story 2: I absolutely agree with the boyfriend that the meaning is not lost but I still would have done the googling before the ink lol. But I'm always super careful with my tattoos and usually take a year or more to decide and finalize the idea and design, so what do I know about impulse. It's still sweet for the meaning of their relationship. Just as long as they learned the lesson and never do that thing where they get a random thing in a language they don't know before verifying what it ACTUALLY says.

Tbh? It's really sad that you consider that lucky. All children should have the freedom to grow up and choose for themselves what kind of beliefs they have. It's really sad that this kind of behavior is so normalized that people like us (I grew up in a home that didn't force religion either) consider ourselves in a lucky minority. But as soon as we start saying something about it, everyone starts panicking and screaming about freedom of religion and parental rights.

3rd story: Well, that's cult level disturbing. Like why did it JUST come out that his mother had connections with the school? Like he does know other private schools exist right? And what happened to liking open-mindedness. They pulled the OP in so slowly and subtly that she didn't see it and that older guy hanging around and making threats is the epitome of not ok.

I used to go to a religious school. I swear there were cults going on in there All the bathroom locks were gone There were no bathroom door (except for the stalls) The stalls had 2 ft. clearance from the floor every day we not only read the pledge of elegance but we also read the "pledge to the bible" all the milk was made by locals, overpriced, and expired instead of having ABC's on the top of the wall like a normal school, it had scriptures. I remember taking a tour and being like "what kindergartener is going to know how to read Matthew 5:14?" Not to mention that this was a k-h school. Yes, they had people growing up their whole lives in that scenario. A literal Mcdonalds toilet stall would be a better place to grow up. At least you might be able to smell food that doesn't constantly give you food poisoning... -wait

I was raised as Catholic but it was never to the extent this woman talks about with her young daughter. In my teen years I started attending an annual worship camp, to me it was more about the companionship and the fact that it felt like a family at times. However, there was a lot of charismatic worship going on including speaking in tongues which I had never witnessed before and the first time it happened I almost passed out through fear! I was never comfortable with it after that, to this day it still makes me very uncomfortable. Eventually I stopped attending the camp for several reasons. I totally understand what the mother is talking about with her concerns about how her daughter is being taught about religion. I don't know for sure but it sounds like Jehovah's witnesses to me. An ex of mine grew up in that religion/cult and some of the stories she told me were truly disturbing and made me feel sick. Religion can be a wonderful thing and can bring hope and understanding and closure. Unfortunately it can also be a very harmful thing when taken to the extreme.

My friend told me that he abused her and kicked her dog and locked it up because he peed on his leg. Story 1: Ugggh, forget malicious compliance here, i would just get malicious with this stupid Karen. It should be people's civic duty and legal right to be rude back to customers like this. Good thing the OP walked away and "did his job" and the assistant manager ignored her. Totally hate people like that. Story 2: OP and her bf jerks, but at definitely stupid. I can't believe they would take something off of a crappy sitcom at face value and then get matching tattoos. Stuff like that is why you need to think more about getting tattoos. At least they are happy and still accept it, so i guess all is well here. Story 3: That's what a lot (not all but a lot) of those private religious schools are like, quick to indoctornate rather then teach. The OP really should've seen a lot of this coming. Super religious parents, the dad in this case, and extended family can be absolutely crazy and downright dangerous. What irked me was the old guy creeping around, saying he was 'looking out for the welfare' of the child, trying to use the OP's anxiety against her, and then threatening to "protect" her. You can almost bet that the husband's family are planning to kidnap the child. The OP should not only file for divorce, but id definitely be getting a restraining order against the husband and his family, but also some kind of security or police protection here. She and her daughter are in immediate danger here. Story 4: Wash your own damn car then, you POS! All over not being able to get the roof? Let it slide or give them a boost or something. The OPs mom is awesome here, the guy deserved his tongue-lashing, and probably is lucky he didn't get knocked out. I would've written down his license plate as well, try and report him for harassing the kids.

That’s the problem with a good amount of religious groups. They talk about peace and friendship while they bully and destroy people not in their group and those with different thinking. I’m religious but I don’t go to churches and I am open minded. I’m thing is I don’t care who you are, what religion, and what you identify as just don’t push your ideas nor hate on me.

Nowhere does the Bible say a man shall let his mother and father dictate how he is with his wife.

Eh, husband should have been more supportive of the wife. I don't know what she expected though. These are easily seen issues. I say that as an atheist. Because it is obviously. Also frogs don't actually sit in a pot while it boils. Not surprising that he would be angry that she went along with this so long and that suddenly this happened. Should have brought it up earlier. Not that her concerns are wrong. But this is an obvious problem. Good to focus on the kid. Cults are scary. She should have realize this would be an issue. Not that the husband isn't responsible. Just that this is very predictive.

