Kada Prasad or Atta ka Halwa is a rich dessert prepared in Desi Ghee (clarified butter) and offered to all who visit & pray in a Gurudwara. It is made of whole wheat flour and the ratio is 1:1:1:2 :: Ghee:Atta:Sugar: Water.

    You can never get the exact same taste as the gurdwara sahib. doesn't matter How much well you try. The peace and sweetness of gurbani is the real essence in the kadah prasad.

    I am a South indian , I just love this Gurudwara Prasad, but was not getting that taste. I followed your instruction of kada prasad to the 'T' and it came out very well. Thank you Kunal ji.

    Thank you so much. I used to enjoy it when I was a child and my mother prepared it. Now I am an 80 years old Indian American. My wife passed away over 40 years ago. I have learned to cook almost every Indian dish since she passed away, but never could find the recipe for this Halwa. I will give it a try. Thanks again for the accurate measurement.

    I also remember that I used to go to gurudwara only to get this atte ka halwa. It used to so wow. Every time I tasted, the taste remains the same. Second was the langar. So beautifully cooked and it used to be delicious. I still remember the day I went to amrister golden temple such a memorable journey.

    Just prepared it. It was sooper easy to make just took 10 to 15 minutes. I just put even less sugar & ghee. Came out perfect. Thanks 4 the recipe. Tastes just like the one I had in a gurudwara :)

    Love kada prasad. First time I got to taste it when we were visiting golden temple Amritsar on occasion, so yummy and delicious my hands got coated with beautiful taste of always with enormous amount of ghee,wow how yummy can always get,loved it.     I just made it and it is yummm. I reduced the quantity of sugar, added a pinch of salt and added dry fruit. Tastes just like I remember in the Gurudwara I used to visit with my friends as a child. Thank you Chef.

    Salt in Halwa ! yuy! It can't be the same taste as of Gurudwara Halwa which I ate in Army Cantt gurudwara

    My father used to use 3 cup water in one cup sugar in gurdwara sahib, he runs a organisation who do free path in people’s home and do other charity work

    @@nainagupta2641 Naina ji 2 guna paani se mitha jyada hone ka sawal nahi. Kyun ki aata, ghee, sugar ka proportion to same hai.... Bas ye baat hai ke 3 guna paani se wo paani absorb hone ka time thoda badhega. To aur bhi jyada taste nikharegi...
