This is private property. Infrastructure is roads, bridges, tunnels, dams, etc and are publicly funded.

No. It is a photo shopped tweet that started the rumour. Someone made it say that McAfee had a condo there with computers that had hard-drives with secret / sensitive information. However, this tweet doesn’t exist in McAfee's Twitter time line.

I was just commenting as to what came into my mind after hearing about the roof "repairs" and how suspicious it seemed to me, but I have not been following the news as closely as others. The first thing I thought of when I heard that it razed like a demolition event was 9/11. Eerie. That someone could possibly kill countless people when targeting others - I'm just musing, I really don't know what happened at all or why. It may also have been a punishment to Ron DeSantis for doing all he is doing with election and school reform. Some people don't like that, and it was pretty soon after he announced some radical bills that butted heads with possible CCP actors. Okay, sorry this comment ran much too long.

There have been rescue dogs involved since Day One, as well as search drones with instruments sensitive enough to detect even breathing.

I don't think this country should be becoming a bilingual one. Learn English, speak English and don't expect a translation all the time. At most, they should have put captions in Spanish while DeSantis spoke. If I moved to Spain or France, or any other foreign country, the first thing I would do is take a crash course in the language spoken there and then study it for years to improve my speaking and understanding of the language.

@@flowersinherhair Operative word there: "was." It's no longer a Spanish colony. Many likely left the area when the US acquired Florida from Spain. Florida is part of the United States and in the Untied States the national language is ENGLISH, NOT Spanish. We don't need differences in language tearing this country apart further. I'm thinking that most, if not all descendants of the Spanish that lived there prior to Florida becoming part of the US, speak English. As far as current Hispanic immigrants living there now, if you don't want to speak or learn English, move back to Mexico, or from wherever you came from. Some of my grandparents immigrated from Germany and they LEARNED THE LANGUAGE. I speak English. Everyone else should speak it primarily, also, if you live in the U.S.

@Erika With a K Wow, so it's true. It's critical that the survivors come forward with that information BEFORE they are "silenced" too. Sounds like they should be investigating either a garage renovation FAIL, OR foul play -- a terrorist act (I also heard that Macaffee or a close relative of his had a condo there where he may have hidden information in the event of his death, and just the day before they say he "committed suicide" in a Spanish jail just having gotten clearance to be extradited to the USA!!. Curiouser and curiouser.) This 1981 building built to code JUST LIKE ALL THE OTHERS AROUND IT did not just fall by itself. Also, it's eerie how they just happen to be circulating a photo of that very basement taken just 36 hours before the crash, to make it look as in need of repair as possible, but all I can see is a fairly normal looking basement with some mold growing in the Florida humidity.

A week before, Gov Desantis was a few blocks away in a presser in a synagogue, where he spoke glowingly about Israel and condemned Hezbollah in Iran. Exactly 25 years prior to the day, Hezbollah attacked US interests. Flashes can be seen before the building comes down in the ONE VIDEO that exists of the collapse. Check out Florida Maquis KZread channel for info on this. Whatever brought it down, I do not think it was organic.

@@flowersinherhair Could very well be Hezbollah. Synagogue nearby, plenty of Jews lived in the building. This was definitely not organic or some construction issue. The building was built in 1981 so almost a half a century ago, to weather hurricanes. They should be considering everything.

SO Surfside just told on themselves that their inspectors are either behind on inspections or are bad at doing inspections. I suspect both. Because the building that collapsed has documents that their building was in BAD condition from 2018. I suspect the condo association did not realize what the report meant. Did the city get a copy? Why/why not? Did they inspect the property any time between then and now?

The condo association needs approval from the homeowners/residents association (the people who pay ~$100k each apartment+-) for the repairs , they then need to hire someone to do the work and then wait for them come. This was already in progress on the same timeline as countless building in the area. The damage from exposure to salt water (it's in the air) to this building is also not unique what sover to this building. There are literally hundreds of buildings along this coast who are in, will be or have been in the same situation every year.

It was done on purpose.

How come people are live-streaming shots of the site showing nobody looking or digging in the rubble looking for survivors ...there's hours and hours a day when nobody's doing anything Which is why family members were so angry...

@@DonniDeVille They have dug trenches from the top and tunnels up from the garage, hoping to find places where people could be trapped. They can use the dogs and listening instruments this way. They were on top of the mound a lot the first few days, but now it looks like the heavy machinery is trying to get some of the big slabs off there now. Although it varies, the experts have said that the people on the lower floors would have a better chance of survival. It's all so sad.

I guess DeSantis' little blue sharpies didn't help with building inspections and regulations.

Private property. The condo association had responsibility for getting the inspections and making repairs. The Governor was 2yo when this place was built. Not his fault. 🙄