The second story: Her first mistake was watching Friends. It's a pale limitation of Three’s Company with repetitive storylines. It definitely should not have ran for ten seasons. Also, Phoebe Buffay was the stereotypical lovable dimwit. I find it laughable that took something said, by a fictional character who's written as being less than intelligent, as totally factual. If they want to rectify this, they can get sea turtle tattoos. Sea turtles mate for life.

    Hello

  • @GwenMasters
    @GwenMasters Жыл бұрын

I think it’s very likely that the husbands family are the kind of people who are fanatic. I definitely know people like that. I’m Religious myself and belong to a church that is the butt of a lot of jokes. But while I’m always open to conversation about religion with others and sharing my beliefs, I DON’T belief in shoving it down others throats. Personally, I’m not against homeschooling either. My husband was homeschooled actually! And he is insanely wicked smart! But I also believe it needs to be done right👍🏻 I work in childcare and am very aware of how important socializing is. In fact, I am the person I am today because I moved every year of my life and went to so many different schools and met so many different people. Home schooling gets a bad rep because you really only hear about the extreme cases. But in this story, I do think this mom is in the right. That is some weird behavior in her child! She’s right that it’s not normal. And while sometimes kids do crazy things(My mother walked in on me trying to morph into a tiger after I read a sci fi book🤣) I take into account that this is obviously a great mom. And any mom like that catches on to abnormal behavior fast. I’ve seen it time and again as a childcare worker and nanny. Mothers have strong instincts! If she was being ignored by her husband and not taken seriously, than I fully support her and understand taking things into her own hands to protect her child! Fathers have rights too, but it sounds like he was practically waving those rights away before. And as someone who supports homeschooling I can say that I truly don’t think their is anything wrong with her wanting her child to go to public schools. Especially if they align with her beliefs and values! Listening to this story made me suspect something horrible though. I have this suspicion that the husband married her during his “rebellious phase”. (Which would be so incredibly irresponsible!!!) Anyone who’s grown up religious probably knows what I’m taking about. It’s kinda a part of growing up when your raised in a traditional religious home. Whether it was a good environment or not. What often happens is that we reject the culture and seeks out a new one that fits better, or we realize that the culture they grew up with provides what they were looking for all along. And neither experience is wrong, because everyone’s different🥰 It’s a bit obvious which one I am though😂 But I love that time I spent getting to know myself! I’ve seen it go other directions before though. I think it’s likely the husband is either tightly controlled by his parents(narcissistic parents), or he’s realized his beliefs are actually closer to what he was raised with. Which would explain the disconnect between the couple and why he seems so different. And if that’s true? It’s so important that she gets an attorney and follows through with divorce. She deserves to be in a mutually loving environment with emotional support! I hope she and her daughter are safe and that they stay that way💜

Seriously guys, don't marry someone who doesn't share your values. 3rd story they should never have gotten married. Too many differences. They should have broken up and gone with other people. Feelings be damned And the husband is right. Public schools are bs now. I would rather have someone actually teach my kid and "indoctrinate" my child with things about the Bible instead of not being educated in the essential subjects in public school and being taught woke theology and gender fluidity when that needs to come from the parents. But not everyone feels like they and that's ok. And i would be one to THOROUGHLY inspect the school. Go through the doctrine, teachers, subjects etc. The parents were both wrong. They should never have gotten married. I keep repeating it because it's true. They should NEVER have stayed together Now i feel like that guy coming around is uber creepy. Omg. Cops called and guy arrested. Stalking her kid. That's so creepy You marry someone and think the life differences and values of the other person won't matter because "they love each other sooo much" Pfffft. Hell yes they matter. Why do you think a lot of people in this situation get divorced? Don't do it. For the love of God people, don't do it

You wanna know what the guy from the last story was thinking? He was thinking there just a bunch of kids, I can say or do anything and refuse to pay them a cent. What are they gonna do about it?! That’s why he nearly wet himself when a grown woman that was probably up to his chest actually stood up to him. He was a coward!

Christians. Please listen to me. The belief in hell at all is an extraordinarily creepy and hateful belief. You honestly believe that if a person doesn't conform to your beliefs, that not only are they going to be tortured for all eternity, but that they DESERVE IT. Do you see how others might find that a little bit offensive? It doesn't matter if you say "Hate the sin, not the sinner" because you still believe that "sinner" *DESERVES* to be tortured for all eternity. As an atheist, I can honestly tell you that I don't believe that ANYONE deserves to be tortured for all eternity. I don't have that kind of hate in my heart. Please, read your bible, and examine it objectively. Read it from cover to cover and ask yourself if you'd want to live in a world like that.

For story 3, I’ve always been baffled by some of the extremes that deeply religious people take. I’m not very religious myself, if anything I’m neutral about religion. I don’t believe in it but at the same time I don’t believe it is pointless. The only time I have issue with anything religious is when people try to force me into joining or whatnot and can’t seem to take no for an answer, or when religion and politics go to complete war over something that can be done with time and patience. Let the child decide, teach them about religion and teach them to be open minded and let them decide. It is a god given right to decide and choose, isn’t it?

