Kawasaki Z-H2 SE | Supercharged Power Baby!!

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

For 2021 Kawasaki have launched a SE version of the naked Z-H2. The Z-H2 SE has electronically adjustable suspension and upgrade brakes but the question is, is it any good?

For 99% of riders on the road this won't be any slower through corners than anything else out there. What it does give you is a much more relaxed riding position with phenomenal performance coupled with an ability to do almost any type of riding.

100% this, I’ve come from an s1KRR and I just picked up a zh2 and I can tell you I’m not any slower on the zh2 Too many people get hung up on numbers and ohlins. Saying it’s too heavy and it needs ohlins this and ohlins that. It’s a road bike built for the road it’s great at what it does if anything the extra weight helps it become more stable. If you want a track weapon go get yourself a bmw hp4 race 😂

@@ur2slob724 Very true, all those professional riders or better riders than us "normal" riders will tell the deference and can ride harder on it with all those extra toys. The standard one with another end can would suit me just fine. I was thinking of buying one but they cost a lot the insure though, compared to my Z900.

I literally just beat a newer rider on my Z1000, and a v8 camaro, up a little twisty run with a little shadow 500. It ain’t the bike it’s the rider, and it ain’t about being fastest it’s about having some fun instead of being stuck in a cage. if you’re such a “good” rider that you can’t see yourself with certain bikes because the handling isn’t good enough, you’re not riding for the right reasons. I’d rather be a fast guy on a slow bike than a slow guy on a fast bike any day!

Hey Chopsy, another great honest review. In Oz we aren’t getting the SE option so makes choice simple!! After looking at BMW S1000R and Tuono, I recently just bought a 2021 STD one of these. Added the ‘short’ and noisy black Akro and just ordered a Nitron R3 Shock to sort the rear… Pleasure when riding is all about perspective.. I reckon I’d be going quicker on track with this over my old Thunder Ace and for the road she is a weapon!! I also have the same colour but without the green reined seat. Looks awesome in the sun and the front end grows on you, and I have come to love it. Unique and menacing looks… and bloody fast!! Cheers mate and thanks again for the great content!!

Hi Chops Shame the Skyhook suspension not being that varied as it could be. When I took out the standard I must admit it was very strong in the engine department but like you said it was the weight and agility that let it down compared to the Super Duke. Also it’s a bit on the expensive side for the SE especially without heated grips which I would expect for that money. Still loved it though for giggles in a straight line. Can’t wait for you to try out the new Suzuki GSX S1000 GT because I think this might make the perfect sports tourer for 2022. Hopefully will be at the NEC this year

My setup is Akra slip-on (no baffel), RP intake, RP fuel dongle, PCV with RP power map + ignition advance. Is there a difference in bike set up for Europa and the US? We do have higher quality fuel in Norway, but that alone cannot explain the great improvement? What are your thoughts on this?

Funny about the dyno numbers? Gen3 Busa officially 187 hp but I've seen 2 dyno vids at 178 and 180 hp rear wheel. Indicating maybe better than 187 actual crank hp. This Kawi officially 200 but only getting 170-ish hp rear wheel on the dyno? Indicating quite a bit less than 200 hp real world at the crank? What's your feeling from riding both bikes?

Different dynos read different numbers. Weather , temp, how it’s strapped down.. etc etc etc all come into play.. At the end of the day it’s just a number. I’ve seen the zh2 dyno from 170-190hp atw again depending on the dyno/weather. What you need to remember is that the ecu is restricted above 9k the throttle starts to close. With a simple ecu derestrict they dyno north of 230hp with a stock exhaust I own an s1000rr and a zh2.. from 0-150 KPH the zh2 would leave the bmw behind

Some of the H2 models, mine a 2022 being one of them. Push oil up though the crank case vent tube into the intake runner upstream of the supercharger. Given my aggressive riding style after 400 miles I have oil dripping out of the intake runner onto the floor. Kawasaki will not acknowledge the problem so they have no fix for the problem. My ZH2 is at the Kawasaki dealer were they are clueless as to the source of the problem. Tearing into my engine blindly. My advise, the bike is a rocket and despite being over 500 lbs. you can still run it though the corners fast enough you will wear your tires from edge to edge. Hold off on purchasing an H2 until Kawasaki has a fix for the problem.

You can park near enough on the beach and trough your way through a proper flinglish (none of this plant-based nonsense) while enjoying a view across the bay towards Portland 👌. That bike is no doubt a technological marvel and great to ride, but I'd have to put a paper bag over its head. Fugly or what? 😳

Unless your riding like a tool or a track day warrior standard stuff is more than enough for 95% of us including me. I test rode everything from the mt10 sp/monster/Superduke/tuono/speed 1050rs.. Left the zh2 till last let’s just say I made my mind up after a 20min test ride. It’s a beautiful bike with power to embarrass most litre bikes. Don’t forget with a simple derestrict on the ecu you will go from 185hp atw to 220hp atw..
