Normal people hate boring rook and pawn endgames too. Id much rather have fun playing wild lines throwing pieces away in a mating attack rather than trading off and grinding out a one pawn edge in a boring pawn and king endgame. Probably end up drawing it via stalemate or getting flagged in a completely won position.
Tal's complicated tactics also applies to his health apparently. "Hot coffee for your cold?" "Nah I'll just have a smoke"

You gotta give Philip Norman Wallis credit. It takes serious balls playing a line like this against Tal. Also, 13:00, remember, if you lose a piece and win, it's a "sacrifice." It's only a "blunder" if you lose. 😁😁

His style has such a profound impact on human players, it rattles them to their core. @@insight827 I am not saying that it wasn't a brilliant move, but if it loses with best play, it's by definition called a blunder. The original comment said that it isn't a blunder until a human loses with it, which I wanted to correct.
Tal had a cold and won. Tal had real health issues and still excelled in chess. On 28 May 1992, at the Moscow blitz tournament (which he left the hospital to play), he defeated Kasparov. He died one month later. Knowing this shows that Tal was an exceptional human being not only one of the greatest chess players in history. He was also very well respected and loved among his peers. Tal - The Immortal Player
The complexity of this game is just next level. I don't remember the last time I had to keep in mind so many possible attack formations to not get checkmated and beeing defended so well! Most time it's just a horrific attack that stands out in a game or maybe a good recovery. But spectacular attacks and defence together, this was like the final moments of a big/intense final football match.
I love how even his blunders can be construed as a sacrifice
The way he says “I mean, come on…” at 4:50 is priceless 👌🏻
"Tal is one of the greatest attackers in history." "So how are you going to play against him?" "Oh, I'm gonna invite him to attack my king."

Morphy was a rarity. He had a natural brilliant aptitude for chess. I read a story about a civil war general, who asked a friend to set him up with a strong chess player in the area he was visiting, since he fancied himself a good player. The person who showed up, was a boy around 13 or younger. The General thought he was the butt of some joke, but the young boy, who played against him was none other than Paul Morphy, who had no trouble beating him.
@wot_hog

@@kevinmalone3210 Yes, that was in 1846, before the Civil War, and Morphy's opponent was General Winfield Scott, who was on his way down to Mexico at the time. Morphy beat him easily twice in a row, and was just 9 years old at the time. Morphy repeated a similar feat, defeating the visiting Hungarian master Johann Löwenthal in 1850, when he was 12.

Well it actually does because the op is assuming Tal would be backed by engine to improve his play and in the context it would mean he will analyse games using an engine and influence his play.
