PGN here chess24.com/en/watch/live-tou...
Garry Kasparov is back in action tonight in the Champions Showdown: Chess 9LX, where he’ll face Magnus Carlsen in their first competitive game since 13-year-old Magnus took on the legend in Reykjavik in 2004. The 10-player round-robin also features Fabiano Caruana, Hikaru Nakamura, Alireza Firouzja and reigning Chess960 World Champion Wesley So. Two days later the St. Louis Rapid & Blitz begins, with Nepo, Grischuk, Harikrishna and Xiong replacing Kasparov, MVL, Caruana and Svidler.

Kasparov once described Carlsen as a "lethal combination of Fischer and Karpov" . I can't help wonder how exciting and full of creative, close, hard-fought games Kasparov would have had against Fischer. This game was an enjoyable duel. Kasparov is truly a legend of the game. Carlsen's play in this game was reminiscent of a neo-Fischer; perhaps he has to tap into his inner "Karpov" to convert those very technical endgames where only one move wins!

i had an idea for a variation of chess, when a piece captures 3 times it gains an ability. for example a pawn will then be able to capture en passant at any given time, queen gains the knights moveset, rook gains king moveset, bishop and knight can move one square horizontally or vertically and finally the king can capture twice in one direction (activated white pieces will turn red, black pieces blue)
