. There is so much information which I can use. I never knew you could use baby oil for mud fever, that's really helpful thanks :) Also well done for 6k! Only just noticed!

This is sooooo helpful! I ride a Piebald horse and she's out in the field every day and in England it rains a lot! She loves to roll and run in the mud so her legs get really muddy! I'm going on pony club days this summer and I'm riding her! We have a turn out comp and this really helped!

I love your videos and your horses ... I have the same problem but different. my horse is a very dark bay so he manages to get every single speck of dust on his coat.. but when I groom him he is nice and clean ... and the other horse that I look after she is a dapple and so whenever I put her out in the field she always seems to get grass stains and it's a nightmare to get out so I used the grass stain remover tip really helpful so thank you ... also if you are looking for a good main and tail conditioner I suggest baby oil ... I have been using my horses mains and tails for over 2 years now and it has really helped .. just remember not to put too much in otherwise their mane will start to go greasy and oily ... I love your videos!Keep up the great work! also, I love your barn 😘xxxx

Love your outro btw!♥️♥️
I used to use toothed metal curry combs like that, both in foldable loop shape and fixed large circle with smaller circle inside it, but now I almost exclusively use rubber curries. Just personal preference--you can brush as hard as you want without hurting them, and as bonus, it gives them a skin massage. Especially great for horses with sensitive skin! I've got a rubber curry with short rounded nubs (surface dirt and summer months) and one with long triangular nubs (deeper dirt and winter months, perfect for thicker coats). My horse isn't particularly sensitive but she always stiffened up a little when I used any metal curries, head up and wide awake, then relaxed when I moved on to brushes. She especially didn't like me using them on her ribcage, upper neck, and similar areas with less padding. With the rubber curry combs she kept her head low, whole body relaxed, even before the brushes. If I did a really thorough job, she'd doze off just standing there!
What do you do in winter if it's too cold for you to wash the mud?
@sopatoistaylor476
6 жыл бұрын
Amaya Oldroyd alot of barns have hot and cold water mine doesn't so I just let the mud dry and use a curry. Also it helps if you get a winter blacket I know alot of people don't agree but I get a thick winter blanket I live in washington so It gets really cold but the blanket jeeps him warm enough so he doesn't get a winter coat and it helps alot with keeping them clean

Esme has a horse shower but she doesn't use it much
Great video Esme!!I have a palomino who can't wear a combo rug because it rubs. Yesterday it rain and she rolled in the mud, she ended up with mud dreadlocks and a huge thick cot of mud all over her neck and I couldn't wash her cause it is winter here in australia!! So the problem isn't just with greys!
@ThisEsMe
7 жыл бұрын
Isabella Caria Yeah I get that too! I never put a rug on with a neck attachment either as it rubs their mane s' out! Plaiting sometimes helps to prevent the horses dreadlocks look or you could get a horse shower like I have so it is nice and warm :) At least with a palomino you don't get the problem of yellow staining ahah :D

Your horses are so beautiful!
Omg love your channel!! New subbie, also what kind of camera did you use?
you're so amazing and such an inspiration
I had a cremello mare in my late teens. I remember the struggle! But I loved seeing her true color show after a good bath.
You saved my life with this video ! Now i dont spend hours trying get off the yellow stains in the legs and body in general ! Thx so much. Keep up the good work 😁
Ive got a crazy, rollypolly *WHITE* Arabian who just ADORES rolling. Getting stains off him is hard. Thank you! The Baby Oil tip worked so well! Favorite youtube account ever oml.
This video was very useful and satisfying to watch!! My gelding is a skewbald (to non-equestrians that’s brown and white) and his white patches are in all the places that mud gets most 😂 his legs, hindquarters, neck and all the brown in in places like his belly and back which is very convenient 😂😂😂
They are so pretty I'm in love!!!
Do you advice to use a warm bucket of water and a brush in winter when it is coals to get the mud of?
your horses are sooo cute i love horseback riding and i have a black horse named cola how long do u usually keep them in their stables
Omg thank you so much for the baby oil tip! Not heard of it before. I have a grey Connemara X who comes in from the field with his legs caked in mud so much at the moment!
This’ll be soo helpful on waterfall thx esme ilysm
Story of my life! thank you Esme!
This video has saved my soul from scrubbing my grey gelding’s coat for hours
Do you wash your horses with warm or a bit colder water???
I love you and your horses yo are doing an amazing works actually you are my favorite KZreadr keep going😍😍😘😘
Question about the stain remover, what brand do you use and is it like a actual stain remover like for carpet or is it more of a gentle spray?
This video was sent from heaven
What product do you use for stain remover or what ingredients do you use to make it? It would be so helpful if you could tell me as I have a piebald that has white legs. Love this video too. 💗🐴
Esme, what kind of stain remover do you use i know you sometimes use it and was wondering as i dont know wether to use fabric or if it might hurt my horses skin
What is your stain remover? I would like to know because my horse white spots ALWAYS gets grass stains and poo stains so could you please make a video on the recipe.
Question i have been trying for a week now to get bot fly eggs of this pony but he is very young and spooky and they are right in-between his legs and on his hocks i've gotten them all off his back and mane but he wont let me get that area
Thank you This Esme I'm getting a white horse soon so it has really helped me
There is a grey at my yard named Casper as well! Do you have any more advice on dealing with wet mud? My friend and I watched this video when we were volunteering at a stables and it was really helpful so thank you
I love ur KZread channel and ur horses are lovely 😊 and I love ur horses there just so good.
Love the video! what is the stain remover you use called? x
What do you do if its cold out? I have an appaloosa who always rolls in the mud, but here in ohio it rains a lot in the beginning of spring, which is also when it is still cold out. She has heaves and has an outdoor stall so cold hose water is not an option for her. Do you have any other suggestions? :)
Casper was so proud of his master mud work😂😂
I don’t know how you keep your horses clean but you are so good at it
I own a white horse and it’s so difficult to get all of the stains out of his coat this was so helpful and made my job so much easier
Can we just take a sec and admire that this video is 7:00 minutes EVEN!!!!! It’s to satisfying
How do you make stain remover for horses?
I could watch your videos all day!! ❤️My horse always gets her legs dirty... What kind of stain remover do you use on Mickey and Caspian? 😊
I have the same portable shower I use the Lil trolly it’s on to carry shavings xx great vid
