Kawasaki Z H2 Maintenance Costs | Supercharged RIPOFF?

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Welcome to our video addressing a concern some owners of the Kawasaki Z H2/H2 SX/Ninja H2 have had regarding its maintenance costs. Should you really expect to pay a premium for regular maintenance on Kawasaki's supercharged motorcycle range, or is it just a classic case of getting ripped off by garages and main dealers? We also discuss how much you could save by doing some of the maintenance yourself. Let us know if you've been ripped off in the past by garages and whether you spotted it in the comments.

I originally bought a '22 Tuono and after riding it for 20 mins the temp maxed out and had to turn bike off. Returned it back to Aprilia and later found out there were bad batches. So, because of 'Goblin RIDES' I bought a '23 ZH2 and couldn't more happier. Its fkn awesome :)

These bikes are like any other. If you beat on them hard you will likely have costly repairs. Be good to it like you mention and it will last for tens of thousands of miles. The design Behind The Supercharged system comes straight from their Engineers who work in the aero division that Kawasaki has. I think they know what they're doing. This isn't something built in the garage with an eBay turbo lol. Great video.

I don’t get why people are on about cost. Service every 7500 miles and big one at 17k is nothing. We live in England you won’t rack up miles that quick

Depends. I don't have a car, so do about 15k a year on a bike. The cost of the 30k is enough to stop me buying this bike.

Reminds me of buying a printer then being ripped off on ink cartridges! How much would a replacement supercharger cost? I think I don’t want to find out!

So far, the most expensive thing was the BTmoto stage 2 tune to the ECU (2023 Z h2) added 52 horse, it's now about 224 to the rear wheel, but well worth the $1400 spent, also was included was the stock and after tune dyno hp measurements, if you have a Z h2, you will enjoy it more after a ECU tune.

The zh2 is my favourite of the supercharged range, so I was interested in this video - probably worth a couple of calls to find out expected 15/30,000 service costs 👍

Thanks for the great content! I have to comment on your phone mount though. You’ve got that beautiful ZH2 and then a huge ugly cheap looking phone mount 😭. Why not go for something a little more sleek? My phone is parked right next to the TFT display and looks almost like it came like that from the factory. Keep up the great videos! 💪

The people are right I would stay away from superchargers on a motorcycle your bills going to be way more than the zx1400 they're correct in their assessment it's nice to have a supercharger for performance and for mechanics that know how to do the maintenance but there's a lot more maintenance in the bike. And the bike won't last as long as either no matter what people tell you you should have kept a zx1400 much better bike and probably better performance. From a lazy big engine that will last forever I've have a Hayabusa similar to the zx1400 you don't do anything to it it's just a huge engine forty thousand miles on it and still got plenty more to go no matter what boost it's fun but it's expensive.

This is why over all, I class the zzr1400 as the best ALL round bike ever.. If anything ever happens to my zzr1400, I would probably look at the Busa.. Its so sad that the big SPORT tourers aren't in as much completion as they use to be.. Blackbird. Busa Zzr1400

2022 H2SX only issue so far was the screen resetting itself while i was riding lol, quick ecu flash and fixed. amazing bike. As for costs i havent really looked around, took it to kwak dealer i bought from, seems a fair price compared to my other 1Litre bikes i have had in the past.

I’m just in the process of buying my 5th ZZR 1400 on a 68 plate. I was in thd dealership today asking about the H2 SX and they were saying about costs . They said towards 40k miles kawasaki recommend the fuel pump to be changed as the supercharger builds up a lot of pressure . They said that’s about £800? Not sure about other costs . I’ll stick with my ZZR once I get it and maybe look at the H2 in the future

Yeah a tad expensive to service, not so much an issue on Z H2 but on the SX H2 a touring bike it is, 7600 miles is £381, 15200 is a £1000, 22800 is £448 and 30400 is a lovely £1993 or £266 yearly and £441 two yearly! So how many do you think are going to be serviced properly once they come out of the warranty period, not many will be my guess!

There's no way in HELL I'm ever spending that much money on maintenance, I pre ordered the new 2024 hayabusa and once the 2 year warranty is out I'm doing all the service myself. I can't imagine being that much different than a zx14r maintenance cost wise and there is absolutely no way I'm spending 2 grand or more on 15k/30k service.

Everything in the UK is expensive. Got a ballpark figure from my local garage to change the cam belt on my 10 year old turbo diesel car…..£1500 gulp. I checked later online, belt kits are approx £800 and then a day and a half’s labour so yea, it’s a big job, probably about right. Buy a ZH2 it ain’t gonna be cheap to run, do routine work yourself is fine until you want to sell it or trade it.

try a Harley i dropped 2k into the bike at 35k miles just to do tappets (lifters) you must pull the valves and head and cylinder (the cylinder because the head is what holds it down and there is a gasket you must change) thats cost for gaskets specialty tools lifters (tappets) reused push rods etc just oil for the bike is $200 ( im a fan of all bikes just Harley has by far been the most expensive to up keep

I maintain my own equipment. I don't trust my life to some school-leavers practicing on my bike. I bought my Z H2 SE from a powersports dealer in Sublimity Oregon. When I was loading it onto my truck, I noticed that the rear seat wasn't latched. Which would have flown off on the trip home. I check over the bike, and the battery terminals were improperly installed? I wanted to buy the bike in the crate, but couldn't. The idea of some child revving a new engine to hear the "chirp" was terrifying. If you need a special tool, and plan to keep the bike, it's cheaper and you know you've done it correctly. Go into the service department and talk to the mechanic that will work on your bike. Here in the US, technical schools are filled with out-of-state kids on drug-charge diversion programs. UTI, MMI etc., etc. in AZ are just a clearing house for addicts and thieves. Beware.

I don't understand why you didn't just keep the zx1400 that bike is sicker than that supercharged junk most important reliability I told you before superchargers are nothing but problems they're great why they work they're great if you're going to keep the bike for a couple years and dump it however if you kept the bike for as long as you can they're not a good deal down the road headaches.
