K1 Kickboxing Training - Blocking to Create Attacking Positions with Mick Crossland
Blocking as a defence in Kickboxing is sometimes seen as a passive way to defend an opponent’s attacking techniques. However, those with the relevant skill and experience seek to be more proactive with this type of defence in order to position themselves more effectively for countering.
Here, Kickboxing world champion and renowned head coach of The Combat Academy in Barnsley Mick Crossland goes over a drill he likes to utilise with his fighters to help them learn how to build effective counters after blocking whilst sparring or fighting.
This clip is taken from his amazing full length instructional volume “Advanced Kickboxing Drills - How to Fight at Elite Level”, which is available to download or stream now from the Warrior Marketplace 🤯 This and his other phenomenal volume on the site are both cram packed with an ungodly amount of Kickboxing brilliance!!

Kickboxing originated from karate look at what it used to be before muay thai. Instead of sport karate it takes more after muay thai and kyokushin.

All traditional Martial Arts have belts to identify the level of the fighter. Kickboxing is basically Karate with boxing.

They have a Kickboxing belt system, and it is a really strong one! They produce a lot of high level fighters who compete in full contact Kickboxing and K-1
Nothing against the skill level and K-1 techniques, but the belts on mt shorts is just fucking cringe and that is what literally every single fight fan thinks. Since I used to do some marketing for a gym, I know that these gimmicks are mostly used as a loyalty/marketing gimmick to motivate kiddos coming to classes, but it’s such a huge copout and completely against kickboxing culture.

I am a fight fan and I don't think so. Also no one gives a shit about random opinions, kickboxing originated from karate and is a strict japanese martial arts. Just because the west wants to americanize everything doesn't make other cultures "cringe".

Those short are from Muay thai. That's why it looks different.

@@rephael3777 and karate originated from primeval monkey fighting with no belts, stop making nonsensical analogies. No such thing as belts for kickboxing or Muay Thai, period, good luck trying to convince Thais otherwise lmao
