JUST IN: Pennsylvania Manhunt: Guard Fired After Failing To See Danelo Cavalcante Escape
A guard at Pennsylvania’s Chester County State Prison was fired this week after officials said the individual failed to spot convicted murderer Danelo Cavalcante’s escape, a source at the prison told the Philadelphia Inquirer, as the manhunt for Cavalcante enters its second week, and officials warn residents he is “extremely dangerous.”

Blame it on a guard, when prison officials knew an inmate escaped in the same manner not long ago and did nothing to remedy the situation.?

Inept prison personnel for letting him escape and law enforcement for taking so long to catch him.
The system is just backwards. They act like he let homie out. Nobody saw him escape because if they did then maybe they would have responded. Just goes to show there is no benefit to being a cop or guard.
After the first rising escape over this Summer, protocols should've changed and extra security measures added, but no. Clearly there's something not right with this prison that inmates can simply escape without being noticed. The firing of one guard doesn't solve anything........
Seems to me that all of the guards are at fault for failing to notice that any inmate has escaped, why only single out just one guard?

That one guard didn't contribute to another guard's pizza party on his birthday, so he became the sacrificial lamb.

He refused to buy the doughnuts that morning...and that was the price he paid. Well, plus the criminal paid him $75,000 (a little bag of diamonds; untraceable)...that might have had something to do with it.@@jimb.7523

I’ve worked Texas corrections for 2 years at a transfer and max unit. Usually officers with seniority or military experience work in the towers because you’re dealing with fire arms. And it’s usually only you. The guard could’ve been complacent because there isn’t an escape or attempted one everyday so he let his or her guard down. And where I worked 2 officers are inside while 1 is outside watching the Rec yard but the ones inside are busy dealing with multiple things.
Why the music
These guards are not the best or brightest. I know some prison guards and I would not allow them to guard my tomatoes in the garden let alone killers in jails
A prison can be designed to be impossible to escape. But they design them to he horrible and they are designed for escape and violence. It's just the dedicated that escape. If we designed our system to reward them escaping and becoming good citizens that don't get in trouble prisons would be more effective.
Yeah, let's blame the overworked, understaffed guy. It's all his fault.

Typical government response. Fire the the guard. What about the prison officials who knew about the flaw in that vestibule as a prisoner already did the same thing earlier. They are the responsible parties here. Not the lowly guard working a sh!t job trying to feed his family. Especially a 20 year veteran. The Federal and State governments are a joke and people are starting to wake up.
Why this bouncy upbeat music for such a sad story?
Why fire him? The guy climbed that wall in a matter of seconds. As soon as you turned your head, he was gone.
This guy is very intelligent as far as a criminal mind goes..hes a survival minded person...most likely cunning..he made it from Brazil..if he makes it to new york, it will be years

20 years of service and gets fired I feel bad for the co. I guess the warden had to make a bus run over someone. That fence should of been fixed after the first situation imo

Luckily it was only that one corrections officer. Normally it will be three to four people. Tower officer perimeter officer shift supervisor and possibly Captain of security

Sounds to me like the warden needed to be fired as well. He didn't ensure that his jail was very much Xscape proof. Didn't look like he had any trouble getting out that's for sure.
