The difficulty that comes in prosecuting these crimes is the requirement that the statements be made knowingly or willingly. This allows those being accused of, or investigated for, perjury, to assert a lack of knowledge at the time of the statement that the statement was false. So "i didn't know" goes a long way to protect these professional liars. the fact is, neither side of the floor wants to prosecute the other, UNLESS they are making more waves than they should be. you really should know by now, that they all either lie and/or stretching the truth to an unbelievable point, ALL THE TIME!

Such "mistakes" at her level simply cannot be made, and at a minimum, she should forever be disbarred for that stunt as punishment for her actions. She knew what she was doing, yet still has the temerity to self-justify. The arrogance of it is stunning.

you have a bucket, it is full of one type of stock, you sell it all, but you still have some left over, ready to make mega-millions on the decisions you make as an administrator for the U.S. government. how is it you did not see that stock in the bottom of the bucket? doesn't really matter, this shit goes on everyday, 24-7. they have a program where it is not against the law unless you get caught. it is rather like Halloween when people are lazy and just leave the candy bowl on a table outside, and you, as a sugar junkie at ten years old are supposed to use some self restraint and honesty. these people are on their own sense of honor up there and few of them have any left! but if it makes you feel better, yeah a mistake was made, she just got caught at it. if you actually looked at what they do up there it would make you sick. when you come into an administration, say the bush admin, just for example, going to war over oil rights. um stolen oil, um you know the thing man! all of those cabinet people were supposed to divest themselves of ANY stocks that were a conflict of interest. every admin is supposed to do that. they all claimed they did. none of them did. they were all filthy with oil stocks and futures and hands in oil companies, and cut that pie up before they even got there. but there was a diversion, remember what that was? as disgusting as it is, we as citizens, are supposed to look at that and cry foul when we see it, many of us just don't want to look anymore

It makes a difference if you had the FBI put child porn on the Judges computer and then quietly told him he was going to prison if he didn't do the "right" thing. It makes a difference if you are silent part owner of the newspaper and threaten to go after the police department for racial brutality. Corruption makes a BIG difference.
