This video remind me of so many things. I was born in 1935, close to Hillsborough Park and Sheffield Wednesday Football Club. I loved them both, but my parents moved the family, including me, overseas in 1952 . I have missed them both ever since.

awesome. Yes I remember clogging on last bus. All us bus drivers just wanted to get passengers home and get home ourselves.

The Wybourne kids one,got me,as I lived there from 1968 to 1973 from being born to age 5. My twin brother died in 1969 of the Hong Kong flu pandemic. This picture could well be at around that period. My mother is Irish, and this was her first home in England. She said the area was rundown but the people were the friendliest, and most supportive. The video is brilliant. It shows we are living in an ever changing world. Things seem to be changing more rapidly these days, and sadly I don't think that it is really in our best interests any more.

2:53 'Meet you at the Kiosk'. It's probably 50 years since I last said this, but the memories came as soon as I saw the picture

Remember the days of bus inspectors when they were figures of authority. Yes, the final whistle, end of a night out when pubs closed at 10:30!

Loved that last bus clip. As if they were more than just buses. They were on a mission to get Sheffielders home. Like a rescue.. now there isn't anything in our best interest..

Hiya Ann. It’s a brilliant clip. Once that whistle went it was like a formula one race start to the lights. 😂

I never caught one of these. I had to be in by 11.30, unless I came home with a group of us girls who all ived within 2 or 3 streets of each other. We would pile into a taxi & share the fare from the Heart-beat or Penny Farthing Clubs. Now, they WERE Happy days.❤

On the "High Street Before Widening" shot at 1:51, which part of High Street is that? That Statue looks like the Eliot one currently in Weston Park! Nice work with the video, will check out more of yours.

Hiya. Not really sure as it has changed so much over the many years. It could be from where the tram stop is now opposite the bankers draft pub looking up High St.

@@justoldsheffieldphotos7868 Hi, thanks. Yes it's really hard to tell. That Statue in Weston Park hasn't always been there though, it was re-located there. I'd swear that's it there on High Street and the widening was the reason for re-location.

@@j4wn yes it’s hard to tell a lot. Relocation of statues were popular.
