A conscientious jurist should do everything he/she can to avoid this because of the potential to taint all his/her legal decisions. And that also includes family members. Recall Democrats recently filed articles of impeachment against an associate justice because his wife allegedly flew a American flag upside down (the international signal of distress) after J6.