To all you who think the mother of the daughter enrolled in the private school is 100% in the right y’all are stupid that goes for you too AMITheJerk. Listen to what the OP said. She had anxiety and is freaking out because the child is talking about hell preaching bible verses and swaying to the music. It is a religious school this is expected. OP claims her anxiety is under control but I doubt that. I’d recommend you guys look at the definition of anxiety. Since I believe OP’s anxiety is affecting her decision let’s excuse her claims the husband isn’t taking anything seriously What I think happened is that she brought multiple petty concerns and her husband just starting thinking it was her anxiety OP’s decision to pull her child out of school without consulting her husband is what makes her the jerk that’s a breach of trust plain and simple as for what happened after that I think he told his mother about the anxiety and she told her actually crazy religious people.

she didn’t want to send her kid to the religious school in the first place and then when she kept bringing up concerns her husband ignored her despite saying before that they could put her in a different school if it didn’t work out. it’s disgusting to try to use somebody’s anxiety disorder against them like this and blame every decision they make on it, but that’s obviously what the father/his family are planning to do here too so y’all think alike. even without an anxiety disorder if you see your kid acting in alarming ways (it is alarming despite the fact it’s apparently normal to some religious people) you’re going to worry

@@remi5705 your a stupid simp. While I can understand that she never wanted to send her kid to the religious school she decided to compromise she is clearly bothered by simple things like the teaching of heck and praying again this is a religious school this should be expected non of this is concerning I could understand if she was talking about homosexulity or transgenderism but she isn't. I'm not going to say that I'm not using her anxiety against her but I do think that her anxiety is making her make a big deal out of something that isn't that big the only thing I have seen that was concerning was the man who harrased OP on her property but I don't think that is the husband. Also it isn’t disgusting to use someone’s mental illness against them if their actions are related to systems of said mental illness do you even know the symptoms of anxiety Gringo? OP should have not pulled her kid out of the school without at least talking to her husband fathers are not second class parents I don't know what it's so hard for you English devils to understand that.

Story 3: I’m a kinda religious person and I think the mom had extreme bias when making her decisions, the praying is just her practicing her beliefs, the speaking gibberish is speaking in tongues which is common thing to happen to preachers when they get very in the moment while preaching, although I do think the parents may be in a weird cultish version of Christianity, I do think OP was a bit closed minded and didn’t do much research before making a headfirst decision, also within the story I don’t remember her asking her daughter if she liked it or wanted to stay there, so that’s weird to me. Also I don’t think husband was the one that got the old guy to do that, it makes a lot more sense for me that the parents were nosy as hell, heard about her anxiety, and went behind the husbands back and did that

Story 3: coming from a Christian household, (as far as I can tell) all the things the daughter was doing is normal... the issue is that the husband is a failure of a father and religious leader. He should be the one to talk with his child and help her understand what she is learning in school. I can understand, however, why it would look strange and alarming. It is obvious to me that the husband and his family are either failures as Christians or not even Christian at all... so please don't let this turn you away from religion, as this example is far far FAR from an accurate example of good Christianity

Story 3: as someone who is religious in a sense and grew up in church i don't see anything wrong with how the child was acting in the story. I actually was pretty similar to the daughter growing up and i hope that the mother doesn't push away religion from the daughter bc of her biases. However the adults in this situation are all jerks. The husband reacted very poorly and involved his ultra religious family in the situation that didn't need that. The wife was wrong for making the decision without consulting her husband though as she originally made him sound like a reasonable person before she made this decision and this caused him to spiral back to the cult behavior. Story 3: there is literally a girl here on KZread that talks about a “school for troubled girls” it’s all around bad. The entire time I’m listening to this story I can’t help but think of that girl’s many experiences. But at least she’s around her parents everyday so it’s not like she lives at the school. Still, the OP NEEDS to look into the school more online.

Story #3. Sounds to me like the parents in law r in a cult. Its weird how the husband says he's not a religious fanatic like his parents then after u guys have ur daughter he totally changes that narrative about himself. Almost like his parents finally talked him into joining their "church" plus making u put ur daughter in the school of said "church" & the weird stuff ur child's doing, the way the teachers & staff treat u & act around u, & the weird feeling u get when u r there & around them & the weird feelings ur getting from ur daughter. Now there's some weirdo old guy creepin around & saying things to u he shouldn't know & other creepy stuff. I bet he's from their "church". This just screams cult like activity to me. I cant see any other type of religious or church going people acting like this. I've also known kids who went to religious private schools & never have they acted like ur describing & the staff & teachers weren't off putting heck from what I was told they were too happy all the time. Also if they got taken out they didn't have weirdo creepin around. I was like oh maybe its just a strict religious school & church but then when she said about the dude creepin & all the other weird stuff that's when I thinking cult. I actually started feeling nervous & anxious for her. I hope she gets far far away from these ppl & she can prove how nuts her soon to b ex husband & soon to b ex parents in law r & she gets full custody of the daughter. Good luck. 😊❤
