Instead of prayers, to help this tragedy not happening in the future vote for those that are for regulation enforcement on wealthy property owners. All lives could have literally been saved with our help in that regard!

Apparently eye witness saw flashes before the collapse : very much like controlled demolition.... could it be retaliation for the air strikes recently on Gaza? I read a man was out walking his dog and saw a little hand and heard a scream near the rubble. A second man and the other man called first responders and they rescued a little boy! All kinds of heroes. I hope there can be more people found alive, how horrible and traumatic!! I also read the building has been sinking since the 90s! I hope I read that wrong.

When has a building ever just felled to the ground? Something is not right. This building literally fell to the ground. That has never ever happened. Something's very fishy And I'm sure They will find the reason why this building fell And remember this building was built Hurricane strength .

This governor just did some heroic things within the last month! He made a law that transgender men could not participate in women's sports, he made a law that social media platforms cannot silence Florida residents just because they might have a difference of opinion, and the governor sent officers to Texas to help with the border crisis. Hope these things have nothing to do with this building being destroyed. The whole incident doesn't look right!. Prayers to all in Florida.

The whole thing is "fishy" for sure!!! The fact that the Mayor made a statement in his initial interview that the building was due and subject to a scheduled 30/40 years structural certification sort of is a clue, then how so much of the building went down into rubble means that it is highly UNlikely that it will be mended/repaired/restored and that someone benefits insurance wise for the loss. And also the hurricane resistance and strength of the building and years of withstanding such should be an indicator that it is built strong and takes a precise shoot/plan in explosives work, to cause it to drop as it did. My now EX husband worked in heavy construction as an explosives expert for close to 50 years and I have joined him in such shoots (the legal ones) on projects. The majority of the public has NOT had that experience to know.

The maintenance guy said water would sit on the floor of the garage in that section of the building, pretty good chance the structure was compromised from years of sea water which has salt and salt is a HUGE destroyer of cement. The section that didn't have the water on the floor is still standing , thats' and indication of the water being the problem There are thousands of high-rises across the US, and few incidents of something like this.

Such a very bad situation, reminds me of a mini 9/11 trying to find survivors in the rubble. I’m praying for everyone involved and there families.

Apparently this building was erected prior to hurricane Andrew when building codes were not that great in Florida. Since Andrew the state has some of the best standards in the building industry. This may have had something to do with the structure collapsing.

Built in 1981 I believe. It was going through a structural inspection. Construction was being done on on another condo near by. It has several lawsuits for structural cracks. There is no telling. We might find out what caused it 🤔

There are gigantic steel beams that go down into the ground into concrete 100 ft below any structure like that and it runs all the way up to the top of the building, even if the building did try to collapse only one portion for one area would be able to collapse due to these multiple steel beams that run into the ground as an anchor against hurricanes, only one little area could have any possible chance of collapsing but even that is so rare it has never happened, ever! These beams have to be cut and explosives have to be placed ahead of time.. and guess what they even admit there was construction going on in the building and on the roof. Demolition just like what happened in New York City in 2001.

First thing I would do is find out which company constructed that building and find out what other buildings did they work on. Then check on them if they are structurally sound so that this doesn't happen again...

Microwaves,the concrete and steel Just decintograted,the only thing that would cause that is a D.E.W satelite weapon.There is one up there and it has been used to start fires and collapsed buildings.They need to find out who's behind it. Syrian, I saw a video about an apartment block in the same area that had been built badly : the foundations were sinking....they emptied it all out ( a pity, as the inside was o.k.....maybe the components were re -used?), and because it had been constructed to withstand hurricanes, it was a big job to set the explosives so it would collapse in a safe way.... Maybe this one that collapsed was faulty in other ways? Maybe the builders cut corners in safety to make a quick buck ? It happens....will other blocks fall? I would think if one key part low down failed, then the whole lot could come down.... So sorry for residents.....😢. Step up Security in case of terrorist fanatics, although they usually strike then disappear, don't they? Hope forensics might find the cause....the 9/11 team are going there.... 😢🇬🇧🌷💕🌎💕🇬🇧😢

Very good point. Apparently it was under review for structural issues because it was am old building built on sand. The rebar likely weakened by salt water. We will see. At least Ron won't lie like all other governors.

This is horrible. Watching videos of building come down, buildings looked similar to ones on 9/11 coming down. Very sad for the people and families, God help them.💕

I like how even in a tragic situation, DeSantis and his team are always building people up with positive reinforcement and thanking the people on the ground, whereas Dems and the left can turn even a happy event into a blame game and nauseating pity party. They need to investigate the concrete chemistry for this construction from 40 years ago. Rebar specs. Anything that may have caused this structure to fail.

I agree. Every person, but especially ones who live or work in an older high-rise, really need answers so that other older buildings can be scrutinized/inspected. It is my suspicion that 40 years ago, someone cut corners. Who knows? Maybe not. I'm especially curious about the foundation and any reported issues of building movement or shifting.

You'd have to go back to the architects and the construction companies involved in building it and then look at the inspections it passed. Somewhere along the way someone or many messed up. A good example of a collapse like this is the Sampoong Department store collapse in South Korea in 1995. In that situation an investigation revealed that this caused the collapse: "the building was built with incorrect application of a technique called "flat slab construction". Reinforced concrete buildings are often built by using columns and beams, with the floor slab supported over the full length of the beams. "Flat slab construction" does not use beams but supports the floor slab directly on the columns. The area of floor around the columns must be reinforced in order to carry the load; if the columns are too narrow, they can punch through the slab....Examination of the building showed the concrete columns installed were only 60 cm in diameter, below the required 80 cm shown in the plans. Worse still, the number of steel reinforcement bars embedded into the concrete was 8, not the required 16, which gave the building only half its needed strength. Steel reinforcements intended to strengthen the concrete floor were placed 10 cm from the top instead of 5 cm, decreasing the structure's strength by about another 20%"

This looks like a demolition. Pay attention what goes up in its place.. DeSantis isn't the one to mess with. He will get to the bottom of it..endless love and prayers for all the families involved.

What's up with recertify for structural integrity high rises buildings every 40 yrs. That is totally crazy. Especially in areas that are standing up to hurricane's. I hope that policy charged yesterday. In fact I hope the governor demands an immediate inspection of all high rise structures while they are still working and while it's still fresh in everyone's mind.

Yes controlled explosions and a dew weapon possibly. the middle of the building fell first go to 365 REALITY on you tube there is a slow motion video....

Ron DeSantis got it under control, no better man for this. Floridians are lucky to have this guy. God give strength to this man and to the first responders
