This was one of those projects, that ended up on the shelf collecting dust for months. I had the idea more than a year ago but I wasn't sure where to go with it. But one night I pulled myself together and started prioritizing what shots needed the most work and tried to tie everything together again.
I know there are so many things I could improve on the project, but I want to move on from it now and publish it as it is. I hope you enjoy it.
So even though, I did not have a clear vision for the project in the beginning I ended up having a finished project and a lot of learned lessons on how to structure and plan out an animated short.

The short was created using Blender, which is open source and absolutely awesome. You can get it here: www.blender.org/
It's rendered on a GTX 1070 using cycles. The render time per frame was 5-6 minutes for the outdoor scenes and 1-2 minutes for the studio scenes. I think if I had been working on it intensely in my spare time, I would have been able to finish it in a couple of months. The rocks in the start of the film were created in Houdini and exported to Blender. The same is the case for most of the dust and volumetric effects in the short.

"The ad they wish they had" honestly speaking a car company would not use this animation in their advertisment. Because this is not enough for them, and i am talking about quality. Bring up a whole team to do the video perfect as possible from every aspect. What would can't do one person. I think this animation is amasing, and verry professional. But a real car add is a different category.

@@kumaahito3927 It really take time. My PC is equiped with a 2080Ti, it takes about 2 minute to render 1 frame of something like this. If it's 24 fps, it will take 48 mintue to render a second, 72 hours to render 90 seconds. Just image what it takes to make a movie......

Btw how long have you been learning blender?
It's a week now that I discovered 3d modeling as something that really interests me, watching this and knowing (as best as I can now) the amount of work and knowledge needed to do this, it's a bit overwhelming ngl. Amazing job anyway!

Hahah, yeah... When you know about 3D, you also know how long stuff like this takes. When I am watching the marvel films, I still can't stop thinking about how many CG artists have been struggling for months to create the effects

Absolutely phenomenal work Daniel! I actually had a hand in designing this car with Shelby and it's so cool to see a fellow 3D artist using it as the centerpiece for such an impressive piece of work. This isn’t just looks realistic, this looks like an actual Game. I would say it’s not one of the best realistic one. BUT I WOULD SAY THE BEST CAR GAME ANIMATION THAT I HAVE EVER WATCHED in my life. Really well design mate, and this is what I’m looking for. And again, really great work.

This is way more interesting to look at than most car commercials, despite the title. It shows the car being magically assembled in weird and satisfying ways. Then, the section to show off speed feels way faster because of the excellent animation and camera angles.

Amazing!
This is hands down the best animation I’ve seen in Blender. The modeling was all spot on, the lighting was beautiful, and the animations were so good. Obviously I’m not putting it against big budget works that had extensive Blender use just because the rendering resources they have along with the big budget live footage and better integrated use of Nuke/Houdini (as a full studio would have professional relations with them) has to be taken into consideration. But as far as a single man job with mostly Blender usage this is right up there.
